I just got a date for my interview waiver. What are the documents I need to show and submit at the DHL office next week?
Anyone who has recently submitted the dropbox interview waiver should please advise? |

Prior to the U.S lifting their restrictions on drop-box, I have booked for my visa renewal application and I have a date for May 2023.
With the lifting of the restrictions, I am qualified to apply / renew my F1 visa with the drop-box.
My question is that can I do so with the previous application fees I had paid for my appointment in 2023? or do I need to pay another fee for the drop box?
Also, would i be needed to fill another application or the application I had completed earlier for my 2023 date will suffice for the drop box.
Any insights would be appreciated. |

antispexish: no it does not, and you know it does not, i mentioned hellfire to a student of that faculty recently and he does not know where im talking about, but no switch on that decoder o, let's keep people guessing. Anti Decoder. You mentioned DLI in one of your post. Only one institution in Lagos has a DLI (Named DLI). Every Akokaite who went to school around late 90s/ early 2000 will definitely know you're referring to UNILAG. |

antispexish: 10 pm I was going back to my hostel, I was suddenly hungry, I was thinking of what to eat when I remembered that I have no money to buy food, no problem , I'll just go to bed, by tommorow, I'll be in my father's house, I'll eat at home.
Nepa has not brought light , so I decided to chill outside, mosquitoes will disturb you, but not much, since there are lots of people outside, they will come, but once they see that you have agidi and wunt allow them to bite, or they feel your blood is not fresh, they just move on. It's better than being in the room anyway, with 11 other boys and the fan that not working. Some of my roomates have the biggest nose on campus, the amount of oxygen they consume is enough to affect the ozone layer, you can hear how their nose is guzzling oxygen if you wake up during the night, its as if they have and industrial plant inside them. I was always thinking that one night I'll wake up struggling to breathe cus they have consumed all the oxygen in the room.
I was sitting outside when I saw mercy among some girls, I called her and she came to sit beside me
mercy: " what happened?"
me:" what happened how?" mercy:" what happened between you and toke"
me:" nothing happened between us"( I thought she was trying to know if we had s*x)
mercy: " I came back to the room , I did not see you, I asked where you are from toke and she snapped at me, well...., I gave it to your girlfriend back o, I dnt have Time for nonsense. I did not do anything to her na, why should she be shouting at me, but as I see you here now, I figured that the problem is you "
I realised later that they really shouted at each other, according to one of their roomate, she said that there fight was incoherent , neither knew why the other was angry and reason for the fight, they were just angry and then yelled at each other
During our discussion, mercy told me about how toke was into me real bad, that I should not disappoint her(mercy), well I want to get into her real bad too, litterarily!. We discussed toke for a while and then she talked about why she too was angry, she believed that David went to meet uzoma, she has gone to his room several times and she did not meet him their, she had hanged outside our hostel for hours, yet no sign of him. She was furious, knowing that her dad's driver is coming to pick her up tomorrow morning and she wunt be back until Monday. We joked a little about her not seeing her her boyfriend for days and she reminded me of what I said earlier about absence making the heart grow fonder.
After a while she said she had wanted to buy chicken barbecue but the guy was just doing a new batch, that's why she was still outside, she also hoped to still see David. I escorted her to the guy who makes the barbecue, the guy said chicken has finished , its only turkey that's remaining. mercy raved and cursed for like five minutes , informing the guy that she had booked earlier, why should he not have preserved her own.
me: " cool down, there nothing you can do again, the guy done sell am. You should have known this people by now, you did not pay down, you expect them to preserve something for you, lai lai"
mercy:" but he knows me" (facing the barbecue guy)" abi you no know me" barbecue guy: " aunty mercy, I know you na, a beg no veX for me"
With the guy mentioning mercy's name, I realised she is regular customer, I made a silent prayer that toke should not be a regular customer too o, I dnt know which is more expensive, ice cream or chicken barbecue, and I don't think I want to know sef! After much pleading mercy accepted to buy the turkey barbecue, "what is the hullabaloo sef", I thought, "what's the difference between chicken and Turkey," all where the same to me.(readers are they different?)
mercy: "anti, will you eat" me: " no, I'm trying to be a vegetarian" mercy: (looking at me first with neck and head bent to the side, then facing the barbecue guy)" a beg give us two jare, he is just joking, anti is rejecting turkey"(laughing)" hell will freeze over that day"
me:" you are doing as if you know me again, you dnt know me o" mercy : (she kept on laughing) " nobody knows you anti, but I know that the day you reject turkey, or food for matter, that's the day the world will end"
We were in that jolly mood when we bought the turkey, we were even eating it as I escorted mercy to her hostel, all of a sudden she got serious, she told me she wanted to discourse something with me and made me promise not to tell anyone. she said" anti, I'm afraid David is now a cult boy!"
stay tuned ....... will try adding another tonight(not sure), and I will mention all that asked to be mentioned. Those who attended UNILAG will know that you were referring to UNILAG. And your hostel is probably MAKAMA or SODEINDE hall. Mercy and Toke probably lives in FAGUNWA hall. UFOMA lives in MOREMI. Am I right? |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Monster HR Personnels; A Nightmare For Job Seekers. Share Your Experience by ymx(m): 8:33pm On Nov 14, 2016 |
Adebimpe1: A Senior HR professional who think asking personal questions are wrong really needs to buckle up. Organizations differ, and questions relating to the job being interviewed for are to be asked, as the case may be.
But then, you don't just ask questions relating to the job alone. It is quite advisable to get to know the candidates you're interviewing. No one will ask you about your family problems, how many times you've been with a woman, or other nasty questions. But questions relating to alcohol, drugs, temper-based, psychological, emotional and stress-related questions are often times viewed as personal questions.
Most job seekers do not actually understand what personal questions are. A candidates that sees "how often do you take alcohol" questions as being personal and decline to answer, will certainly get drunk to the plant, gets himself killed and put the lives of others at risk.
As a professional in the HR, you will not want to recruit someone with anger problems. Most times, candidates lose the chance of getting a well paid job because they refuse to answer certain question. Most candidates even sees "why did you graduate with 2-2 when your mates had 1st class" questions as personal. Not all interviews require job-based questions. As a professional. I only need to ask you two questions that only people very experienced in the field will know. You guys in the HR often ask unrelated questions, and ends up recruiting the wrong guys who ends up destroying the whole job.
As for my post, I used the word "silly" to emphasize on it being used by the young man who replied me. The questions that I have mentioned above are seen as "silly" by most Nigerian job seekers. I was like that until I lost several offers.
Finally, I represent my company in good light, even though you're fighting hard to believe that. I am not going to argue on this topic. I think it depends on the part of the world we live and work. In my part of the world, you cannot dabble into personal unrelated question with a candidate / potential employee. |

Adebimpe1: I see you! 90% of Nairalanders only post silly comment and it's certainly clear you're at the top of the class. If you seriously think I need training on what you mentioned, then I will like to meet up with you to rate your level of IQ.
I work as a senior manager for The AES Corporations, a fortune 200 company, registered with the NYSE and generates a profit of more than 5 billion dollars annually, and about 123 guys reports to me directly. I single handedly recruited my own team, and led a project of $350 million to completion. My own team, that I recruited personally generates more than $5 million monthly for my company and please know, that I asked them "silly" questions during the interview stages.
I am a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, a change advocate and process driver (am not sure you know what that means) For you record, there's not more than 20 ASQ certified Black Belts in the whole of Nigeria. So, do you still think I need your training?
If you're jobless, email me and I'd arrange an interview for you. Pls, be warned, I will only ask silly questions. The more silly I get, the more your chances of getting a job from me. Well, I am a Sr. HR professional and I work for a fortune 5 company with revenue of approx $200 billion annually. I can tell you for a fact that asking unprofessional and personal questions in an interview is crossing the line. I can see your company's HQ is in Virginia, USA.. I don't think you are representing them well with your comments on social media admitting to ask unrelated and personal questions during interview. You need to be careful!! |

Adebimpe1: Very funny how we all want to be employed but are not willing to answer simple questions. If I had a company and I'm willing to recruit new guys, I certainly will ask questions, regarded as "dumb" by candidates. These "dumb" questions are simply meant to test you psychological limits, how far you can stretch emotionally, and also to see if you've got anything to hide.
It is not an offence, neither is it "personal" to ask candidates if he/she takes alcohol, even though the job has nothing to do with alcohol. I wouldn't employ a dirty drinker, or someone who feels relationship questions are personal, and should not be asked in interviews. If I wanted to recruit for a certain position, I will go as far as asking silly questions, to see how the candidate would handle issues in a tight situation, especially if the situation has to do with his/her ego. I will never employ someone who gets angry at the slightest push, thereby making me lose clients and customers.
I once attended one interview and the HR guy asked what I was doing in school that I graduated with 2:2 when my mates were breezing past 2:1. Well, I blew it and asked him; "what was your own grade"? and I did lose the Job that would have gotten me 275K monthly as at 2009.
Bottom line: Be humble, be patient, answer all questions like your close pally asked you. With that, it will seem normal and they will even love you for being so natural, and the job will be yours. It is not appropriate no matter what you are testing for to ask candidates personal and unrelated questions during interview. It is grossly a lack of employment laws or HR professionals not adhering to employment laws. By asking personal questions or questions not related to the job, you are opening your organization up for legal law suit. Well again, I am referring to a system that works and I not even sure folks have rights in Nigeria, so anything goes. That is why HR people would ask questions unrelated to the job and get away with it. |

The son could yes be capable. But ethics do not permit what he has done. There surely would be conflicts of interest and I am sure he would be able to perform his assign duties without been baised. emmysenior: What if his son is capable?
Why do you think it's wrong?
Is it against the Nigerian constitution?
Was it because it's his son?
I just hate sentimental judgements.

Ngwakwe: How will the dust oozing out from the road over time be managed considering high temperature and low humidity in our clime?
At a speed of 120km/h the vehicle behind yours may have visibility problem when the road starts degenerating. If properly done, I dont see dust oozing out from the road. Alot of roads in the US are made out of cement and I dont see it oozing. my only concern is friction when the roads are wet or cold. The cold is less of a concern because of the weather in Nigeria. I think it is a good development and if properly done will last longer. |

Well even if we have the social amenities in place. e.g Light, good roads etc. Nigerian doctors in the U.S won't come back home. I don't think you guys know what this doctors make in the US. A fresh graduate from medical school in the US after residence make an average of $130, 000 to $150,000 a year. you can make more if you specialize, so who will leave all that and relocate to where you will be making less than 2, 000,000 naira a year. If you are a doctor with over 10 years of experience in the US, you could make as much as $500,000 a year. So Nigeria needs to fix it economy first to attract Nigerian in the US. |
