Obiano should do well and scrap this local government chairmen. They have proved to be useless. A tour around some parts of anambra you will notice they have stationed many touts and tax collectors on various road collecting money from bus drivers.

Main market during christmas season.. Always a heavy influx of people into Onitsha, all headed to Main Market!! If you are not certified fit enough to push through the crowd for hours just to buy few items, just don't go beyond Bright street, cos if you dare step into Lagos Line, Cooperative line and the likes... Thanks for all your contributions, another areas we need to cover and debate on are: health sector, education sector, pipe borne water, transport and security. These areas are key to our development, I knew that Obi's administration did well in health, education and he tried to revive great Onitsha water scheme I don't know how far with the project? Our hospitals: Anambra state university teaching hospital Awka, Iyi enu Hospital Ogidi, Heart & kidney dialysis centre Onitsha, Onitsha general hospital, Borome Hospital, Nnamdi Azikiwe university teaching hospital Nnewi newly built heart surgery centre Adazi and other missionary and general hospitals, nursing schools etc. Our working governor also need to focus on them also on education, I went through government house Amaobia last two months I saw red BRT buses packed and the new bustop they are fixing, sign posts, traffic lights, he is trying to improve our transport sector, if we can get pictures from health sector, eduction etc on this thread It be great.

It is very clear that the whole of West Africa comes to the Trading Center (Main Market). The huge capital inflow is a pointer to that because more and more people are still investing in plazas/malls.

I don't think it's any of that, though it extends to Inland town. It's basically a road linking Upper Iweka to Inland town

Now that Onitsha is calm and serene hope they will not take advantage of our cool-headed for cowardice. Although the security situation in the city is top-notch. I do not expect any crisis anymore.

Actually, I knew some Hausa guys that could speak Igbo when i lived in Fegge as a child.
If Hausa in Onitsha will call Onitsha home, and invest in it, and convince their brothers at the federal government to stop the war against the SE development by blocking any federal amenities meant for the area, then we truly have a country to be proud of.
But what i have just said is wishful thinking. Therefore, Onitsha will never be a no man's land because no other ethnic group in Nigeria wants to join hands to invest in it and develop it.

Since they are part of the early settlers they may claim ownership. Because those streets and roads were not named after northern names for nothing. They must have had some stakes to warrant that.

There are too many hausa people around Bida road. And they have their Mosque close by too. I am sure they are the early settlers in that area. No wonder most of the streets around the place was named after northern names. This can turn Onitsha to a "no man's land" just like Lagos..
