Actually you are wrong. If your woman can manage to have a child in Mexico you can get pr and eventually get the citizenship in 2 years. Mexicans are eligible for the TN visa and can work in the USA with that. IMHO if I was in your own position I will chase both visa processes together. Use a Schengen or uk visa to enter Mexico and give birth and also be doing the Brazilian visa too.
Let me look into this and reach back to you.

Oh, I didn't research on Mexico, but hearing about Brazil and going through this thread I did further research on the cost abd standard of living. Brazil stood out for me but it won't hurt to try both route and see which one will work out at the end. Thank you for your detailed explanation. I'm grateful.

Btw, happy new year

Hello YungLasaint.

It's great news you'd like to give yourself and your family this wonderful gift! Please, don't hesitate to start your application NOW as a lot of people complain about the long wait time.

As someone earlier suggested, you can consider Mexico as an option...when your baby is born on Mexican soil, he/she is given birthright citizenship and you are immediately eligible for PR (meaning, you can apply as soon as you get that birth certificate, which is almost immediately) - this applies to grandparents too.
As it is in Brazil as well, to be eligible for citizenship, some other criteria have to be met (like, duration of stay, learning language and history and all that) but you the parents (and grandparents, if they wish) can be eligible in as short as two years.

I think the main difference between birthing in Brazil and/or Mexico is the cost. As you should know, Brazilian public healthcare is free but Mexican isn't.

If this is something you're really set on, I suggest you go all through this thread, and make some research online to get better informed before you make a choice. I wish you and your family the absolute best!

Brazil and Mexico are very similar in my opinion.i suggested that because the Brazilian embassy would frustrate you. Technically they will delay your application until it's no more teneable if you are pregnant.
But Mexico doesn't grant the parent PR. I don't even know how long the whole process will take.

same as indicated on their website. quite a list but nothing out of the ordinary. i think someone posted the how to apply up in this thread. check it out. going alone. i did mine in lagos. they have an office in v/i. submitted my docs via courier as that was what the embassy requested.
I got to the Brazilian embassy website and I will start getting the documents ready.

I will need to travel to Lagos if need be, thank you for the information and I wish you the best in your visa application.

Why don't you plan and even have your wedding in Brazil? You can also explore Mexico also because it's easy to access if you have a Schengen , Canada or UK visa.
I don't have Schengen, Canada or UK visa. Besides Brazilian offers more opportunities for the parents to get a second passport within a short period of time.

How possible can I have my wedding in Brazil?

Alright, thank you very much.

Another one, what was the requirement when you started the process?

Will you be going alone or with your husband? I want to know so I can prepare well.

Do one need to go to Lagos or Abuja and submit the documents themselves or can I use a courier agency for that?
TravelRe: Giving Birth In Brazil by YungLasaint(m): 7:00pm On Dec 28, 2024
I just stumbled on this thread because of my friend who informed me about the advantages of giving birth in Brazil.

It seems over the years a lot has changed and it's getting more harder to get a visa.

My woman is a few weeks in and I wanted to start the process now before the stomach shoot out. From the information I have read here I want to ask. What's the average month one can wait for a visa status to be updated?

Why I said so is because the more we wait the more she's getting closer and I don't know if they will frown once they notice her stomach is shooting out.

POF isn't an issue as I'm a freelancer which means I can work basically anywhere. I want to know how's the process like now?

Do we need a separate application form?

Our wedding is coming up early next year, and we wanted our honeymoon to be Brazil. Then we can shoot two birds with one stone.

Will that be possible?

Because me, I am tired of this country, I want to relocate, it seems no thing is actually working here again.

Government ZERO
Food ZERO
Electricity ZERO
job ZERO
School ZERO..
I wonder where you get your own data because things are actually working here... Moving to another African country won't make things automatically work. They have their own set of corrupt leaders and unemployment.

Our state is trying with light and others isn't zero...
