If the north and south are up against you, where will you get your votes? Rig and roast!

A coalition of prominent Nigerian political figures on Wednesday staged a protest in Abuja, demanding reforms in the country’s electoral system and accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of bias.
The demonstration, tagged “Occupy INEC” and “Save Our Democracy,” was spearheaded by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, alongside Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, and former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi.
Also present were the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola, former Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal, and former senator Dino Melaye, among other party leaders and supporters.
Trigger for the Protest
The protest follows INEC’s decision to withdraw recognition from the ADC leadership after a Court of Appeal ruling, a move the demonstrators described as politically motivated.
Organisers said the action was aimed at drawing attention to what they termed increasing interference in the electoral process and the need to safeguard Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
Atiku Abubakar, who had earlier announced the protest, said it was a peaceful demonstration driven by a commitment to protect democracy and prevent any slide toward authoritarian rule.
Voices from the Streets
At the protest venue, demonstrators chanted “Ojoro”, a slang expression suggesting electoral malpractice, while holding placards bearing inscriptions such as “Tinubu, why are you afraid?”, “Let democracy breathe,” and “Judges must give justice.”
Participants also sang “Arise, O Compatriots,” Nigeria’s former national anthem, in what appeared to be a symbolic expression of national unity and civic responsibility.
Amaechi Urges Citizens to Act
Addressing the crowd, Rotimi Amaechi called on Nigerians to take an active role in defending the country’s democracy.
He warned against political manipulation and emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.
According to Amaechi, the protest reflects a broader commitment among political leaders to demand credible, free, and transparent elections, adding that safeguarding democracy is a responsibility that extends beyond politicians to all citizens.
Rising Political Undercurrents
The joint appearance of Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, and other influential figures—many of whom were rivals in the 2023 presidential election—has fueled speculation about possible political realignments ahead of 2027.

The Nigerian opposition has failed to heed the Old Testament commandment of an eye for an eye. In place of grown men who have worked hard to create a name for themselves, crying and marching in the rain in protest against one illegitimate president's antics, it is now time to “scatter” his party, the APC, as well. Let weariness and confusion enter their midst, too.
ADC must now provision funds to sponsor claimants to the chairmanship throne in the APC. There is no dearth of eligible candidates, and Wike's for the right price. I can find ten of them tomorrow morning. Let the courts be littered with petitions, and let them be served with the injunctions of claimants.

Every APC state chapter chairmanship must be disputed in the courts. The national chairman and national secretary positions must be illegally occupied. When?. Yesterday, already. Naijahero1: Yesterday, I made a post explaining how grossly INEC had erred. And for that matter it did so hastily leaving dangerous streaks all the way. The ADC guys already know there is no crisis in the party although they want to capitalize on it to show how unpopular and desperate TInubu and APC are, and attract more attention, which is working perfectly. You know why ADC guys are not jittery, the INEC action is a big slap on their credibility and it will lead to the removal of Amupitan. Let's go straight to the point. 1. INEC claims it acted on court order. Up to this moment INEC has no written instruction, notice from any court, judge detailing the action INEC should take. Nigerians are asking Amupitan, he is stammering. Legally, you don't pass a judgement without a copy or written statement (declaratives) signed for action or inaction. 2. INEC claims its action is based on the judgement of the appeal court that ADC should return to the situation before the war (before Mark and Aregbe became ADC leaders). Good. You know what INEC did? It wiped out all the leaders on the ADC from their portal without recognizing Nwosu the original ADC chairman who has been saying APC is pestering him with billions but he refused. 3. INEC, APC, Wike most laughably now recognize Nafiu Bala who is just one of the regional deputies in a country that has six regions. Shockingly, what APC and Wike say is what INEC is saying.
If you look at the whole situation, INEC, Wike and APC acted hastily like thieves and messed up big time. It all speaks of desperation of TInubu who has been rejected by Nigerians. Tell me why ADC should worry. You see no one is leaving and more people especially in the North are joining every day. The protests and many more come are all attempt to expose the corrupt and bias INEC and show how undemocratic TInubu is. TInubu should start packing his load because nothing will save him. ADC won't go to court. Everything will be handled lawfully on the street. 2023 was an eye-opener, it won't happen again.
