Hi I have been on upwork for over 3 years and for me I started it just for fun , but even when I don't apply now , I get free invites , its amazing , back to your question ,about relating with the employer please don't develop this oga mentality please I have worked with senior professionals from over 20 different countries , UK, USA, Israel , China , Kenya , South Africa just to mention a few. Act to them normally , do their job on time and always send the report of your activities even if they don't ask for it .
About getting your funds , there are several ways , you can do direct bank transfer, they charge you $30 for that and in less than 3 days you get your fund. u can also apply for a payorneer card, (though I won't advise you keep money in it , its not too safe , prone to hacking mine has been hacked and that of a friend ) I only use this when I need small cash cos it's instant payment , and u they u $5 for the transaction and u subsequently get charge $5 for every transaction you make even if u just check your account balance. You don't have to screenshot for the month, screenshot your total earnings just for year 2015 and year 2016 (two screenshots). That will let us know if you are a sham or not. I know what I am saying, and do full screenshots so it shows ur network operator up (just incase you want to get a picture online). What is Freelancing?

In case you don’t know is the art of selling your skill and time for money. The skill could be writing, graphic designs, typing, research, video animation, web design, music production, etc.

There are platforms where business owners around the world come to hire people with these skills and pay them for the needed services.
When you register on those platforms, these business owners gets to see you and hire you to do a job for them.

They pay you in dollars according to the amount you both agree on. This is usually in dollars and that’s one of the most important reasons why I work on Freelance portal……at least, I will always live above recession.

How much can you make from Freelancing and how can you receive the money you earn?

You can earn from $500 (N180,000) and above per month, working from home and spending not more than five hours per day.

Personally, I earn between $850 and $2,500 (though I have earned up to $3,000 in a month twice since I began 20months ago). That is between N280,000 and N825,000 and most importantly, I work for less than 4hours daily.

You receive your money through Payoneer which is a payment option acceptable for Nigerians. Payoneer gives you a customized ATM card where every money you earn is loaded. Whenever you want to withdraw, you just slot it into any ATM machine and it will pay you the Nigerian equivalent. You can also use exchangers as they pay higher (black market rate) than banks.

I use this card to do shakara every time I go to an ATM. I like to use it to intimidate bankers as 90% of them have never seen such ATM……lol.

Again, I’m not saying this to boast, but to encourage you to stop complaining and whining about the unemployment in the country and start taking your own destiny into your own hands.

Which freelancing platform should you start with?

There are a whole lot of them: Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, FiverrUp, etc.
But I always recommend Fiverr, maybe because that’s where I started and found huge success.

How much do you need to invest to get started?

Absolutely nothing, except maybe data, which can’t cost you more than 2K per month.

All you need is a laptop (some say phones work too, but I prefer laptop) and internet connection.
With this, you are ready to start banking heavy income working from your room and earning a cool living.

Can you sustain a family with freelancing?

I added this question because I saw a Nairalander ranting that you can’t sustain a family on freelancing.

That is a fat lie.

I’m taking care of myself and my immediate family from my freelance income. I’m not married yet, but I have a fiancée who I also take care of through freelance.

If you treat freelancing as a business, it will pay you like a business owner.

How do I get started?

I can only show you how to start on Fiverr because that’s where I work. If you need help with other platforms, you can Google it or ask the question here on Nairaland to get help (I’m sure there are many Nairalanders earning huge income from this).

If you want to get started on Fiverr, I can guide help you with a very detailed tutorial for it here with images and illustrations so you can successfully register and start banking big cash.

Remember, you should stop ranting about the Government. Focus that energy to learn and start earning huge calms. When you are comfortable, you can easily face the Government without being deceived by their bag of rice sharing.

SEO stands for search engine optimization. Its important if you want your blog to rank on google. SEO in this context is actually using keywords usually long tail keywords in the body of the article to make it appear natural. Long tail keyword are long phrases for example '''make money online'''<== that is just a keyword, then the long tail keyword may be ==> "'How to make money online with affiliate marketing''... You can see the differences. Both mean the same thing but the latter is a longer tail version which is better for ranking move keywords in a single article.

Let's take an example...
if someone type on google '''make money online''' now that phrase is a keyword. Lots of website will appear on google according to relevance and some factors which includes keywords, backlinks, length of article, page authority and domain authority. Everything I just highlighted in red are actually what is termed SEO with KEYWORD being the first SEO to consider.

So when next you get an order to deliver an SEO content, ask for the keyword from the client or offer keyword research as a gig extra.

One more last thing you need to consider is using these keyword(s)within the title and body of the article to appear natural. Basically, don't use keywords more than 1% within an article (That is for me personally, it may differ from persons)

e.g: if you are writing a 1000 words article, don't use the keyword more than 10 times within the body of the content.

Seemingly, you need 50 completed orders to get to level 2 on Fiverr. I can also see that it should be done over the course of 2months, and maintaining 4.5 and above. I have completed 35 orders with only 26 reviewed. Out of the 26 that was reviewed, 24 is 5 star, 1 is 4.4 star, and the last one is 4 star. However, the average showing on my profile is 5 star (26 reviews). I will like to know if the 4 star and 4.4 star won't affect my attainment of level 2 status.

Also, is it possible to still get the level 2 if the 50 orders are completed in 2months and few days?

As for the later part of your question, that's equivalent to changing your email address all the time to the one of the exchanger to be used.

I don't intend to use various exchangers, but a lot of unforseen factors can emerge, for which you have to use someone else. For example, if the exchanger is not available and you need money urgently, or if the exchanger has a problem with his PayPal or bank. I am just trying to be prudential, not that I have it in mind to be switching exchangers. Thanks for your quick response and the recommendation.
