“This is the chicken which Cross River State government is feeding primary school pupils in Cross River State.

The SSA on Home Grown Feeding Program to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State is bringing this chicken from Uyo. Fry them there and then begin to transport them to Cross River State. This is apart from deduction of 15 Thousand Naira from the monies paid to the food vendors.

This chicken is fried and stored under serious unhealthy and unhygienic conditions.

By the time they fried the chicken and bring to Calabar, some are already rotten and smelling before they reach places like Odukpani, Akampkpa, Biase, Yakurr, Obubra, etc.

It is very bad that government can be this mean. It is so sad that people appointed to serve are the same people fowling the efforts of the federal government in Cross River State.

If Ayade children were studying in Cross River State, would he allow SSA feed his children with this rotten chicken?

Suspected Ritualist kills and removes eyes of 2-year-old boy – Graphic picture
Yensah Vivian Peter, a Nurse at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, Taraba State , posted a picture of a 2-year-old boy who was killed, his eyes gouged out and the body dumped by the road side.

His body was reportedly brought to Sunkani Hospital and Yensah Vivian Peter shared the pictures of the boy and wrote,

“I plead with parents and guidance to be more careful with their children, this 2 yrs old boy was brought to sunkani hospital this morning in this condition already death.”

If the eyes were removed by a ritualist or not is yet to be confirmed.

The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) has warned Nigerians, especially youths, to “love wisely or buy condoms’’ as they prepare to celebrate this year’s Valentine’s Day on February 14.

Sani Aliyu, the Director General, NACA, gave the advice in a statement issued by the Head, Public Relations and Protocol of the agency, Toyin Aderibigbe, in Abuja on Monday

The statement quoted Aliyu as saying: “As we express love on this day, remember to love wisely.

“As members of the wider society, your health and productivity is vital to the future of our country.

“I urge you also to take advantage of the spirit of love and togetherness that the Valentine’s Day signifies to know your HIV status.’’

He said that knowing one’s HIV status was necessary because of the present high prevalence rate of HIV infection among young persons aged between 15 and 24 inNigeria.

“It is important to reduce this worrying trend among Nigerian youths by encouraging faithful relationships; for those who cannot abstain from sex, the use of barrier protection such as condoms is advised.

“Condoms prevent Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs), HIV and unwanted pregnancies.

“The practice of having multiple sexual partners increases HIV vulnerability among the youth population alongside the very low HIV testing rates.

“It is worthwhile to know that only 17 per cent of young people know their HIV status; as such this is alarming enough to make them avoid risky behaviours.

“They should share love and not HIV,’’ the statement further quoted the NACA boss as saying.

A 29-year-old virgin named Lauren is pregnant with her first child after going against her doctor and religious family’s advice and finding a sperm donor. And she never had sex.

Lauren who is from a Manitoban community in Canada, is expecting the baby in June and feels the happy news will help her not have to deal with dating, something she doesn’t want to do.

Lauren said she considers herself happy being alone and she intends to remain a virgin for the rest of her life. She even confessed that she dislike kissing

Despite the good news, however, Lauren also suffers from hypopituitarism which is a rare disorder that affects a person’s hormones and is something she has struggled with since she was younger.

“I was born with hypopituitarism, which means my pituitary gland is not formed properly. It doesn’t send the right hormonal messages to the other glands in the body, like the adrenaline gland or the ovaries.”

Lauren’s disorder made her to experience puberty a lot later in life and she was constantly teased for being different from her peers.

“I got teased for being flat chested or having buck teeth. Kids would latch on to anything that was different. A lot of that teasing has given me social anxiety to this day. My life started improving when I started looking like everyone else.”

Although she has no plans to find someone in the future, she admitted to going on a couple of dates in the past but realized it’s not something she liked.

Although she had difficulties with her school days and dating life, Lauren said that getting pregnant was actually the hardest challenge she’s ever been through.

“The hardest thing was probably getting pregnant. Initially my endocrinologist said it won’t happen, that I’ll need to get an egg donor and spend tens of thousands of dollars on IVF. I felt really shut down.”

Her doctor still referred her to a clinic and after waiting for a year, she happily found out she was expecting. Lauren comes from a deeply religious family but she insists getting pregnant in this way had nothing to do with religion.

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Tayo Ogunleye for claiming to be a marketing manager at Shoprite, Ibabdan and in the process defrauded job seekers with the promise to get them a job.

The state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, said the suspect charged his victims some amount of money and promised to provide them with jobs at the retailing company.

According to Odude, the suspect usually issued his victims fake appointment letters after they completed the payment.

Odude said:

“The suspect, who posed as the marketing manager of Shoprite, defrauded 28 complainants by promising them jobs that never existed. He obtained various sums of money from them and to convince them, he issued several fake appointment letters on the letterhead of the multi-national company.

“His arrest at the Apata area of Ibadan on January 31, 2018, followed a complaint made against him at a police station by Yusuf Yekeen, who was one of Ogunleye’s numerous victims.”

One of the victims identified as Adeola said:

“I am a building engineer and I also handle interior decoration. He took me there (Shoprite) and we went round together. He said some shops needed repairs and new ones needed to be constructed. He also said extension work would soon begin at the complex.

“He gave me the impression that he was in charge of contracting the jobs out as a manager of the company. I believed him because things were hard for me and I needed a job to feed my family. The economy of the country limits job offers for artisans like me because people are concerned with spending money on food, school fees and other more important things than building houses or fixing interiors of their houses.

“He later entered a shop and said he wanted to discuss with someone. I thought we were to enter together, but he asked me to wait outside.

“When he came out, he held an envelope to deceive me and give himself a corporate image. I did not know what was inside. He asked me to complete the payment so that I could move in and begin to work. I raised a total of N100,000 for him.”

A young father has had to face the worst of times after his wife died during childbirth. Ida and Mustafa were a popular social media couple who documented their pregnancy journey.

Unfortunately, their joy was cut short shortly after they welcomed their son as the wife, Ida, passed on A young father named Mustafa has had his worst fears play out right before his eyes. Mustafa was the happiest man on earth a while ago but lost his beautiful wife during childbirth and his life story changed. Mayorkun took to his Instagram account to reveal that he lost his chain after he performed at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He wrote that as a result of the theft, he doesn’t know he feels.
