White Bread, Pasta and Rice
The most famous food in Nigeria and Ghana is Rice. Well I hate to break it to you as a diabetic, these foods are your arch enemy, they are carbohydrates rich foods.
According to a research from a reputable university in New york, diabetes symptoms can Increase drastically if High carbohydrate foods like pasta, wheat, rice etc are taken constantly by a diabetic person!
Another study found that a meal containing a high-carb White bread not only raised blood sugar but decreased brain function in people with type 2 diabetes and mental deficits.

Sugar-Sweetened Beverages
Sugary beverages are the worst drink choice for someone with diabetes.
To begin with, they are very high in carbohydrates, which are, with no doubt one of the worst choice a diabetic person could choose. Since your blood sugar is high because the internal hormone responsible for regulating (Insulin) your blood sugar is not enough, It will be a very bad decision to take Sugar-sweetened beverages.
I personaly had to stay away from any form of drinks when I was diabetic until I came across a remedy that made me free of diabetes and now I can take whatever I want.
The adverse effect of taking these sugar sweetening drinks is that it make causes you to add Weight unnecessarily and Increase your belly fat! which leads to liver disease
