The radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram on Friday denied any involvement in the kidnap of the two foreign nationals that were killed during a botched rescue mission in Sokoto state. A man identified as the spokesman of the group, Abul Qaqa Boko told reporters in a conference call on that the fundamentalist sect does not engage in hostage taking and demand for ransom. “We have never been involved in hostage-taking and it’s not part of our style, and we never ask for ransom” he said, adding that “we are not behind the hostage taking … which led to the military operation yesterday in Sokoto in which the hostages were killed”. British engineer, Chris McManus, 28 and his Italian colleague, Francesco Molinara, 48, were shot dead by their captors in Sokoto during a rescue operation led by British Special Boat Services and Nigerian military troops in a bid to free them. The group that has staged numerous violent attacks across northern Nigeria stated that “we know how to settle our scores with anybody. Therefore the allegation that the kidnappers were members of our group is ridiculous.” “Nigeria’s government had better get its facts straight and find the true identity of the kidnappers” Qaqa added. “They should not use us to mask their incompetence.” Posted by Channels Television on March 9, 2012. |
IBADAN – SANITY was thrown to the wind in Ibadan as some men of the Nigeria Customs Service stormed a secondary school, United Senior Secondary School, Ijokodo, Ibadan and beat a teacher mercilessly for daring to punish a student whose father is a Customs officer. Though, none of the students of the school was injured during the chaotic situation, the teachers in the school and other traders around the school said the Customs men shot sporadically to scare some students and teachers who wanted to come to the rescue of the teacher, Mr. Gbenga Ogunleye while he was being beaten by four officers in uniform. The boy, Allison Ebuka who is in SS 3, had gone to the Customs Barrack to invite his parent after he had allegedly refused to serve punishment with other students who were found culpable of indecent behavior. While speaking with newsmen yesterday, the helpless teacher, said “last Friday, some boys who are fond of dressing indecently to school and assembling in an uncompleted building during odd hour were rounded up by the teachers and had all their indecent dresses, slippers, and other things that the school does not allow seized”. “We told them to form a queue and ask them to jump up and down. But Ebuka did not respond despite telling him to do so. I then used the cane in my hand to compel him, still he resisted. He then went home to call his father, mother and cousin. To my surprise, when his parent came, the father asked him to identify me, instructed him to beat me in his presence”, he said. “When I was resisting, the boy went for a wheel spanner and was aiming at my head. But, I used my hand to protect my head. The father then asked for reinforcement. Other officers in uniform drove in with high speed into the school compound. They dragged me on the ground, beat me to stupor and tore my shirt. When other teachers and students came to my rescue, the Customs men fired shots and students began to jump over the fence”. When Vanguard got to the school yesterday, the teachers said the boy in question had been expelled by the Ministry of Education. The teacher, who was hospitalized as a result of the beating, said he was yet to buy the drugs that were prescribed for him. “I was taken to Jericho Hospital for treatment. They treated me and prescribed some drugs. The Nigeria Union of Teachers in the state has taken exception to the behviour of the Customs officer”, he said. Efforts made to get the Customs officer or the command were unsuccessful. As at the time of filing this report, the Public Relations officer of Customs in Ibadan, Mrs. Nkiru Nwala had travelled and several calls made to her phone were not connected. |

Don't you people have respect for the dead, people were killed in cold blood and you are debating whether they were muslims or non-muslims.The basic fact is that innocent lifes were lost which is very very sad, |
R.I.P bro, |
Okija_juju:You are a big fool and may God smite you and your generation for that inhumane comment, |
This guy must not die in vain.Aluta continua, |
This BH are using verses of the noble Quran to justify their evil acts, may God punish them all. It's clearly stated in the Quran that do not terrorise and trangress in the land.Almighty Allah only commanded the Phophet and the muslims to defend themselves when they were being prosecuted for their faith, and the fighting stopped once the prosecution ceased. Their current fighting doesn't have any base in the Quran since we muslims are not prosecuted for our faith. They sould look elsewhere for the support of their evil act. |
There is no verses of the noble Quran that says innocents Xtians and Jews should be murdered.U can get a copy and u will be convinced, |
An educated man is a man that can use his knowledge whether formal or informal to help his immediate society and humanity at large, |
This is really a bad news for us,as we all know Europe is in financial crisis and the IMF chief will do anything to restore it.If our economy is to grow we have to turn our back on the IMF and do what is right to make our economy better, |

More verses from the Quran: 5:90 You who believe, intoxicants and gambling, idolatrous practices, and [divining with] arrows are repugnant acts—Satan's doing: shun them so that you may prosper. 91 With intoxicants and gambling, Satan seeks only to incite enmity and hatred among you, and to stop you remembering God and prayer. Will you not give them up? |
The answer is in the Quran, check Quran 2 verse 219:They ask you [Prophet] about intoxicants and gambling: say, 'There is great sin in both, and some benefit for people: the sin is greater than the benefit.' They ask you what they should give: say, 'Give what you can spare.' |
So far the school is a public school muslims should be allow to practice their religion freely since there are two major religions in this country, |
