But honestly, ronaldo wasn't our problem last season as some people here make it seem.We struggled last season due to our abysmal defense, poor midfield and poor coaching. The big personale change has been what has made us improve this term.At least five new faces in our first team this season is massive. Also, the coaching methods of our previous caoches, Ole , rangnick were too poor and was never going to make us play better.
Inasmuch as eth is a good manager,if the same regulars who featured last season, especially the defense (Maguire, lindof, awb,Mcfred),all begin starting again, the rubbish performance we produced last season would be repeated even with a better coach.Spare Ronaldo the blame

Winning both games is not an impossible task, though difficult. If we are to push our top four aims soundly,we should be striving to win these games against our rivals. At least, they aren't mancity

This gvardiol looks a very impressive player.
His ball playing skills is world class if you ask me.I believe he can be one of the very best players in the world in his position in no distant time
Roland17:
The GOAT finishes 8th which is a false representation to me. I thought Bellingham had a far more impressive season than Gabu, same with Musiala. Nuno Mendes/ Gravenberch/ Gvardiol did not have a better season than the GOAT!

His lack of UCL appearances is by far the biggest thing holding him back.

1. Gavi (Barcelona)
2. Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid)
3. Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich)
4. Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund)
5. Nuno Mendes (Paris Saint-Germain)
6. Ryan Gravenberch (Ajax/Bayern Munich)
7. Josko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig)
8. Bukayo Saka (Arsenal)
9. Karim Adeyemi (Red Bull Salzburg/Borussia Dortmund)
10. Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen)

If we can get maximum points from Tottenham and Chelsea this week ,I think it would give us the momentum we need to go on a winning streak. The morale boost would be helpful

[quote author=Expert17 post=117647833]So ETH, OLE, Carrick, Ragnick and Portugal coach don't have football sense to know he's not good enough?

The same man that benched 5-Ballon d'or winner can't bench Useless Bruno, you guys deserve Lingard and Perriera.

He's an AM, his job is to create goals for the team and he's one of the best in that. If we ask you to mention a replacement, hope you won't mention DVD and Coutinho grin

Bruno is actually better than our present midfielders in that role, that's why he's being fielded by the coaches. However, his current competitors are not quality for him to be judged with them.If we are looking to be a more dominant team you can agree with me that he has to improve on his game.
Do you think guardiola would love Bruno in his team despite his brilliance?.He need to know how to manipulate the ball better at tight spaces and dribble to create chances. His ahead ahead style of play is not helpful some times. His play is more suitable for a counterattacking team
He can still be benched if Eric get his players in the transfer window.Eric playing him does not mean he is fully satisfied with his performances
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Youngzero2(m): 8:27pm On Oct 17, 2022
ovoP:
The bruno hate, is forced recently.. man has been our best player in the past 2 games.. pressing winning the ball creating chances, but for some reason most people on twitter. Will come out and say the reason we play bad is his fault.. our not breaking opponent, has to do with our style of play and poor wingers..
Bruno is a very good player no doubt. However, his inability to beat the press often times or progress the ball with dribbles is hindering team at present.Especially, against low blocks
I think stats in football is giving a wrong perception of ability and performance
As a midfielder in the modern game, press resistance and a strong technical ability is very important.
When you watch modric, iniesta,Kross you don't see numbers but you see the most gifted players on the pitch through their elegance on the ball.

The goalkeeper didn't touch the ball when the ball was passed to him. That was never a goal, plus the intention was that the it was the goalkeeper that will play the ball.

I would like to ask, when is a freekick supposed to be played? Is it Before, during or after the whistle have been blown?
Yea, but the ref blew before the player passed to the keeper.
I think it was a case of Ronaldo playing to the whistle. These rules just dey confuse person

Antony to always pass the ball to a player in a better position and not try to find Ronaldo every time...I noticed a good number of times yesterday where he sought to find Ronaldo instead of a pass to another teammate...
.

I guess is him wanting the tag of Antony Ronaldo partnership trend.Maybe so the pull off another viral celebration grin
He should just stop looking for personal glory and play a normal game abeg.I was frustrated with some good openings he messed up, especially right before halftime, when he was trying to find a closely marked Ronaldo
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Youngzero2(m): 10:44am On Oct 17, 2022
Abeg, who knows why the ref cancelled Ronaldo's goal yesterday.
The ref blew his whistle and the goal keeper played his spot kick before Ronaldo nipped in.
Wasn't it similar to the one nani scored against tottheham some years back?

But why is nobody ignoring this tottheham team, they have been picking up important points silently.
For me,they are serious contenders, even for the title and the fact that they have gone about their business silently, without pressure makes it even more dangerous for the opponents.

I believe you said this during Brentford
You said this during Tottenham
Also said it during Liverpool

Una no dey tire?? grin grin

Meanwhile, you've even got harder test in Newcastle than us that's facing Leeds grin
Leeds are an intense pressing team, and you guys had a midweek game where almost your first teamers played in so the difference in energy levels would play a part here.
If Leeds sticks to there high intense pressing team,it would surely cause you problems. They can cause turnovers in your build up,and potentially create good chances from it.The only problem be say I no trust their coach,he fit go decide to pack bus which will favour you guys, but if he sticks to the beilsa's philosophy, and take advantage of their fitness level,I'm sure they can nick something from this game.
As for newscastle,We always beat them.Forget their recent form,na our second wife after Chelsea be that grin.Besides they have a couple of their first teamers injured,I don't think they would be as threatening as they have been this season.Fingers crossed though.

Mata should have been an integral member of our team and should have played a more prominent role.I'm not saying this because of this game-we understand this game might be of little consequence, but he(mata) offers something different, unique and important to the rest of the squad:elite link up play and ball retentiveness.
What he lacks in brawn and speed he makes up in intelligence, guile and finesse.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Youngzero2(m): 11:28pm On May 02, 2022
There was a time under Mourinho where we had matic,Pogba ,mata, mhymetaryan and either of rashford/martial playing together with a striker,I think lukaku.
We where fluid, creative and scored goals then(remember the era of 4-0 wins). This changed when Mourinho coward from that against little stoke, removed mata and played two dm.Result,we drew the game and lost momentum.I don't even think Mourinho used that winning lineup any longer. If it's not broken, why fix it.
Overload the midfield with as creative, highly ball retentive players and watch how you get enough of chances each game.
Last season or two too,I think one of our best games in terms of fluidity was against everton in a cup game.I was impressed by how ole flooded the game with midfielders (vdb,Pogba,Bruno, scot all played).

Hold the ball better, and you stand a better chance of winning
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Youngzero2(m): 11:16pm On May 02, 2022
I have always maintained that in this present era the team with the better midfield play wins.
Just load everywhere with midfielders who are intelligent and prudent with the ball and the goals would come naturally. This is the secret of guardiola teams.
Forget tactics,a team with individuals who can manipulate the ball better and has a solid midfield is always at an advantage.
