Politics / Why I Was Happy When Tinubu Increased Petrol Pump Price — Buhari by Yuri141: 10:33am On Jan 02
FORMER president, Muhammadu Buhari has said he was happy when his successor, President Bola Tinubu increased the price of petrol.

There were several attempts by Buhari to remove the fuel subsidy but all failed.

However, the former Nigerian leader made his feelings known at the annual dialogue of Katsina Consultative Forum (KCF) held at the weekend.
According to him, he thought with the removal of fuel subsidy, visitors to his house in Daura would reduce.

But he said it was not so as Nigerians contribute money to fuel their vehicles to pay homage to him.

“I’ve seen the good and bad side of Nigeria; I thanked God I have now settled at home and people are coming to pay homage daily.

“I was happy when Tinubu increased the petrol pump price, thinking that will reduce the number of people visiting me at home, but they later resorted to organising themselves to raise funds to barge into my house,” he said.

Politics / Don’t Ruin Your Future With Hard Drugs, Buhari Tells Youths by Yuri141: 12:04pm On Jan 01
Former President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, cautioned Nigerian youths not to allow hard drugs to destroy their future and potential.

Rather, Buhari said every Nigerian should be involved in the current efforts to tackle hard drug consumption in the country.

The former President gave the advice in katsina in his remarks at a one-day dialogue on how to tackle the involvement of youths in the consumption of hard drugs in Nigeria.

Buhari, who was the special guest of honour at the occasion which was put together by the Katsina Consultative Forum, promised not to relent in the campaign against drug abuse.

He said, “Our youths are valuable assets in our future. We cannot allow drug abuse to rupture their future. We should not run away from our responsibility. We need to confront this issue of drug consumption and abuse by our youths.

“To our youths, your future and potential matter most. Believe in yourself; believe in your ability and believe in your future. Don’t allow drug abuse to ruin your potential and your future.

“To our leaders, we all have roles to play. We should invest in our youths, provide employment for them and ensure that they are positively engaged. I will not relent in doing this.”

The guest lecturer, Dr. Usman Bugaje, in his paper, said the fight against hard drug consumption must begin at the community level.

“At the moment it is the greatest threat to its survival as a country. Therefore, for Nigeria to survive and thrive, the menace of drug trafficking and consumption must be addressed squarely. It is a natural emergency.”

The Chairman of the Katsina Consultative Forum, Alhaji Aminu Danmusa, assured participants that the forum would package the various suggestions and recommendations made during the dialogue and ensure that various stakeholders, including the government, implement them.

Business / Companies That Exited Nigeria Amid Economic Challenges This Year by Yuri141: 9:29pm On Dec 28, 2023
Throughout 2023, Nigeria’s business environment grappled with unprecedented challenges, chiefly influenced by the complexities of an election year.

Uncertainties surrounding election outcomes and policy directions led investors to adopt a cautious stance, influencing significant long-term investment decisions.

The year kicked off with artificial cash scarcity and a botched currency note redesign, initially hampering consumer spending.

Economic recovery in the second quarter was marred by the removal of fuel subsidies and the unification of the foreign exchange market, resulting in soaring inflation and considerable depreciation of the naira.

These macroeconomic hurdles, compounded by longstanding national issues, triggered a notable departure of companies from Nigeria in 2023.

Here’s an overview of significant exits:

Jumia Foods: A mobile app-based platform for restaurant discovery and ordering.

– Exit Date: December

Reason: Pulling out of the food delivery business across African countries, citing the difficulty of the sector and a desire to focus on profitable ventures.

Procter & Gamble: An American multinational consumer goods corporation.
– Exit Date: December
Reason: Dissolution of ground operations, reverting to an import-only business model due to Nigeria’s macroeconomic challenges and forex difficulties.

Bolt Food: The food delivery arm of the Estonian ride-hailing company, Bolt.
– Exit Date: November
– Reason: Strategic decision to optimize resource utilization and streamline overall efficiency.

Equinor: An international energy company.
– Exit Date: November
– Reason: Divestment from Nigeria’s petroleum industry, selling its stakes to Chappal Energies, aligning with a focus on international oil and gas portfolio.

Sanofi-Aventis Nigeria Ltd: A French pharmaceutical company.
– Exit Date: November
– Reason: Ceasing operations in Nigeria and adopting a third-party distribution business model, similar to GSK and P&G.
MABISCO Biscuit: An indigenous Nigeria
n biscuits company.

– Exit Date: October
– Reason: Shutdown of the multimillion-dollar plant in Ogun state, with plans to sell the company and focus on other business areas.

54Gene: A Genomics startup.
– Exit Date: September
– Reason: Closure after a tumultuous year marked by leadership changes, staff complaints, and legal issues, despite raising $45 million in funding.

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria: A British multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company.
– Exit Date: August
– Reason: Forex challenges disrupting operations, leading to a transition to a third-party direct distribution mode.

Lazarpay: A web3 and crypto payment company founded by 21-year-old Emmanuel Njoku.
– Exit Date: April
– Reason: Inability to raise funds, leading to the shutdown of the web3 and crypto payment company, operational for only two years.

The year underscored a tumultuous landscape for Nigerian businesses, showcasing exits across various sectors. From tech startups to multinational corporations, the exodus highlighted the profound impact of macroeconomic hurdles on the nation’s business community.

Sports / Ahmed Musa Dragged For Wishing Christians 'Merry Christmas' by Yuri141: 12:50pm On Dec 26, 2023
Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has attracted negative comments from some members of the Muslim faith after he shared a picture of his Cross River wife, Juliet Ejue, and wished Christians a merry Christmas.

Musa took Juliet, a Christian from Ogoja local government in Cross River, Nigeria, as a second wife in 2017, after reportedly parting ways with his first wife, Jamila. The pair are still waxing strong, and their union has been blessed with children.

The global Christian population celebrated the birth of their Messiah, Jesus Christ, today, December 25th.

Members of the faith and well-wishers alike have, hence, taken to social media to share season greetings, and the former Leicester City forward was not exempt.
Musa shared a picture of his beautiful wife Juliet, clad in Christmas-themed pyjamas, with the following caption, “Compliments of the season🎄🎄🎄 This festive season, I pray that you experience true joy and peace and may things of celebration never cease from your household. Merry Christmas to you all 👏🎉.”

Musa is a Muslim, a devout one if his social media posts are to go by, and his progressive act of joining in the celebratory rituals of another religion has befuddled some adherents of the Islamic faith, and they ensured to lay their displeasure across via his comment section.

Some of them took to lecturing, informing Musa that his religion forbids him to actively participate in celebrations of other faiths while praying for him to convert his wife to Islam.

Politics / We’re Ready To Expand Ties With Nigeria, Says Taiwanese Envoy by Yuri141: 10:09am On Dec 21, 2023
Representative of Taiwanese Mission to Nigeria, Andy Yih-Ping Liu, has declared that his country is ready to expand bilateral relations with Nigeria for the realisation of President Bola Tinubu’s economic agenda as promised to the citizenry.

Liu, who spoke with reporters in Lagos, noted that Taiwan is ready to host the Nigerian delegation in Taipei to discuss mutual areas of collaboration that will complement each other’s economic and industrial growth.

According to the envoy, Taiwanese government is also willing to send its delegation to Nigeria on the invitation of the Nigerian government for such economic and trade talks.

He said Taiwan in the last few months had entered into comprehensive trade deals with some other countries, including UK, Canada, France and India, involving trade, investment in green energy and digital economy.

Liu hinted that the agreement with UK government last month sets out priority areas of future discussion in three key areas of bilateral investment, digital trade, renewable energy and net zero emissions.

In October this year, he added that his country also completed talks with Canada on bilateral deal to boost foreign investment.

The trade representative stressed that Taiwanese government is prepared to assist President Tinubu to achieve his promise of turning the entrepreneurial capacity of the South East Nigeria into global competitiveness into Taiwan of Africa.

The Nigerian government, he said, would need to pick up the pace by working closely with his mission.

He noted that Taiwan can contribute towards the growth of developing African nations, which is a better way to promote digital literacy, vocational training, agriculture and medical equipment.

He added that democracy in Nigeria and Taiwan are almost the same, as both nations have similar constitutional orientation.

"As the rest of the world is moving quickly to collaborate with Taiwan, the Nigerian government would also need to pick up the pace by working closely with his mission and government to comprehensively discuss economic investment, science and technology research and the digital economy", the envoy said.

Foreign Affairs / Israeli Navy Unit Shooting Hamas Terrorists At Sea (Video) by Yuri141: 12:50pm On Oct 17, 2023

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYEpOR_eF5k

Newly released video shows the moment members of an Israeli navy unit gunned down Hamas terrorists trying to infiltrate the country by sea on the morning of the attack.

The dramatic footage captured sailors from the Snapir unit aboard Defender-class vessels firing machine guns and lobbing depth charges at the terrorists after their speedboats were sunk by Dvora-class patrol boats, the Times of Israel reported.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the terrorists tried to swim toward the Israeli coast.

“Snapir fighters opened fire on the terrorists, amid a naval pursuit. The fighters thwarted a number of terrorists at sea, and from there they continued to thwart terrorists when they reached the coastline,” the IDF said.

Snapir is a harbor security unit that is part of the patrol squadrons stationed at the navy’s bases in nearby Ashdod and Haifa in the north and Eilat in the south, the outlet noted.

Politics / Don’t Drag Obi Into Your Tinubu Fight, LP Tells Atiku by Yuri141: 12:55pm On Oct 06, 2023
The leadership of the Labour Party has asked the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, to leave out its candidate, Peter Obi, from his feud with President Bola Tinubu, saying the former Anambra governor is solely focused on reclaiming his ‘stolen mandate’ at the apex court.

The party however said it will welcome any interest that amplifies its quest for a nation where true justice shall reign.

The response was a reaction to the call by the PDP candidate for Obi and the presidential flag bearer of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to join his crusade in exposing the alleged dirty secrets of the president.

In a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday by the National Publicity Secretary of LP, Obiora Ifoh, the party appealed that they would appreciate if their candidate is allowed to concentrate on his case at the apex court.

The statement read, “The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi is presently in the Supreme Court seeking to reclaim his stolen mandate and he is focused on that.

“He has been in the vanguard of ensuring a just nation where justice must be the watchword, and he will not stop until Nigeria achieves the leadership it truly deserves. Obi has pontificated on the need for leaders to be good role models and live a life worthy of emulation.
This he has done by publicly putting his credentials in the open for verification. Nigeria will get better when men of integrity and honour drive the affairs of the nation."

Politics / Tinubu & CSU: We Don’t Have Time For Frivolous Issues – Yusuf Tuggar by Yuri141: 11:34am On Oct 04, 2023
Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Yusuf Tuggar, says the present administration does not have time to waste on ‘frivolous issues’ following controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s claim of having attended and obtained a certificate from Chicago State University (CSU) in the United States of America.

While appearing on Channels TV Sunrise Daily programme on Wednesday, Tuggar stated that the certificate saga has had no effect on the recent international engagements of President Tinubu, adding that the issue ‘is a distraction’.

“Nobody is wasting time about certificate qualification for somebody who has been a governor of a state, served two terms, and has been on the national stage as a politician.

“You remember that (former) President Buhari had to go through the same thing, where people were actually questioning whether he went to secondary school or not. Someone who had classmates was the captain; he was a head boy.

“The foreign leaders with whom we’ve been engaging and the international organizations clearly are disinterested in wasting time on such.

Tuggar also stated that Nigerians should be focused on the economic challenges in the country presently and not on the certificate.

“The economic challenges we are facing – we shouldn’t be wasting time about whether some certificate, whether there is a T missing or an I hasn’t been dotted. That shouldn’t be our primary focus at the moment,” he said.

Recall that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, had requested that President Bola Tinubu’s academic records be made available by Chicago State University (CSU) in an application to the US District Court in Northern Illinois.

The documents were released to Atiku’s legal team on Monday by the university after a United States court ordered that the academic records of President Tinubu be released.

Foreign Affairs / Biden’s Son, Hunter Pleads Not Guilty To Gun Charges by Yuri141: 4:16pm On Oct 03, 2023
Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty Tuesday to an illegal gun possession charge, marking the latest chapter in his troubled life just as his father President Joe Biden accelerates his campaign for reelection next year.

Hunter Biden, 53, arrived in federal court in his family hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, without speaking to waiting reporters.

He entered a not guilty plea to three felony charges stemming from his purchase of a .38-caliber Colt Cobra revolver in 2018 when, by his own admission, he was heavily addicted to drugs and barely in control of his life.

Hunter Biden is charged with two counts of making false statements for claiming on forms required for the gun purchase that he was not using drugs illegally at the time.

He faces a third charge, based on the same statements, that he illegally possessed the gun — which he had for only 11 days in October 2018 — before he got rid of it.

Hunter Biden’s multiple legal troubles and controversies — which extend to facing ferocious accusations from Republican politicians that he engaged in corrupt business practices in China and Ukraine — are a constant drag on his father’s political standing as he seeks a second term in 2024.

Republicans have opened an impeachment inquiry in Congress on what they claim is a Biden family criminal conspiracy but have provided no evidence that the president did anything wrong.

In response to the constant drip-drip of scandal, Joe Biden has repeatedly said he stands by his son and loves him for his attempts to recover from drug addiction.

Hunter Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, had asked Judge Christopher Burke to allow Biden, who lives in California, to appear by video instead of in person but the request was denied.

“The defendant should not receive any special treatment in this matter,” Burke wrote in his ruling.

If convicted, Hunter Biden could in theory face 25 years in prison, though in practice such offenses, if not accompanied by other charges, are seldom punished by any jail time.

In July, a plea bargain between Hunter Biden and federal prosecutor David Weiss — which would have erased the gun charges while Biden pleaded guilty to two tax charges and avoided prison — fell apart.

Hunter Biden has not been charged with any crimes related to his foreign business dealings, despite the Republican allegations.

However, Weiss, who was elevated to special counsel for the Hunter Biden probe after the plea deal fell through, says he is still investigating the junior Biden on possible tax charges in addition to the gun possession issue.

Hunter Biden is a Yale-trained lawyer and lobbyist-turned-artist, but his life has been marred by alcoholism and crack cocaine addiction.

Politics / Akpabio Creates Office For His Wife At The National Assembly - Sahara Reporters by Yuri141: 9:38pm On Oct 01, 2023
Senate President Godswill Akpabio is again in the eye of the storm for creating an office for his wife, Ekaette Unoma Akpabio.

Unoma is the founder of Family Life Enhancement Initiative (FLEI), a non-governmental organisation.

Sources told SaharaReporters that many senators were disappointed with Akpabio’s opening of the Office of the First Lady to the Senate President, which did not exist in the previous Assemblies.

“There is outrage in the National Assembly because Senate President Akpabio created an office for his wife, Unoma. There is now an office of First Lady to the Senate President,” a source said.

Akpabio is serving as the 15th president of the Nigerian Senate. He emerged as President of the 10th Assembly after securing 63 votes to beat a former governor of Zamfara State, Abdul-Azziz Yari who secured 46 votes. He served as Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District from 2015 to 2019 and also served as Minister for Niger Delta Affairs from 2019 to 2022. Akpabio was the governor of Akwa Ibom State from 2007 to 2015.

Meanwhile, Akpabio is no stranger to controversies. In August, SaharaReporters exclusively reported that fellow senators were angry with Akpabio for exposing that they received bribe money from ministerial screening in a viral video.Akpabio is heard in the video telling members of the upper legislative chamber that an undisclosed amount of money had been sent to each of them to use to enjoy their holidays.

Akpabio said this while addressing his colleagues before the adjournment of a motion moved by one of the senators.

In the viral video, Akpabio said, “In order to enable all of us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the clerk of the national assembly.”
But when his statement sparked a rowdy moment on the floor of the Senate, he rephrased the statement and said, “I withdraw that statement. In order to allow you to enjoy your holiday, the senate president has sent prayers to your mailboxes to assist you to go on a safe journey and return.”

The Senate proceeded on vacation after concluding the screening of ministerial nominees sent to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu.

SaharaReporters learnt that the senators were upset that Akpabio exposed that they got bribe money from ministerial screening. Sources told SaharaReporters that the aggrieved senators were unhappy about the ridicule and embarrassment the former Akwa Ibom governor’s unguarded statement had brought to them.

Sources in the National Assembly told SaharaReporters that N2 million was sent to each of the senators by Akpabio who had received N1 billion from ministerial nominees.

SaharaReporters learnt that the senators described Akpabio's action as blackmail and to ensure they received the stick from their constituents for a "paltry sum" while he had pocketed the bulk of the bribe money paid to them.

“Senators are upset with Senate President Akpabio for exposing the bribe money they get for ministerial screening. A paltry N2 million was sent to each of them. They are angry that now Nigerians know how they are bribed to allow ministerial nominees to take a bow and go,” a source had said.“The Senate President collected over N1 billion from the screened ministers and sent only N2 million to the account of each of 109 senators, totalling N218 million,” another source had said.

“He never disclosed to the senators the source of the N2 million each sent to their accounts. Rather, what Akpabio did was to blackmail the Senators on Monday night in an open live television cast that money had been sent to the accounts of Senators for holidays. Then the following morning, senators received only N2 million each in their accounts while the senate president pocketed hundreds of millions of naira.

“What a shame and highest treachery and blackmail by the Senate President. Senators are getting ready for a battle with him because this has pitched Senators against their constituents who never knew that they were given only N2 million each for the so-called ‘allowance for holidays/vacation.’”

Politics / We’ll Sit With Herdsmen To Explain Why Cows Cannot Graze Inside Abuja: Wike by Yuri141: 6:06pm On Oct 01, 2023
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says that the FCT Administration will take a firm decision on open grazing inside the Abuja city centre after consultation with herdsmen.

“Before we take any decision, we will do proper consultation so that nobody will say you never alerted them, you never interacted with them before you took that decision.
We are going to call the cattle people to sit with them. We cannot allow things to go on like this. We didn’t say that there will be no cattle in Abuja, but within the city,” he said. Mr Wike stated this while fielding questions from journalists after inspecting some road projects in Abuja on Saturday.

He said that cows would be allowed to graze in the suburbs but not in the city centre.

On the ban of commercial motorcycles from operating within the city centre, the minister said a firmer decision would be taken after the federal provided buses as alternatives.

“We did not take a firm decision because we have not been able to provide the buses that will be the alternative for the people.
It is within the government’s responsibility to provide the alternative and then ask the motorcycle operators to leave the city centre.
This is so that you don’t ask them to leave, and people will be suffering; no,” he said.

Some of the projects visited are the completion of Roads B6, B12 and Circle Road in Central Area and the rehabilitation of the Federal Secretariat, being handled by Julius Berger.

The minister also inspected the construction of the southern Parkway from Christian Centre (S8/9) to Ring Road 1, being handled by Setraco and the expansion of the outer Southern Expressway being handled by CGC.

The project spanned from Villa Roundabout to OSEX/Ring Road 1 Junction, including four interchanges.

Mr Wike equally inspected the full scope development of Arterial Road N20, from Northern Parkway to ONEX with spurs being handled by Gilmor Engineering.

Politics / Supreme Court Fixes Date For Hearing Of Kanu Case Challenging Illegal Detention by Yuri141: 3:43pm On Sep 30, 2023
Supreme Court Fixes October 5 For Hearing Of Nnamdi Kanu's Case Challenging Illegal Detention By Nigerian Government

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has fixed Thursday, October 5, 2023 for hearing on two separate appeals filed by the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu through his Counsels and against his continued detention.

The appeal to hear on Thursday are marked SC/CR/1394/2022, NNAMDI KANU V. FED. REP OF NIGERIA; and SC/CR/1391/2023, FED. REP OF NIG VS NNAMDI KANU, SaharaReporters learnt on Saturday.

The lead counsel of the detained Leader of the pro-Biafra group, Mike Ozekhome, confirmed the hearing date to SaharaReporters on Saturday.

Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, leads Ifeanyi Ejiofor and others in the appeal which they had formerly won at the Federal High Court and at the Court of Appeal.

SaharaReporters had reported that the Court of Appeal had in October 2022 discharged Kanu of the 15 Counts charge against him. The appellate court subsequently, barred any further arrest, detention and trial of Kanu on the existing charge before his forceful extraordinary rendition from Kenya to Nigeria by the agents of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 27th of June, 2021.

The Federal Government later appealed against the judgement at the Supreme Court and subsequently got another panel of the Court of Appeal to stay the judgement of the appellate court.

Despite the judgement, Kanu has remained in solitary confinement at the facility of the Department of State Services (DSS), nearly one year after the judgement discharging him.

Confirming the hearing date, Kanu's lawyer, said: "The following appeal has been slated for hearing at the Supreme Court of Nigeria Abuja, on Thursday the 5th, October, 2023 (SC/CR/1394/2022, NNAMDI KANU V. FED.REP OF NIGERIA V; and SC/CR/1391/2023, FED. REP OF NIG VS NNAMDI KANU."

SaharaReporters had on September 18 reported that Ejiofor recalled that Kanu’s lead counsel, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), had formally requested for the Court’s approval of September 28, 2023 as the new scheduled date for the hearing of the appeal following the cancellation of the earlier scheduled date.

Ejiofor had said, “There is a positive indication that in the coming days, a confirmation or otherwise of the proposed new date will be made public upon our Lead Counsel's feedback.

“Our request is simple - let this appeal be heard with every urgency it deserves so that the fate of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been illegally held in the solitary confinement of the SSS will be determined, having been discharged of all the frivolous criminal charge against him since the 13th day of October, 2022.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria has continued to detain him in custody in clear violation of this subsisting Judgment, and Orders of the Court of Appeal that directed for his unconditional release, and consequently, prohibited his further trial before any Court in Nigeria or detention in any custody.

“As I have consistently maintained, the wheel of justice may grind slowly, but it will grind exceedingly fine in no distant time.”

Politics / Don’t Despair, Tinubu’ll Remain True To His Promises, Ganduje Assures Nigerians by Yuri141: 2:54pm On Sep 30, 2023
As Nigerians celebrate the 63rd anniversary of independence, National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje has told Nigerians to not despair in spite of the teething challenges of the current administration, assuring of the determination of President Bola Tinubu to remain true to his ‘renewed hope’ promises.

Ganduje in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Edwin Olofu, disclosed that measures are already in place to reposition the country for maximum growth and development.

The APC chairman called on Nigerians irrespective of their ethnic and religious affiliations to sustain the culture of peaceful coexistence to ensure the unity and cohesion of the country.

He said; “On behalf of the entire members of the All Progressives Congress APC, I wish to extend my heartiest congratulations to all Nigerians, both at home and in the Diaspora on the occasion of the 63rd Independence Day celebrations. I rejoice with you. I salute you all.

“Today is indeed an auspicious day as it marks an epoch in the life of our dear nation. 63 years ago, on this very day, our beloved country was granted independence to chart its destiny and build a new nation!

“Without a doubt, you would agree with me that the journey has not been without obstacles. It has been characterized by opportunities, prospects and challenges including a three-year civil war which brought out the resilient Nigerian spirit of perseverance, industry and abiding faith in the country.

As a party, let me restate that the APC will remain true to its promises and pledges to the people. None of these promises will escape our attention and none will be treated lightly.

The present administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is ready to live up to the Renewed Hope manifesto of the APC – to reposition Nigeria towards sustainable growth, development and economic prosperity.

Fortunately, he has hit the ground running to fix the infrastructural and economic reversals of the previous years. Under this administration, Nigerians can be rest assured that it will be fine again, that their worries will be made a thing of the past, that both the youth and aged will be well secure.“There will be sufficient jobs with decent wages, medicare, housing and other basic infrastructure that can guarantee the citizenry a better life.

“At this juncture, let me recognize and appreciate the immeasurable contributions, efforts, sacrifices and patriotism of our founding fathers. Their vision, courage and perseverance laid the foundation for the emergence of this great and inspiring nation called Nigeria”, he added.
