HealthRe: Why Are Drugs This Expensive? by ZeemsPropeties: 9:38pm On Jul 26, 2025
This is not to seem insensitive but drug prices are expensive everywhere. The corporations producing these drugs are in the profit business. Their sole aim is profit maximization and not healing the sick or whatever noble purpose we may think. Which is why it is always advisable to have an insurance plan especially to cover health.
I wish you the best but please, sign up for the NHIS plan. God bless.

Thank you for this well thought-out insight.
Despite being a design challenge, we still have human nature: classism, capital and 'indifference' to manage. Regardless, "when there is a will, there will be a way", and the market will always follow the shift.

One of the value-adds of design-thinking is it helps us incorporates opportunities for organic growth that makes it easy for homes to grow with people as their income improves. So, the "upfront capital" problem is slightly alleviated.

The rest is now dependent on "human nature" and that's where PR (or marketing comes in) comes in.
And all we need to turn the needle around is build a premium face-to-face apartment in a highbrow community or have a big corporation use it as their corporate residense for executive staff.

Thank you, again
Baby steps, but we will get there
This your input highlights my point. Your focus being "premium face-to-face apartment in a highbrow community or as a corporate residence" tells me this is yet another way to make as much money as possible while using the smallest input possible.
Such a building will compete with hotels for the corporate residence aspect and for the highbrow part, it would easily signify the lowest income earners in said highbrow area.
Whereas, I could live in my overpriced BQ in a highbrow area and pretend I belong, living in a known "low cost" alternative won't let me maintain that charade.
There's no PR fix to the fact that people live in highbrow areas for a reason. A face-to-face apartment would defeat that purpose. The only way such apartments work is in a low income area of society. And that explains the current situation. You can't spend too much because you have to consider what the market is willing to pay for. If it's too pricey, you won't recoup your investment.
PropertiesRe: Bring Back Face-me-i-face-you… But Make It For "Beyond 2025" by ZeemsPropeties: 6:29pm On Jul 26, 2025
Nigeria is filled with classists that proclaim their love for the masses but will eventually demean any efforts to provide for the masses.
Face-to-face apartments are a good solution to the housing crisis. Cheap and fits a large number of individuals on relatively small piece of land.
Any solution to the housing crisis that has not incorporated face-to-face apartments is just another money grab that will eventually become too expensive for the supposed target market.
Yes, you are right. A little bit of PR, a better design and you will get a solution to overpriced houses. But any touch on the design will eventually make it more expensive. We all know the price differentials between a single room (boys quarter apartments) and a self contained apartment even in the same compound.

It is not until you realize that racism is a thing and the people you desperately want to go to their land don't want you, before you realize that Nigerians are not worse than any other group of people.
Whatever crime you justify the condemnation of Nigerians for, understand that "they" do it worse.

PoliticsRe: Projects Tied To The Recent Loan Request Sent To The Senate By President Tinubu by ZeemsPropeties: 7:52am On Jul 25, 2025
Infrastructural development is mostly tied to loans with a repayment because the interest it yields is show over a long period of time and there is no need to tie up cash for such a period of time.

Even Dangote borrowed to finance the refinery. Financing infrastructure isn't stupid, it is the recommended path.

Let us not rush to condemn everything.

You people will have small money and start beefing the country where you made it. If you can make #7m here, why do you not believe you can make more?

Business is tough to handle. It becomes even more difficult in an entirely different environment. I wonder why you can't just invest your money on the source that made you the initial source here?

It's not in her place to enforce the order. There's a process. Although, I do not understand why she appears in a hurry. If the court truly rules in her favour, she will be reinstated in good time. And all benefits accruing to that position would be returned. So why the drama?

Yes, but it is also a concern of the average citizen

I am criticizing the idea promoted in your original comment that people who care about food prices are illiterates. That's a rather flawed and condescending comment.

I don't think that government should force prices down, but it should encourage things like massive commercial farming.
My initial comment is premised on the statement issued by ADC. A serious political party shouldn't comment on increased GDP in such a manner.
I expected that their issue should be on the fact that the measures used was rebased.

Well, food is very important in our lives, and Nigeria is remarkably food insecure.

Forget politics.
Food prices are only a concern for the government on the macroeconomic level. Being able to afford it depends on the individual

Who wrote and edited the article for Vanguard? Profit before tax is no profit. The real profit is what you keep after all deductions have been made which is called net profit.

That's what I looked out for because I never expected it to increase. In fact, I expected sales to drop because price increases always result in sales drop. This is basic economics.
Not for fuel. The fuel is highly price elastic. People won't stop buying fuel because it is more expensive.
Also, tax has a fixed percentage for levels of income. If Profit before Tax is higher than usual, profit after tax will also be higher than usual.
Don't be so authoritative on topics you know little about.

That is good development. You cannot keep holding, while there is scarcity of space and accommodation in the land. Same should be replicated in Abuja.
Although, instead of pulling down in Abuja, Government should seize and allocate those empty estates and buildings to the public.

Empty plots in choice areas of every city like PH, Enugu, Abuja, Lagos etc, should be re allocated to serious developers who would build to let or private abode, and bridge the gap in the real estate industry which would force the prices of rent down.
You people don't understand Economics and it shows.
1) Why are you so particular about land in "choice areas"? Why not land in the outskirts?
2) Would the government give it out for free? Or would the developers give it out for free?
If you expect the developers to pay for it, why can't they negotiate with the owners of the land directly?
And lastly, do you know the uproar it would cause if the government starts seizing land? What criteria would be chosen to decide who gets the land? How do you convince people that criteria is just and transparent?
