Yahwehgbemi: I look forward to your response.
How do I know points I will be claiming when submitting my EOI if EA does not do work experience assessment? I am sure of less cost of assessment but dont understand better chances at maximum work points. Is DIBP also involved in Skill assessment thereby giving me choices to select from the options of EA or DIBP? Help clarify these questions Sir. Thanks Sir. @ tkos, jamson, zanyzara, cottyekundayo, kempguy47, mamajaz, frank043, kamotisha Thank you all for your very wonderful and experience-based answers. I got all your standpoints very clearly and I have been able to decide what action to take. Once again, thank you |

jamson: Will check and revert shortly.
Just do the regular MSA and claim your work points with DIBP only. Better chances at maximum work points and less cost of assessment I look forward to your response. tkos: My own case, i did assessment of my work experience with EA to actually know my fate, because i combined Chemical Engineering & Cost Estimating Experience. All years was recognized by EA. Lesson learnt is that always align your job description with the ANZCO code. thank you |

Cottyekundayo: Assess your employment. The same documents you used for the assessment are required by DIBP ( as regards claiming points for work). Your years of experience will be stated on your assessment letter. Not sure what that of EA looks like though. thank you |

Based on what I have read on this platform, I discovered that most people that applied for assessment by EA only paid for standard CDR assessment with fast track and excluded fees for assessment of work experience. They claim that DIBP will do the work experience assessment.
For me, I have about 9 years working experience and I need the points from work experience. 1. Do I include fees for work experience assessment when submitting my application to EA? 2. If eventually I do not pay for work experience assessment, can I claim points when submitting an EOI?
Thank you house for your prompt response.
@Bnimz and Jamson, I sent you PMs as I seek your professional advice being an Electrical Engr. pls respond. Thanks |

Thank you bellong. I am new on Nairaland and being a novice, I wrongly sent empty anonymous messages to Ifexsco through his profile. Help me communicate to him that I am sorry about this. I am now learning how to message. Thank you bellong: @Yahwehgbemi,
I believe while lecturing, you carry out project with students? Those should be practical engineering experience. If you want to use your uncle's place too, it is not a bad idea. The important thing is writing a convincing CDR.
Ifexsco may be able to help you out. He is an engineer and was also a university lecturer. |

Thank you joslight: I am a university lecturer and a medical doctor. I suggest you go the engineering route because university lecturer is eligible for employer sponsored route only and tutor has been removed from all list. personally assessed as a medical laboratory scientist was assessed as a technician and am waiting for AIMS exam in march to be eligible for 189 as a scientist. That's my understanding. all the best engineers can chip in. |

Yahwehgbemi: @ bellong
I have a B.Sc(2006) and M.Eng(2013) in Electrical Engineering and 8 years teaching experience. Also the learning of professional electrical engineering practice has been since 2007
I also wish to ask what is the validity of a positive assessment i.e. how long is it valid just like IELTS that is valid for only 2 years Yahwehgbemi: Good day to everyone on this platform. Within few days I was introduced and have been reading on this platform, I have been loaded with a lot of information I couldn't have got from any agent. Thanks all.
I wish to ask a question - I lecture Electrical-related courses in a polytechnic (with a BSc and Masters) and also learn professional Electrical engineering from someone I can refer to as my Big Bros even though there is no concrete agreement of employment between us. This Bros gets electrical contracts and I assist him in executing some of them whenever I am chanced and by this I have developed practical skills and gotten some irregular stipends. I have been with him since 2007.
I wish to apply for Australian PR and in choosing an occupation, I discovered there is no Polytechnic lecturer/tutor on the MLTSSL but there is University lecturer/tutor. I found out I have far far better chances as Electrical Engineer and I wish to submit as Electrical Engineer to EA. Please, what do you advise me to do?
I can always talk to this Bros to offer me employment letter on Part-time basis covering about 10 years I have been with him. Can I include the polytechnic practical experience involving electrical projects too? This means I will be working in two places simultaneously - one part-time and the other full-time. Is this acceptable?
Thank you all as I await your responses. |
