last tyme i travelled for xmas, we arived so late to onitsha around 10pm. instead of me dropping at onitsha, i followed the luxury bus to owerri that night and slept at their park. i 'travelled" back to onitsha the next morning

If you land Onitsha midnight sef just move on, you're covered. My only fear is that people go miss their way this year with the kind of transformation going on here. We, Onitsha residents are finding it hard to keep up sef.

What most people fail to understand is that the floodlights and streetlights in the background of those pix have been functioning for months, the only addition is the xmas decorations. Xmas or not, upper iweka has come to be.

The roads the leads to main market is seriously in the worst state and no one seems to care about it.

Though Obiano has patched up some pot holes at venn road and modebe but streets like okwei,moore streets, sanieez and the ones you mentioned above needs serious attention. The irony is that the road has been like that since past 5 yrs.


Everyone on nairaland has seen the picture of okwei street.
Okwei street is the street where peter obi was snapped while he was walking on a plank campaigning for Obiano

You are absolutely right with the state of Sanniez, Moore and Okwei streets, hope Obiano looks into it ASAP but remember Bida road is as smooth as silk now courtesy Obi and even old Cemetery road.
