For some of you making fun of me about what I saw with my very own eyes today, well; I pray it never happened to you some day. For some of you who want to buy me a better phone either by joke or whatever. You're highly appreciated. Thank you all. God has saved me from this terrible disaster today. |

I'm still very much at shock till this moment. I used to hear people talking about their phones exploding etc. What happened today was rather unbelievable! I received a call as usual, after which I pocketed my phone. About some few minutes on, I began to feel some heat on my lap. The smell I perceived makes me wonder if there was a chemical station around. Out of curiosity, I quickly deep my hand on to my pocket. Behold Brethren; I saw a very huge smoke coming out from my phone. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I quickly threw the phone away, only to discover that My phone has been upgraded to a fully loaded grenade(not funny please) I just stood there watching my phone melting like a an expired plastic. Not sure what caused it, but we should be careful. Brethren, help me Thank God. See below for yourself. Tec-NO!

Published February 27, 2017 Olusola Fabiyi, Abuja the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, has asked the Court of Appeal, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to jail his arch rival, Senator Ahmed Makarfi, and some of his loyalists. Apart from the former governor of Kaduna State, Sheriff, who is also a former governor of Borno State, also listed three other prominent leaders of the party as those to be jailed by the appellate court. Sheriff and the National Secretary of the party, Prof. Wale Oladipo, accused Makarfi and others of flouting the order of the court, which was delivered on February 17, 2017. The court, in the judgment, had pronounced Sheriff as the national chairman of the party while it also upheld that Oladipo remained its national secretary. Apart from Makarfi, others named as alleged contemnors are the two other members of the sacked National Caretaker Committees, Senator Ben Obi (secretary) and Mr. Dayo Adeyeye(publicity secretary). He also listed a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, among the alleged contemnors. Sheriff, in suit number FHC/ PH/CS/524/16, asked the court to commit the four persons to prison for one year over the alleged contempt. Apart from the four named above, the PDP national chairman also listed a former Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives, Mr. Emeka Ihedioha; a former Minister of Information, Prof. Jerry Gana; Chairman, Board of Trustees of the party, Senator Walid Jibrin; and an aspirant to the office of the party’s national chairman, Chief Bode George, as alleged contemnors. However, he did not pray the court to commit Ihedioha, Gana, Jibrin and George to prison, rather, he asked the court for an order restraining them from “proclaiming or otherwise holding out to the public that the 1st to 3rd alleged contemnors are national officers of the PDP for any purpose whatsoever.” Listed as defendants in the case are the PDP, the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Inspector-General of Police and the Department of State Services. The duo asked the court to stop Makarfi and his group from parading themselves as national officers of the party. They also asked the court to direct the IGP and the DSS to close down the factional secretariat being operated by the Makarfi group. Apart from that, they also asked the court not to transmit the records of the court proceedings to Markarfi and his group, saying they didn’t have the permission of the party to get it. Oladipo, who signed an affidavit in support of the claim, stated that on February 17, “soon after the judgment was delivered, the alleged contemnors proceeded to address the media and to comment negatively, contemptuously, disparagingly and contumeliously on the findings and order of the court set out above.” He added, “Rather than accept that the justice of the matter as determined by this honourable court was as expressed in the findings, holdings and order set out above, the 4th to 8th Alleged Contemnors made statements encouraging the 1st to 3rd respondents to defy the order of the court and flout the purpose of the court’s judgment delivered on the 17th of February 2017.” He said it was on this basis that the alleged contemnors placed notices in newspapers, where they convened a meeting of what they called “PDP stakeholders.” He stated, “The said meeting was held on Monday, February 20, and was attended by the 4th to 8th alleged contemnors, who made further statements encouraging the 1st to 3rd alleged contemnors to defy the holdings and order of the court.” The motion on notice for the committal of the alleged contemnors was filed by eight lawyers, led by a former Minister of Justice, Akin Olujimi (SAN), who was joined by two other SANs – Dr. Alex Izinyon and B. E. Nwofor – among others. The lawyers said, “The actions of the alleged contemnors, as shown in the affidavit in support of this application, have the effort of flouting the purpose of the judgment of this Honourable court, which purpose is to properly regulate the exercise of powers by the alleged contemnors against the applicants and 1st Respondent; avoid any further anarchy, lawlessness and deepening crisis capable of heating up the Nigerian polity; and establish the requirements of the rule of law and due process in the administration of justice. “Although the alleged contemnors were not parties to the action in court, it is our humble submission that they have a responsibility to ensure that they do not aid and abet the disobedience of the judgment order or treat the said judgment with disdain and disrespect.” Markarfi and the other faction of the party are believed to have filed an application seeking for stay of execution of the judgment and leave for appeal. No date has been fixed for the hearing of Sheriff’s case, which was filed on February 24, 2017. Source: http://punchng.com/contempt-sheriff-asks-court-to-jail-makarfi-obi-others/ |

“The speculators fingers are completely burnt. “They are estimated to lose several billions of Naira,’’ Good News |
ON FEBRUARY 24, Fri, 2017. Currency speculators are in for a bad season as they stand to lose billions of Naira to the new CBN forex policy, Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe said on Friday. Gwadabe, President, Association of Bureau De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON), told newsmen in Lagos that the speculators’ fingers had been burnt due to the policy. “The speculators fingers are completely burnt. “They are estimated to lose several billions of Naira,’’ Gwadabe said. The financial expert said that the new policy was a long awaited liberation the Naira needed to check speculators from manipulating the exchange rate for their selfish ends. According to him, the market is already adjusting at a faster pace as the Naira continues to appreciate across board in all the major segments of the market. Gwadabe noted, for emphasis, that BDCs were not competing with commercial banks in the sale of the proceeds of International Monetary Transfer Services Operators (IMTSOs) to end-users. The ABCON chief said that the directive did not provide a level playing ground for the banks and the BDCs to operate. “This is a great source of worry to ABCON because BDCs are not meant to be in competition with the banks. “We are supposed to provide complementary roles,” Gwadabe said. The Naira had depreciated toN520 to a dollar when the CBN rolled out the new forex policy to improve liquidity on Feb. 21. The new policy mandated commercial banks to sell forex to those seeking it for school fees, medicals and personal and business travel allowances. Since its implementation, the Naira has appreciated against the dollar trading at N495 to the greenback. Hoodlums have been terrorising the Randle General Hospital on Randle Avenue, Surulere, Lagos, an investigation revealed on Thursday. A correspondent who visited the hospital reported that the Emergency Unit was more vulnerable to such incidents as patients, relations and others could easily walk into the premises, without being questioned. The entrance to the hospital’s Emergency Unit had no security personnel, hence anybody could freely walk in. A member of staff who confirmed this to newsmen said cases of theft and attacks on members of staff, including doctors and nurses on duty, had been ongoing at the unit for some weeks. The staff, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that only patients with critical emergencies were usually allowed to go into the emergency room. “We expect relations and patients with emergencies to come in and such people will be attended to. “Many people come into the room and we assume that they either come in as patients that need emergency care or relations accompanying them. “But some outsiders do find their way in and steal; a patient’s bag was once stolen when she and her relation went to the bathroom. “Also, the mobile phones of some patients and members of staff have been stolen; there have also been instances of doctors and nurses being beaten up by people who have lost their loved ones,’’ the staff recalled. The hospital management had started to put in place measures, including the deployment of security agents and the installation of CCTV cameras. Police personnel are now being deployed at night to parade the hospital compound. An official, who also spoke on anonymity for the hospital management, said that the management would soon introduce new measures to ensure that the emergency room was better secured. “Only those with emergencies would now be allowed to go in,’’ the official said. A patient, Mrs Esiri Umukoro, who spoke to newsmen, said that the hospital environment should be a safe place to receive treatment. She said that the management had the responsibility to ensure that patients at the hospital were safe at all times. “The hospital is open as can be seen from the entrance and anybody can walk in; there should be more security men placed at every entrance, to prevent theft. “Anybody can come in the name of coming to receive treatment, but the hospital management should be more security conscious,’’ she added Source// http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2017/02/23/hoodlums-terrorise-lagos-hospital/

China plans to open 50,000 football schools by 2025, as part of a long-haul effort to become a world leader in the game, Chinese Ministry of Education said on Wednesday. The ministry said it wants to fast track a previous goal of opening 20,000 football schools by 2020. The ministry said it would try to start up with the opening of some of the schools by the end of this year. “Each school could train on average 1,000 students, eventually creating up to 50 million players. “This is a solid way to select football talent for our future reserves. “Improving Chinese football is no longer just a dream,’’ Wang Dengfeng, Vice-President of the China Football Association, said. The ministry said that China currently has 13,381 football schools. Growing the game in China has been an ambition of President Xi Jinping, who has listed a series of benchmarks for Chinese football. This includes qualifying for, hosting and eventually winning the World Cup. The national team has struggled to make an impact on the international stage and is unlikely to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. However, Chinese clubs have recently made a series of eye-catching and expensive transfers to lure talent such as Axel Witsel, Carlos Tevez and Oscar to the domestic league. By Martin Patience BBC News, Lagos As Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari was beginning his latest visit to London more than a month ago, a new series of Big Brother Nigeria was getting under way. A former military ruler known for his no-nonsense style would appear to have little in common with a reality TV show where contestants engage in attention-seeking behaviour. But both subjects were soon generating headlines for the same reason - neither of them were in Nigeria. It turned out that Big Brother was actually being filmed in South Africa - a decision that led Nigeria's information minister to launch an investigation. While the howls of protests from outraged Big Brother fans soon died down, the clamour over Nigeria's leader's extended medical stay in London is not going away. President Buhari's absence comes as Africa's most populous nation is gripped by its worst economic crisis in decades, and faces the threat of famine in north-east Nigeria, which has been devastated by the Boko Haram insurgency. And unlike Big Brother, there are no constant updates - in fact, President Buhari, 74, has not given a single interview since arriving in the UK. Instead, the Nigerian public is relying on pictures - posted on Twitter - of their leader meeting senior UK officials as proof that he still is alive. The latest statement issued by the government said there was "no cause for worry" about the president's health but his medical leave was being extended. His month-long stay so far has angered some Nigerians after he promised to crackdown on "medical tourism" by officials last year. Last June, President Buhari spent nearly two weeks in London receiving treatment for an ear infection. But the bigger issue this time is that officials have repeatedly refused to disclose his illness and are not saying when he will return to Nigeria. 'Urgent decisions' In a country where rumours are rife, the presidential statements have done little to dampen the speculation about the leader's health. Nigerians are acutely sensitive to leaders travelling abroad for medical reasons after President Umaru Yar'Adua died while in office in 2010. For months, the public was kept in the dark while he received treatment in Saudi Arabia. The period of uncertainty created deep political instability in the country. The current president's supporters say that is emphatically not the case this time. They point to the fact that President Buhari constitutionally handed over power to his vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo, as he has done on previous trips, rather than governing from afar. He did take one phone call while in London, however, from the US President Donald Trump - the first between the two leaders. "There is no vacuum at the top," says the political analyst Jibrin Ibrahim. "President Buhari takes his constitutional role seriously, and has not personalised power, unlike other African leaders. Lack of authority? "My chief criticism is that his government has been acting like it has all the time in the world, when in fact urgent decisions needed to be made in regard to the economy." But, perhaps, one of the most striking things about President Buhari's absence has been the go-getting style of the acting leader. Yemi Osinbajo is preparing to launch an economic recovery plan. He also led a high-profile delegation to the Niger Delta to voice support for a government agreement with local militants groups that have seriously disrupted the region's oil production. But critics say that despite all his activity, the vice-president has no real authority. "He cannot perform because ministers and other political appointments are not obliged to be loyal to him as he didn't appoint them," said Dr Isuwa Dogo, a political analyst, and a member of the opposition party. "President Buhari is a public figure and there is no need for him to hide behind his health issues. "I want him to be back in the county. If there are successes, he will get the credit. If there are failures, he will get the blame." So, while Big Brother fans will know in April who has been crowned the series winner, for now, no-one seems to know when Nigeria's president will come back home.
