I have been trying for some tine now to delete my profle feom Nairaland as I do not want to have anything to do with it again. The system has prevented me from doing such.

I have been a member of this forum since 2010 and learnt a lot from ot especially the property and Auto section. What I learnt in the property section saved me a lot of money in the past and the contacts I got from the Auto section still remain valuable till date.

Back then, the quality of discussions, tolerance, maturity of engagements sns administration of the forum were educative,informing, entertaining and top notch. The moderation was unbiased,focused and supportive

However, in recent years, especially in the last 4/5 years I have noticed a drastic drop in the quality of discussions, high immaturity and descent into gutter level discussions.

Worse still, the forum seems to have been hijacked by politicians agents, PR agents, blackmailers and others alike. You see topics aimed deliberayely at damaging the reputations of individuals making front pages within few seconds of posting whike critucak national issues are never given such attention. You see political posts designed to launder the image of an unknown politician being given prominence over thise that are not able to make money.

I have observed situations where posters pay noderators to deliberately ban other posters who oppose their views. I have also seen situations where some moderators have different monikers to attack views they consider not in lime with their positions


To worsen things, there appears to be commercialisation of the forum that have been sold to political parties tgat have BOTs in place to attack ceaselessly and mindlessly any topic that is anti to their politcal views and artificially prop up topics that favour them.

In short, Nairaland had become a cesspit for immature and irritating topics.

I have tried to delete my profile for weeks now and the system kept saying I could not.

Since it is linked to my private details, alm I want is to permanently delink from nairaland and move on
