OhBiafra:First it not an airborne disease. I wouldn't have believed everyone in the infected States are carriers. Second it is majorly transmitted from person to person through close contact or touching of a surface contaminated by infected person(s) Owning to the proximity of the state to infected States. Many people would have left the infected States for many reasons to Kogi state. Remember no lockdown in Kogi until now. Kogi state is meeting point of the north to south in Nigeria. Many travellers stop in Kogi state to refresh and transact before continuing their journeys. Third the Governor belief of non existence of the virus. Remember no single test has been carryout in Kogi state. These and many other factors increases the probability or likelihood of possible transmission of the disease to Kogi state. If the assumptions are wrong which unlikely. Test and thorough in-depth and independent analysis of the case should be carried out. Like what was done in Kano. This is what NCDC is trying to achieve. I wonder why many youths are clapping for his ignorance. |
OhBiafra:You just proved you knows nothing about the transmission system of this novel virus. Read more about it from reputable websites like BBC, WHO and come back. |
OhBiafra:Ok. Yo yewa Lola. Translate We shall understand tomorrow. |
SavageMaster:Read gently to understand the write up. The commissioner of health is the only person that can communicate with NCDC as regards suspected cases. FMC can only document and recommend to the commissioner of health. |
sweetsell:I have nothing to lose neither do I have anything to gain to declare my state of origin as regards this matter. I don't base my judgements on sentiments like the Governor and some of you but on verifiable facts. |
OhBiafra:You people should wise up. Nobody is forcing him rather he is the one suppressing and covering up information. Owning to the proximity of Kogi state to other infected States, it is logically and scientifically unreasonable that Kogi state has no case of Covid-19. NCDC is only excercises his power and mandate by carrying out a proactive measures against unforseen circumstances. |
OhBiafra:What did you know? This same mentality was responsible for Abba Kyari' s death. When Germany was already battling with Coronavirus he joyfully and carelessly booked an appointment with the Germans. He never lived to learn from that grievious mistake. Kogi is my state that is why I care. |
tomju:Mumu keep on correcting grammar. You better wise up! You only left the substance for the trivial. I pity U. Awon ode. |
jaggabban:People are already dying of COVID-19 in Kog state. And the Governor is seriously covering up to substantiate his unguided and unverified assumption that COVID-19 is political and not real. |
His arrogance and ego is about to cause him an unredeemable fall. pride they say come before a fall. |

Peterlove11:Do you buy it from Fouani Store. Because their are many fakes outside there. Yes that is how it is designed. The bottom is always dry and chill. But that doesn't stop your food from freezing and remaining frozen for longtime period of time. Mine is serving me excellently well. With the regulator at 4. |
Four patients with Covid-19 symptoms have been reported dead at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja The patients were said to have died after exhibiting "manifested respiratory issues" with their samples not being taken "dead or alive" Kogi government had earlier alleged that there was an "unholy conspiracy" to import case of coronavirus into the state Kogi state has been thrown into anxiety following the alleged death of four patients at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Lokoja who are speculated to have died of coronavirus, Daily Trust reports. An investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo, had through a series of tweets alleged a cover-up in coronavirus death in Kogi. "On Saturday, a patient died at FMC, Lokoja, Kogi, after exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. His samples weren’t taken. That was the 4th such death at the FMC last week alone. Not once was the patient’s samples taken, dead or alive. March 22 was the first time this scenario occurred. A patient who came into Kogi from Lagos required a CS. The patient exhibited COVID-19 symptoms, prompting the hospital to request for her to be tested. It was turned down. The patient was isolated for some time.surgery was done and she was discharged without testing. Last week, there were some patients in the O&G ward who manifested respiratory issues, inability to breathe and other COVID-19 symptoms. Three of them died. They’d come from private hospitals — one in Lokoja, another in Okene and the third in Ogudu. The first of the trio, Mrs G.I. (her initials), a 43-year-old woman who arrived at the hospital on Thursday, had a temp of 38.8°C. The other 2 had temperatures of more than 40°C.In each case, no sample was taken before or after death. Now, on the final day of the week, a patient admitted to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Ward with a temp of 40.3°C was transferred to the male medical ward. The patient spent 3 hours in the ward and then died. One more patient exhibited potential COVID-19 symptoms on Sunday but moves for sample collection were futile; by yesterday, the patient was dead. I’ve been told there are more suspected cases, but these were the ones I personally tracked. Ideally, the FMC ought to notify the Ministry of Health of the need for sample collection if it suspects a case, but the ministry needs to secure the authorisation of the Incident Manager, that is the Commissioner for Health, who directly relates with the NCDC If the Commissioner says no, end of request! Meanwhile, state hospitals are not even in a position to call the health ministry. I understand the instruction from Gov Yahaya Bello is that there should be no testing. I know the question you want to ask and I’ll answer it. Why would the state govt want to hide COVID-19 cases? There may be many reasons but I’m sure of three, so far: 1. None of the 3 isolation centres — at SDG/FAREC Clinic, the Kogi State Diagnostics Centre & the Maimuna and Usman Yahaya Foundation Hospital — is ready for use. A patient can’t be taken into any of them. The only ready space is at Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Lokoja, where Lassa Fever cases were once managed. And it has only four beds. Not four wards — four beds! All are just building structures, no equipment for the doctors to work with. The diagnostics centre is a private facility donated to the state years ago, but the 100-bed structure is an ongoing project that has spanned three governors & doesn’t yet have power supply! 2 I understand the state has no money to give the people as lockdown palliatives, should there be the need to restrict their movement. But many in Kogi aren’t asking for palliatives; they just want their salaries, which the government is making moves to halve. It is unclear why there is no money, as the Bello administration hasn’t executed a single project since its reelection in May 2019 apart from payment of salaries. Despite receiving increased federal allocation of late due to a temporary halt of bailout deductions, the state govt was going to pay workers only 50% of their March salaries but the union fought back. April salaries haven’t been paid due to this ongoing disagreement. 3. For whatever reason, the state government believes the NCDC has politicised COVID-19 cases such that if samples are sent, they will automatically return +ve. It is a reason that defies logic, actually, but it exists all the same. Kogi has blatantly REFUSED to test. Medical experts agree that “it is a lie to say the state does not have any COVID case”, but scientifically, no one can put a figure to it. The FMC has been warned that if it breaches protocol by sending anyone’s samples to the NCDC it would be shut down on the pretext of exposure to the virus. For that the reason, the state and hospital officialdom will counter this story with all they have, rather than make amends, but the hope will be that Kogi won’t go the way of Kano before making a U-turn" https://www.legit.ng/1327321-coronavirus-anxiety-alleged-death-4-patients-covid-19-symptoms-lokoja.html?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=ps&fbclid=IwAR0zZj_PmObXuloDYHhKnBtID1gMXAF1vJOOeNSn38TGc8iLnDba-OwDMe8

Oransaye Report implementation is an indirect mass sack, many don't understand that. |
The Federal Government says it will work to ensure that there are no job losses or mass sack in Nigeria due to the coronavirus pandemic. Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, said this on Thursday, in his May Day message signed by his spokesman, Emmanuel Nzomiwu. Ngige assured that the government would look at the four-pillar plan of policy responses to the pandemic laid out by the International Labour Organisation (ILO). The minister disclosed that all relevant factors to the nation’s workforce would be identified, analysed and solidified to ensure job retention. He stated that the government would not encourage employers to disengage any member of their staff without the prerequisite social dialogue and clearance from the ministry. Ngige commended workers in the health sector for being in the frontline of ensuring that the raging pandemic was contained. “Over the years, May 1 has been a unique day in the world of work. It is a day dedicated to workers as partners in socio-economic development of nations,” he said. “The COVID-19 outbreak has affected modes of work and the utilisation of teleworking is on the increase. As you work from home, I urge you to do your best in that regard and to endeavour to demarcate your personal life from work,” he said. Ngige said that the Federal Government was not unmindful of the fact that businesses in both the private and public sectors had suffered. “Sustainability of the enterprise has become a subject of concern. The worries precipitated by the COVID-19 crisis are further compounded by worries of maintaining a source of livelihood.”, he add https://dailypost.ng/2020/04/30/coronavirus-nigerian-govt-reacts-to-fears-over-mass-sack/

Relaxation or Continuation of Lockdown Masses should be very careful at this time. The game has changed. Initially the influential people were serious about the disease, it control and management were handled with all seriousness because they were majorly affected owing to the fact that many of their relations are returnees. Some of their relations were carriers of the disease. Now the game has changed, many if not all of their relations has been tested and the infected ones has been treated. They have learned in a hard way and have keep their families in a strict lockdown even with heavy security for any stubborn one. They have generously stock their homes with all necessary needs for the next six to seven months. Shockingly the masses are now crying for the lockdown to be relaxed. some even staged protest and some are even disapproving the reality of virus.I wish they had done this in time when the government was very reluctant in closing our boarders. The influential people have nothing to loose if the lockdown is to be lifted or relaxed. They will easily succum to any degree of pressure from the masses. But they will never release their families until the traces of the virus has become zero. My advice. Let be careful and patient at this time, let support each other especially those in need. Let take responsibility. And let continue to pray that God heal our land. Let be very careful. My thoughts! |
