akitijackson: Nairalanders dis isn't the way to approach matters like this. Someone comes up here, shares a problem and then the next thing is insults from different angles. This isn't right, every1 has failed at some point in life. We have made mistakes, me sharing mine here has turned out to be the biggest mistake I've eva done. Once beaten twice shy.Sorry dear |
mikedimeji: Laughing in Spanish... All NYSC will pay u for the whole service year is not up to 200k, if u use 200k to sort out accommodation, won't u eat, what about transportation, what about airtime. Personally I have resolved within me if I can't gain from NYSC I will not spend my personal money apart from the 19800, if I discover that what I spent in the month on transport is not commensurable with what I get then I won't be going to work every day.Well said! |
SerPounce: It might and it might not . It all depends on the landlord you meet and how you relate with him. Having said that, I'd advice one avoids agents altogether if possible. It's better one meets the landlord or lawyer in charge of the house personally. Once you've decided on the area you'd like to stay at, a day's walk around that area could yield positive results. Yes, Igando is another good one. But traffic, especially for those who would ply the Cele-Ikotun-Igando route could be a nightmare. It is DIFFICULT to get a house in LAGOS without an agent. It pays working with an agent, they charge just 1k to avoid stress. To get a good room self-con, with water in the compound, tiles, etc(my findings), 100-120k per year then the agreement/agency-Minimum of 40k. But just a room & not too conducive you get that from 70k-90k per year. |
SerPounce: Men, I've been wracking my brains to find a decent option for you. But each falls short of all these your criteria. To put it simply, it's (almost) impossible to find a self - contained apartment in a DECENT area with fair TRAFFIC in Lagos at that price range man. You might have to come up on your budget to say around 150k. But your best bet would be to get a place around the Ejigbo-Ikotun-Egbeda-Ipaja axis and hope they post you close to where you'd be renting. If you even see a self - con at that 150 you'd be very lucky. That's one of the sure ways you wouldn't have to deal with much Lagos traffic. There are also other areas too. Others with more ideas should help him. But have it in mind that your budget might not be sufficient. Or you might look for another non-Lagosian to pool your funds with. Then your chances of getting a place remotely fitting your description would be higher. Hope I've helped you a bit.Hello Serpounce, does this 150k include agency and agreement? Ejigbo-Ikotun-(Igando is also a good, quite area)Egbeda-Ipaja axis |

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/mother-5-writes-viral-facebook-post-being-ridiculed-085809829.html#ZL3EfJs What amazing feat has your body done? That’s what Tanis Jex-Blake, a 33-year-old mother of five, is asking the people who ridiculed her stretch marks on the beach. The Canadian mum has gone viral after sharing this picture on Facebook, along with an open letter to the group of people who decided to make fun of her body as she relaxed in her bikini. She wrote: I’m sorry if my first attempt at sun tanning in a bikini in public in 13 years ‘grossed you out’. I’m sorry that my stomach isn’t flat and tight. I’m sorry that my belly is covered in stretch marks. I’m NOT sorry that my body has housed, grown, protected, birthed and nurtured FIVE fabulous, healthy, intelligent and wonderful human beings. I’m sorry if my 33-year-old, 125 lb body offended you so much that you felt like pointing, laughing and pretending to kick me. But I’ll have you know that as I looked at your ‘perfect’ young bodies, I could only think to myself “what great and amazing feat has YOUR body done?” She went on to say that though she bore their remarks well at the time, she “cried in the car on the way home”. I can’t help but feel sorry for the women who will one day bear your children and become ‘gross’ in your eyes as their bodies change during the miraculous process of pregnancy. I can only hope that one day you’ll realise that my battle scars are something to be proud of, not ashamed of. The letter was picked up by a local radio station and shared over a million times, leading to Jex-Blake being interviewed by a Canadian TV station. She told them her shame has now turned to ‘empowerment’ – and she hopes her situation will make other women feel more confident about their bodies. You. Go. Girl. source: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152177596531126&set=a.10150146956606126.282890.555276125&type=1&relevant_count=1
