PoliticsThe Real Solution To Farmers/herders Clash That Nobody Is Talking About by youngEmelex(op): 7:31am On Jul 11
All these peace talks organized by communities cannot end this farmers/herders clash. This outdated method of cattle rearing by Fulani herders will always cause a clash because most communities no longer have reserved lands. Everyone is either building or farming on their lands. A clear details about this is in the image below. If you no longer want Fulani herders in your communities, you must keep them out of business. When they get starved of income, they will be forced to adjust

I met a historian who told me that what happened before 1967 when over 30,000 Igbos were killed and what happened after the pogrom is what is currently called bandit attack in Nigeria. They say you guys are clamouring for state police still baffles me.

The police you have already, what good have they done? Aren't more of them still from your vicinity? Did it stop harassment or extortion?
State Police is the way to go because before the Federal police arrives at a crime scene, the criminals have fled already. But state police will enable police presence in every community
PoliticsDebunking False Jihad Claims In Nigeria by youngEmelex(op): 12:28am On Jun 14
Criminal Fulani Herders never said they are interested in toppling the government. I don't know where the people got the idea of jihad from. These guys are criminals who decided to make a living through banditry and kidnapping. We once had a group in Ikorodu, Lagos referred to as Badoo. This group attacks households at midnight and smash the heads of their victims using stones. This group was deadlier than Fulani militia yet nobody claimed that Badoo was fighting to conquer Nigeria. To solve the issue of banditry and kidnapping, state police must be created then the govt must tackle illiteracy, unemployment, hunger and poverty at the grassroots.

We never saw any Badoo reciting Allah Akbar. We see the terrorists do so all the time.
Don't mistake bandits for BokoHaram, they are not same. BokoHaram is the only group screaming Allahu Akbar and they are yet to overrun Maiduguri in 17 years so they are on an impossible mission to islamize Nigeria. If BokoHaram cannot conquer a single community in over 17 years, how can they conquer a single town, talk more of a LGA. It will take them another 200,000 years to conquer the whole country with over 250 million people and 36 states. Bandits on the other hand don't shout Allahu Akbar when they kidnap citizens from the highway. They only demand ransom from their victims
AgricultureHave You Heard Of Hybrid Plantain Farming? by youngEmelex(op): 6:58pm On Jun 13
There is a specie of plantain that can produce upto 90 fingers a bunch. It is called hybrid plantain. This species is the best for any plantain plantation. The regular plantain species will give you between 20 - 40 fingers per bunch. This hybrid species bunches sell between 10k - 15k depending on your location but the regular species sell between 3k - 6k also depending on your location. Another advantage of this hybrid species is that it survives dry season unlike the regular species. I have a plantation with over 100 suckers but I loose more than 50 suckers each year during the dry season but with this hybrid species, I am hopeful to that the losses will not be more than 20 each year. It is also very hard to make up to 1million yearly from the regular species depending on the farm size though but with this hybrid species, only 100 suckers will give you a million yearly.

They are already working towards fighting the government. You can see their effrontery already. They now display their faces publicly for anybody who cares to see. If the coup plot against Tinubu had been successful, bandits and terrorists would have eventually taken over the country. We need Tinu to be ousted already, else we are sitting on a ticking time bomb.
where is the evidence that you have to prove that they will fight against the government? Who told you that criminal Fulani herders are interested in taking power? These guys just want to make money from kidnapping. We once have more dangerous groups like Badoo in Ikorodu, Lagos. Badoo was raiding homes and smashing people's head, more deadlier than the bandits. Why didn't you accuse them of trying to islamize Nigeria?
PoliticsRe: This Is Why Terrorists Have Quadrupled After Buhari Left Office by youngEmelex: 5:27pm On Jun 13
This post cannot make it to frontpage. How do you expect the mods to push such claims that will raise tensions? Bandits are not after islamization of the country like the Talibans in Afghanistan. If they want to islamize the country, they won't be hiding in the bushes and kidnapping people for ransome. They will launch attacks on government institutions and aim at dislodging the state governors as seen in Mali recently. What we see in Nigeria is a case of government failure to address poverty and unemployment in the grassroots. Fulani militia are criminals and can be contained with creation of state police
PoliticsGovernment Is Overwhelmed By Insecurity Not Complicit by youngEmelex(op): 4:34pm On Jun 13
I have come across so many narratives that Tinubu's government is the sponsor of this insecurity. This same propaganda was carried by Nnamdi Kanu and his followers claiming that the late Buhari used BokoHaram to remove Jonathan from power. All these claims cannot be real because the reason why Buhari was even elected in 2015 was because Jonathan was clueless on how to handle BokoHaram and Buhari being a retired Major General looked more competent to tackle the insurgent group. BokoHaram was eventually technically defeated and there was no longer news of bombing churches, parks, mosques etc but unfortunately, they regrouped in 2024. Even though BokoHaram has regrouped, they are not the group responsible for these recent abductions and demand for ransom. The group responsible for these current attacks are Fulani militia and these escalated as a result of hardship and joblessness

PoliticsMy Candid Advice To Less Privileged Nigerians by youngEmelex(op): 10:36pm On Jun 09
I have followed the insecurity crisis in Nigeria since 2009 and I can tell you my observations.
1. BokoHaram or bandits have never attacked any commercial city since 2009. The targets have been only remote and idle villages.
2. BokoHaram or bandits don't have bases in any state that doesn't have 60% poverty rate.
3. BokoHaram or bandits have not attacked any state that has good road networks and infrastructure.
4. BokoHaram or bandits have never operated in a state with a population of over 40% educated people.
In summary, 98% of BokoHaram's victims are the less privileged in Nigeria. From my research so far, any life that doesn't add value is almost worthless. Most less privileged Nigerians have refused to embrace education and self development. They rather remain in their idle villages mass reproducing like rabbits and adding no value to society. This is the major reason why hundreds of them will be killed and no news channel will report it. Assuming those villages are into massive production the same way they are mass reproducing, they will attract foreign investors which in return will attract massive development and security to their villages. If for instance, a village goes into massive production of tomatoes, they will attract foreign tomato paste companies and this will automatically turn their village into a commercial hub. But if their men should marry 4 wives each, one family will have 200 children and the resources will no longer be enough for them. Their community automatically becomes a harbouring ground for terrorists and then people will be killed in their thousands without consequences
PoliticsBandits Will Run A Parallel Government If Not Contained Asap by youngEmelex(op): 10:29pm On Jun 07
Nigeria may have similar experiences like some countries in the middle east where there are groups like Hezbollah, Hamas etc. With bandits acquiring more weapons and raising huge funds, a time will come when they can stand their ground and openly confront the military. If they can kidnap and hold hostages for a duration of 2 months without military interference, it's obvious that their strongholds can no longer be penetrated by security forces. In Plateau state for instance, they have ceased villages and are comfortably living there without any possible military actions. In Lebanon, Hezbollah is running their parallel government and they make decisions without the interference of the country's main leadership. If bandits are not contained now that it's still early, a time will come when they will have total control and the states that they occupy cannot go against them

This may sound ridiculous but BokoHaram is no longer as strong as they used to be. BokoHaram once attacked high profile prisons in this country and released their members. They once attacked a governor's convoy. Even the city of Maiduguri almost got surrounded by BokoHaram. They mounted their flags in 17 LGAs and had their bases there. Currently, BokoHaram only go for soft targets. They no longer have any known base. They aren't occupying any community, they only hit and run. Gone are the days when they had the audacity to attack government institutions. All their known leaders have been neutralized with only a few remnant left
PoliticsWe Are Gradually Seeing The Results Of Tinubu's Reforms by youngEmelex(op): 8:50pm On Jun 05
Why are people surprised at the results we are getting from Tinubu's reforms? Under Jonathan when a cup of garri was 10 naira, many people still slept without food in their stomachs. What then do you expect at a time when a cup of garri is 200 naira? One expected these reforms to come after the government must have revamped the refineries and invested massively in Agriculture. If food becomes surplus and the refineries are functional, any reform can follow without the people dying of hunger. Now, the people have refused to die of hunger and have gone into banditry to survive. In the South, we have online bandits (Yahoo boys) while in the north, we have forest bandits. These reforms come with pains but politicians are investing heavily in luxury not human capital development. Let us pretend as if we don't know where all these insecurities and problems are coming from for as long as we can but the realities of life will keep steering at our faces wether we like it or not

Since last month, different pages on social media have been posting about bandits. I don't really understand why people should be giving bandits free publicity. Even social media influencers and celebrities have joined in spreading these rumors using their pages. I saw a video claiming that bandits have entered Lagos and surprisingly, Verydarkblackman and one of the Psquare twins shared same video on their pages. The worst of them all are those doing videos and claiming that Jihadists will soon overrun Nigeria. Bandit simply means thief. These are just common criminals who are exploiting the advantage of difficult forest terrains in remote and border communities to cause mayhem. If the government should be serious and create state police, people from those areas who understand their terrain will end this banditry in the space of one week.

PoliticsThe Fulani Militias Terrorizing Nigeria Are Criminals Not Jihadists by youngEmelex(op): 11:27am On Jun 02
There is nothing like Fulani jihadist in Nigeria. The ones terrorizing Nigeria are only interested in getting money from kidnapping. If these guys are jihadists, to conquer the whole south would have been very simple. They will simply use the politicians and leaders of the south to conquer the south. The leaders of the south are mostly unstable and can dance to any tune to remain relevant. Also, jihadists doesn't need to enter the south to conquer it. What they will do is to target Abuja which is the Federal capital. Once Abuja falls and they make announcements from there, all these southern governors will abandon their states and flee.
PoliticsCan A Trader Like Peter Obi Defeat Insecurity When A Major General Couldn't by youngEmelex(op): 12:53am On Jun 02
Buhari's government announced that it has technically defeated BokoHaram in 2016. This claim was both true and false. True because BokoHaram attacks reduced drastically and there was nothing like bomb blast in churches and parks anymore. False because BokoHaram continued to maintain their bases in lake Chad basin and Sambisa forest. Buhari who was once a commanding officer in the military couldn't push BokoHaram completely out of the country so how then can Peter Obi a trader achieve such feat? Does Peter Obi have what it takes to restructure the military or will he secure our borders using any strategy different from what we have seen so far. Will he deploy drones that can track terrorists movement through thick forests or will he import foreign machineries? Hope we are not going to see another massive failure in the fight against insurgency after all these speeches he is delivering. I think he should try and secure the votes he will get this time around before talking about securing the country

OP using desperate lies and revisionism to indict Yorubas is amusing to me.

For example, he claimed "Yoruba judge" jailed Kanu.
How did the case get to the table of Judge Omotosho if not for Kanu demanding the judge originally handling his case, Binta Murtala-Nyako, recuse herself?

Was it the Tinubu Government that executed the entrapment and renditioning of Kanu form Kenya?
For clearity sake, The majority of people in government as at the time of jailing Kanu are Yorubas. Tinubu has the power to send Kanu back to Kenya where he was abducted but he decided not to. I am not a fan of Nnamdi Kanu because of how unprofessional he was but the menace of Fulani militia which escalated the unrest was never addressed
PoliticsRe: The Yorubas Are About To Share Same Fate With The Igbos by youngEmelex(op): 12:13am On Jun 01
Hi
FxMasterz:
There are two lies in your post.

1. Yoruba created Amotekun before Kanu created ESN.

2. ESN was killing fellow Igbos. They didn't fight any Fulani militia. The government crushed them for being a criminal organization. Moreso, Kanu is not part of government. Only government can create a regional outfit. Not a layman like Kanu.
Was ESN a criminal organization before Fulani militia? Why was the later crushed before the former if you reason well?
PoliticsThe Yorubas Are About To Share Same Fate With The Igbos by youngEmelex(op): 9:22pm On May 31
The Igbos desperately wanted one Nigeria from the beginning. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Odimegwu Ojukwu, Aguyi Ironsi all fought hard to keep Nigeria one. When Isaac Adaka Boro wanted the Niger Delta to break away from Nigeria, the Igbos were at the forefront of crushing that revolution. In 1966, Adaka Boro established the Niger Delta Volunteer Force, an armed group primarily composed of members of the Ijaw ethnic group, and proclaimed the Niger Delta Republic on 23 February 1966. This declaration led to a conflict with federal forces, lasting twelve days before Boro and his associates were apprehended by Ojukwu led soldiers and later charged with treason. Just a year later, the table turned on Ojukwu and he suffered the same fate as Isaac Adaka Boro after he declared Biafra. Fast forward to this present day. Nnamdi Kanu created a security outfit when he saw that Fulani militia were causing mayhem in some parts of the Southeast, the Yorubas were at the forefront of crushing that security outfit and it was a Yoruba judge that sentenced Kanu to life in prison. Few years after that, the Yorubas are creating their own security outfit to contain the influx of Fulani militia. The same way Ojukwu later became victim of what he did to Adaka Boro is the same way the Yorubas will fall victim to what they did to the Igbos trying to protect themselves from Fulani militia massacre. Both tribes are currently sharing the same fate

Ukraine has resisted Russia for 5 years and counting. Most people thought Ukraine will fall in 5 months, but this is 5 years and they are still gallantly fighting. When Israel launched attack on Hamas, everyone expected Hamas to be obliterated but yet, they still have fighters till date. Same with Iran, despite loosing their leaders on the first day of war, yet they fought until America forcefully returned to the negotiation table. These analogies bring me to my topic which is on how Ojukwu abandoned Biafrans and fled just in 2 and half years of war forcing the remnant soldiers to surrender. Ojukwu had the home advantage even though he doesn't have the war equipment to match that of Nigerian forces. He would have adopted guerilla warfare. Nigerian forces were encroaching into your territory for crying out loud, what stopped you from digging trenches and laying ambushes for them. Cut off your major roads, lock your territory and destroy any intruding object wether living or non living thing. Could you imagine that BokoHaram has not been conquered in 17 years by the same forces that destroyed Ojukwu within 2 years. BokoHaram doesn't have upto a million people neither do they have home base yet they stand undefeated in 17 years. Even the militants in the Niger Delta dealt with Buhari and his Navy in 2016 until Buhari surrendered and opted for negotiations instead. Simon Ekpa's militia headed by Gentle d Yahoo ceased territories and mounted Biafran flag for 5 years until Finland jailed him. So how did Ojukwu loose to these people who have never won any war in their history. This simply shows that Ojukwu was a big time failure who the Igbos would never had trusted. I even read that he killed experienced warlords like Victor Banjo and some others when he himself knew nothing about warfare

PoliticsNigeria Could Have Over 90 Million Bandits by youngEmelex(op): 10:01pm On May 29
US just released a report that Nigeria has around 30,000 bandits terrorizing remote areas and villages but in the real sense, the bandits in Nigeria are over 90 million. The truth here is that most bandits in Nigeria have no access to firearms but they are occupying government and public offices diverting millions mapped out for infrastructure and the development of their communities. What about Nigerians selling fake drugs and drinks? These are all unarmed bandits. We still have thousands of terrorists sympathizers even here on nairaland supporting the killings of people by Islamic mob in the name of blasphemy. What about APC supporters on every comment section on nairaland throwing tantrums? This is a party that has been declared a terrorist unit in Canada for making elections violent and snatching ballot boxes yet their supporters are all over nairaland. In summary, the bandits in Nigeria are over 90 million and will do worse than the armed bandits in the bushes if they lay their hands on firearms
