The problem is carrying the patient which is the responsibility of a group of people called "porters".
Government won't employ porters. They won't even employ enough doctors,nurses etc

It's like giving a Bricklayer a massive job,you don't hire labour for him and you expect him to work well.

A diabetic patient once fainted right in front of me... I rushed towards him sat him up and I saw a Dr approaching, immediately I called, doc pls help out, he came asked d man jst two questions and walked straight into his car.... He jst finished his call(duty) and was on his way home....he asked me to call a nurse.... What Nigerians don't understand is that the healthcare sector is grossly UNDERSTAFFED.
Statistics are being released everytime to show total number of doctors and nurses in Nigeria to attend to over 200 million people.

Most times the teams are never complete( just about 30 percent). That means each staff will be doing 3 people's job.

Staff have complained to management and policy makers and nothing is being done. I guess they prefer to buy new cars , renovate and loot while the masses keep blaming the doctors and nurses.


The effect is what you have experienced.

There are some hospitals here in abk I don’t want to mention, one’s your water break and vagina is still less than 10cm and they already place you on induction drip for 6 or 12 hours you are going for CS, some hospitals even persuade their patient to do CS prior to their delivery date that it’s painless and stress free…A lot I know and I don’t want to talk about..

I think it’s right time for every family to have one or two family member in medical field, a friend wife labored for 3 days at a clinic owned by his family member, she gave birth the 3rd night with no complications.
The stubborn boy thought he was coming to the world to tap palm wine, he wrapped his hand, leg and neck with the umbilical cord thereby making it difficult for the strong woman to push him out.
I’m very sure most hospitals even abroad would deliver the baby through CS…They didn’t give up on the pregnant woman because she was their family so they put in more than their best to make sure the woman gave birth without any complications..

Babies are delivered with cord around the neck everytime here in Lagos-go and confirm.

That’s has nothing to do with the Government. The CMD of the Hospital has to be held responsible…Tje Government and some philanthropists Gives massively to the hospital but the CMR and other executives Keeps all to theirselves and remit lean revenue to the government .

Now don't say things that will put you in trouble o. Do you have evidence to back up claim that the index hospital received "massively "from government and philanthropists?

I have met with a hospital manager 2 months ago to make certain enquires and when she showed me their income and expenditure, I knew there will always be problems. The money the hospital spends is more than what is coming in. How can they deliver proper healthcare?

Well, I advise you either involve a elder in your town and have a meeting with them or possibly involve the police or a lawyer.
