I respect real estate agents very much. I have been a worked with a couple of them and it has been eye opening experience and has helped me fall in love with real estate. Most real estate agents I've worked with came to me for one reason – to make sales. Looking at the effort they put in, I can tell they are really committed to find solutions and keep working at it till that ONE thing clicks. What they are actually looking for is staring right into their eyes, but they can’t see it. Here’s the connect… They are seeking information on how to make sales…. Their prospects are waiting till they have the right information to make a decision. Do you see how this is going? Information But instead of providing their prospects with the needed information, they are hard selling, trying to close, or some sort of aggressive follow up strategy. Look, I don’t care what sort of strategy used, if it works for you, then good. But one thing I have come to understand is that these prospects just need more information to make a decision. Though sometime they need time too. But the most important ingredient which is information is always missing from most real estate agents’ bag of strategy. Dear real estate agents, consider this a wake-up call to do something different and improve your sales process. Through whatever channel you communicate with your prospects, make sure that they have enough information they need to make a profitable decision. And when they do, everybody walks away happy. in conclusion, now is the best time to improve your content strategy. Now… It’s your turn. Go implement this. |
Why should you even bother about content in the first place? Content is the way you relate with your customers on a more personal level especially if you sell products online. When the content you put out doesn't solve a need or appeal to your audience, they'll move on to the next business that appeals to them. Let me get straight to the point! The issue of coming up with content especially for your business points to ONE major problem. Absence of a source. When you do not have source where you can easily tap into and get fresh ideas, and inspiration, it's going to be a hard task coming up with content. What sources am I talking about? I'll share with you just two sources where you can tap unlimited ideas and inspiration for your content. 1. Personal Stories. Some people naturally frown at the idea of sharing information about their lives with strangers online. But stories are easiest ways to get people's attention. There's always something about us that we can share with people that can get them stick around with us. This can be your experiences, knowledge and ideas. Share them with your audience and you'll be amazed how fast your audience will bond with your brand. 2. Use Other People's Stories/Experiences I love this method so well because it helps me piggyback on people's influence and also gets more influential people take notice of my business. (I even get free shout outs ) But you must be careful not to copy their stories or else it would bounce back at you in a not so good way. But instead use their stories as inspiration or to get ideas on what to talk about. So you can go ahead and try these out and see how it works for you. But hold on... What if you had a folder that contains over 4,000 content and templates you can use to generate your own content in 15 minutes or less? No matter the topic or industry? Well, I'll give it out to you to help your content creation process. You can hit me up and I'll forward it to you for the cost of a 1.5GB Mtn monthly subscription. I really want you to have it. Or just drop a comment. Hope you found this really valuable? Yeah! Take care. Hear from you soon...

If you have an online store, or you sell through social media, you would be able to relate to this scenario: Where you post pictures of you products with really catchy captions but all you get are few likes and comments like “this is really nice” and after that, nothing happens. (crickets) So you were told about how using Facebook and Instagram ads can boost sales. You decided to give it a try. Now you got more engagements and few comments like “how much is it?” And what happens after that? Few sales and sometimes, no sales at all. Well, I understand how that feels because I’ve been in such position myself. I concluded that no one wanted my products (customized t-shirts and jerseys) so I closed the business, and got a job. You see my friend, life is much easier when you know what game you are playing and you know how to play it. Information is what I am talking about. If I knew what I know now about two years ago, I would have made mad sales. But, you see we are all limited by the information we have and knowledge we possess. First let me tell you, because you take really cute pictures, hire a social media manager, and spend money on ads doesn’t mean you will make sales. In fact, the chances are very small. Having lots of retweets and comments doesn’t translate to sales. Some business owners get lucky but, it is just very few of them. Relying on retweets, likes and shares is a dangerous thing to do. It means the success of your business is in the hands of your followers. And the person who “retweets” a picture of your product probably did it because he/she knows you or just feels like retweeting. They might like it but that doesn’t mean they want to pay for it. So what am I supposed to do? I’m glad you asked. These techniques I am about to share with you is what makes the difference. It separates the winners from the losers. If you implement these techniques in your business right away, I can guarantee that you would make so much sales that would blow your mind. So, before you sell a single “pin” online here are three things to do that will guarantee 100% success and just two of those things will guarantee 80% success. 1. Target Market. 40% Before you sell something as small as a tissue paper, you should first research your market. The biggest prank you can play on yourself is by assuming everybody is your target market. You might say “but everyone buys shoes na.” Well, that’s true but not everyone buys shoes online. Not everyone buys the type of shoes you sell. Not everyone trusts that you product will solve their problems and not everyone has the money to buy your product. So you must go to the people who have the need for your product and have the money to pay for your product. You can do this through research. I understand most business owners hate this part. But you should know that 40% success of any business lies in understanding the target market. Go online and look for people who are interested in your product. Know where they are, engage with them, and find out their pains, their desires and other emotions. You can search forums such as Nairaland, platforms like twitter and Facebook groups. Find out what you prospects are saying. It would give you better insight on how to position your product in the market. 2. Offer. (40%) So now you have found your target market, what are you offering them? Is it an offer that they would consider insulting or an offer they would want to take advantage of immediately? The truth is that you cannot make them an offer if you have not studied them. When you have, then you will be able to make an offer they cannot refuse. A good example would be someone who is sexually inactive and has tried several forms of treatment but none of them worked. With this information, you already know what the person wants (to revive his sexual drive) and his pain (tried several forms of medication but he isn’t cured). So your offer isn’t going to be about lasting long in bed or teaching him sex styles, but offers that promise that if he uses your product, his sex drive will be restored. The offers about sex styles and lasting long in bed can serve as added benefits but not the main benefits. 3. The Copy. (20%) This is the part most people focus on and fail. Your copy, pictures or videos cannot manipulate people into buying your product if they don’t want it. Even if they want it, your copy won’t force them to open their wallets. This is just a small fraction of the entire mix. Your copy should be the machine where you process all the information from the above mentioned techniques. This is where you separate the best from the rest. You choose the strongest benefit that you prospect will respond to. This doesn’t mean the copy is not necessary. It is. But it should not be the most important part of the whole process. Now that you have this information, think about what you can implement in your business right now. I hope this article brought you value. Please do leave a comment or question and I will be glad to respond as to them. To your success. Zane. |

spirul77:Hello. I've lived in the North for a very long time. Most of the people there don't care about the oil. They just use oil. Considering the cost of transportation, it's likely to affect the price you sell your oil making it more expensive than the ones sold there. Except you have someone there ready to buy at your price then you can go ahead. First thing is to know those that supply to the areas you wish to supply to and know the cost at which they supply. Then you'll be able to know if you can compete with them or not. Goodluck brother. |
2. Understanding YOU. The next approach is to understand you. This involves understanding even the tiniest detail about you. At this point, you'll need a pen and a paper to write down the answers to the following questions. a) Who are you? You need to be sincere with yourself about the truth of whom you are. There's nobody that understands you better than you. Use few words to describe yourself. b) What's the one thing that could happen in your life right now that would change everything for the best? There's always this "one thing" that can change everything about our lives. Sometimes, it's just something small and in some cases it might be something big. It could be apology text from someone who hurt you, an email that you've been selected for a program which you applied for long time ago, or a simple "I love you" from someone you care about so much. Automatically, your mind is fueled again with passion and courage which you could use to pursue anything and achieve great success doing so. Some of these things are little things that have serious impact in our lives but we don't pay attention to them instead we shift our focus to the outcome and not the cause. If you're feeling stuck and unmotivated, someone stepping in your corner to stand with you could change everything. That's when you discover that you actually need someone who understands you the way you are. Someone who believes in you and allows you space to live. How about we stepping in your corner? When you look around, we are all there cheering you on. Because we've been there and understand what it's like and we believe you can do it your own way. The popular phrase is "Zero to Hero" Sounds great but, have you thought about how wide the gap from "zero to hero" is? I'm talking about working 7days a week, days of trying and failing, building up and loosing it all, loneliness, etc... Social Media makes it look like the journey from zero to hero is just as easy as starting your car and going on a straight road to hero. This kind of thinking is flawed and the consequences has got people stuck in a place and wondering what to do with their lives. So how do you go from being stuck and overwhelmed to taking the first steps to success? 1. Change your thinking. Everyone of us has a "wealth creation Equation" (WCE) attached to us. If you don't have a job or a business, your wealth creation equation "Zero." Sorry, that's what it is. If you have a job and you earn 1k per day, your wce is 30k in 30days. (unless you pay taxes which you likely don't) So before you beat yourself up for not making money, ask yourself first "how do I go from making zero to making 1k in a month. I understand that's small but it's good we start there. That's 33naira in a day. It's a good start. Then you can go from making 1k a month to 2k a month, then 4k,8k,16k,etc... I don't mean for you to keep making such small amount in a month. But if you know how to make 5k a month, you don't really need much to make as much as 50k a month and even more. The most important thing for you right now is cash flow and you can't afford to go another month without making your own money. No matter how small. So if you're not making any money or still asking friends and relatives for money, here's how you can change it. Firstly, Change your thinking. Learn how to crawl before jumping into the pool to swim. The millions will come, but you'll have build a good foundation, understand how to go from "Zero to Ten", then from ten, scale up. I hope this gives you a fresh perspective about how you approach money. Zero to Ten is an initiative designed to help individuals making nothing to making something. I've actually been studying crowdfunding for awhile now and I believe it is the future of raising funds for businesses and entrepreneurs especially in Africa. There are a couple of them in Nigeria now but after my research I discovered that there are alot of shaddy stuff going on. Eg, padded figures, fake companies, etc... We can make it work if we pull resources together. I can also offer my assistance to anyone who's ready to take it up. |

“Zane, I’ve tried… I’m giving up.” On a rainy Sunday afternoon while I was having lunch in my one room apartment, my phone rang. It was Chidi whom I’ve had series of meetings and brainstorming sessions with as regards his cassava processing factory. “Zane, I’ve tried. I’m completely out of options, I’m giving up.” Those words gave me chills. The disappointment in his voice was so real that it felt like someone else was in the room. I wished I could hug him and tell him” it’s going to be okay.” I wasn’t sure if those words would do any good. Chidi is self-motivated entrepreneur whose guts scared me. He did things I was scared to do, went to places I couldn’t, started a factory with everything he had saved up throughout his five years in school. Now, his biggest problem was funds to grow his business. He needed to serve a bigger market which we were sure would generate more revenue for his business. You would agree with me that several entrepreneurs in Africa are facing the same challenges Chidi faced. The banks are not ready to listen to startups, VCs and angel investors are asking for a large chuck of the cake with lots of icing because they have what the entrepreneur wants. Funding. In the course of that, so many entrepreneurs agree to certain terms that would send their businesses to the grave early. After considering other options of raising capital, one option that hasn’t really made waves is “Crowdfund Investing”. Crowdfund investing is a way businesses get funded by the public for a piece of the company(equity based) or a return on investment. Crowdfunding investing is not just another way to get funded but it is a major solution to the problem of funding entrepreneurs face in Africa. For now we cannot say if Crowdfunding is a permanent solution to lack of funding, but entrepreneurs will now have more options. Either to go for VCs and private investors or go with the crowd’s backing. As my mentor once told me, “the market determines who the good guy is and who the bad guy is.” So the success of a business that wants the crowd’s backing is majorly dependent on the crowd. Since Crowdfunding is not so popular in major parts of Africa, the public will need to be educated so as to know which deals to put their money into and those they should stay away from. For now I am sure to say that Crowdfund investing is the future of investing.
