17-03-2025 Text: Psalm 34:10 "The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing." Introduction: Brothers and sisters in Christ. Today, we gather to reflect on the promises of God as revealed in Psalm 34:10. This verse is a powerful reminder of God's faithfulness and provision for those who seek Him. In a world filled with uncertainty, fear, and lack, this scripture invites us to anchor our hearts in the truth that God is our ultimate provider. Let us explore what it means to "lack no good thing" and how we can live in the confidence of God's provision. 1. The Contrast: Lions vs. Seekers of God The psalmist begins by drawing a striking contrast: "The lions may grow weak and hungry..." Lions are often seen as symbols of strength, power, and self-sufficiency. Yet, even these mighty creatures experience weakness and hunger. No matter how strong, resourceful, or independent we may think we are, there will come moments when we face limitations, when our own strength fails us. But the verse doesn’t end there. It continues with a profound promise: "...but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing." Here, the psalmist shifts our focus from self-reliance to God-reliance. Those who seek the Lord are not exempt from challenges, but they are assured of God's provision in the midst of them. The difference lies not in the absence of need but in the presence of a faithful God who meets every need according to His riches and timing. 2. What Does It Mean to Seek the Lord? To "seek the Lord" is more than a casual glance in God's direction. It is an active, intentional pursuit of His presence, His will, and His ways. Seeking the Lord involves: - Prayer: Communicating with God, sharing our hearts, and listening for His voice. - Worship: Acknowledging His greatness and surrendering our lives to His authority. - Obedience: Aligning our actions with His Word and trusting His guidance. - Faith: Believing that He is who He says He is and that He will do what He has promised. When we seek the Lord in this way, we position ourselves to experience His provision. It’s not about manipulating God to give us what we want, but about trusting Him to provide what we truly need. 3. Lacking No Good Thing The promise that we will "lack no good thing" is not a guarantee of a life free from hardship or want. Rather, it is an assurance that God will provide everything we need to fulfill His purposes for our lives. The "good things" He gives are not always material possessions or worldly success. They include: - Peace: The inner calm that comes from knowing God is in control. - Joy: A deep sense of contentment that transcends circumstances. - Wisdom: The ability to make decisions that honor God. - Relationships: Meaningful connections with others that reflect God's love. -Eternal Hope: The confidence that our future is secure in Christ. God’s provision is holistic, addressing our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. He knows what is truly good for us, and He withholds nothing that aligns with His perfect will. 4. Trusting God in Times of Lack There will be moments in life when it feels like we are lacking. Perhaps it’s a financial struggle, a health crisis, or a season of loneliness. In those moments, Psalm 34:10 invites us to shift our perspective. Instead of focusing on what we don’t have, we can focus on what God has already provided and what He promises to provide. Consider the story of Elijah in 1 Kings 17. During a time of famine, God provided for Elijah in unexpected ways—through ravens bringing food and a widow’s jar of oil that never ran dry. God’s provision often comes in ways we don’t anticipate, but it always comes at the right time. 5. Living in Gratitude and Generosity When we truly believe that we lack no good thing, it changes how we live. We become people of gratitude, recognizing God’s hand in every blessing. We also become people of generosity, sharing what we have with others because we trust that God will continue to provide. Gratitude and generosity are tangible expressions of our faith in God’s provision. They remind us that everything we have is a gift from Him, and they testify to His goodness in a world that often feels lacking. Psalm 34:10 is a call to trust in the Lord’s provision. It challenges us to shift our focus from our own limitations to God’s limitless power and love. As we seek Him, we will discover that He is faithful to provide everything we need—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Let us leave here today with hearts full of faith, knowing that we serve a God who promises, "Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing." May we live in the confidence of that promise, sharing His love and provision with a world in need. Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and provision. Help us to seek You above all else, trusting that You will provide every good thing we need. Teach us to live with gratitude and generosity, reflecting Your love to those around us. Strengthen our faith in times of lack, and remind us that You are always with us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen. |

15-03-2025 Sermon Title: "Guarding the Faith: Standing Firm Against the Tempter" Text: 1 Thessalonians 3:5 (KJV) "For this cause, when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain." Introduction: The Apostle Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians is filled with warmth, encouragement, and deep concern for the believers. In this verse, Paul reveals his heart for the church. He couldn’t bear not knowing how they were doing spiritually. His fear was that the tempter (Satan) might have tempted them, causing their faith to waver and his labor among them to be in vain. This verse challenges us to examine our own faith and the ways we guard it against the enemy’s schemes. 1. The Concern for Faith (The Heart of a Shepherd) Paul’s primary concern was the faith of the Thessalonians. He had invested time, energy, and love into teaching and nurturing them in the Gospel. Now, separated from them, he was anxious to know if their faith remained strong. Application: As believers, we must care deeply for one another’s spiritual well-being. Are we checking in on our brothers and sisters in Christ? Are we praying for their faith to remain steadfast? Paul’s example reminds us that faith is not just a personal matter—it’s a communal responsibility. 2. The Reality of the Tempter (The Enemy’s Schemes) Paul acknowledges the reality of the tempter—Satan, who seeks to undermine our faith. The tempter’s goal is to lead believers away from God through doubt, fear, sin, or discouragement. Application: We must be vigilant. The enemy is real, and his tactics are subtle. He may tempt us through trials, distractions, or lies. Are we aware of his schemes? Are we putting on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11) to stand firm against his attacks? 3. The Danger of Wasted Labor (The Stakes of Faithfulness) Paul feared that his labor among the Thessalonians might be in vain if their faith failed. This shows how much is at stake in our walk with Christ. The enemy wants to nullify the work of God in our lives, but we must resist him. Application: Our faithfulness to Christ is not just about us—it impacts those who have invested in us and those who are watching our lives. Are we living in a way that honors the labor of those who have discipled us? Are we ensuring that their efforts are not in vain by remaining steadfast in our faith? 4. The Call to Perseverance (Standing Firm in Faith) Paul’s solution was to send Timothy to strengthen and encourage the Thessalonians in their faith. This reminds us that we need each other to persevere. Application: We are not meant to walk this journey alone. We need the encouragement of fellow believers, the guidance of God’s Word, and the power of prayer to stand firm. Are we actively seeking support when we feel weak? Are we offering encouragement to others who may be struggling? Conclusion: Guarding the Faith 1 Thessalonians 3:5 challenges us to take our faith seriously. It reminds us that the tempter is real, but so is the power of God to keep us steadfast. Let us guard our faith, support one another, and ensure that the labor of those who have invested in us is not in vain. Call to Action - Examine your heart. Are there areas where the tempter is tempting you? - Reach out to a fellow believer this week to encourage them in their faith. - Commit to standing firm, knowing that your faithfulness honors God and those who have poured into your spiritual journey. Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of faith and for those who have invested in our spiritual growth. Help us to guard our faith against the schemes of the tempter. Strengthen us to stand firm and to encourage one another in love. May our lives bring glory to You and honor the labor of those who have discipled us. In Jesus’ name, Amen. |

"Marks of a Transformed Life" As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to live a transformed life. A life that reflects the character of God and shines with the love of Christ. In Romans 12:9-21, the Apostle Paul outlines several marks of a transformed life. These marks are not just suggestions, but essential characteristics of a Christian who is living out their faith in obedience to God. Sincere Love (Romans 12:9) "Love must be sincere." (Romans 12:9) Paul starts by emphasizing the importance of sincere love. This is not a superficial or fake love, but a genuine and heartfelt love that flows from a deep relationship with God. When we love sincerely, we love without hypocrisy or ulterior motives. Mark 2: Abhorring Evil (Romans 12:9) "Hate what is evil; cling to what is good." (Romans 12:9) A transformed life is not just about loving what is good, but also about hating what is evil. We must learn to discern between good and evil, and then make conscious choices to reject evil and cling to what is good. Devoted to One Another (Romans 12:10) "Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves." (Romans 12:10) A transformed life is not just about our individual relationship with God, but also about our relationships with others. We must be devoted to one another in love, honoring each other above ourselves. Zeal and Spiritual Fervor (Romans 12:11) "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord." (Romans 12:11) A transformed life is marked by zeal and spiritual fervor. We must be passionate about serving the Lord and living out our faith with enthusiasm and energy. Rejoicing in Hope (Romans 12:12) "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." (Romans 12:12) A transformed life is marked by hope, patience, and faithfulness. We must learn to rejoice in the hope that we have in Christ, even in the midst of affliction. Blessing Those Who Persecute (Romans 12:14) "Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse." (Romans 12:14) A transformed life is marked by a willingness to bless those who persecute us, rather than cursing them. This is a radical call to love our enemies and pray for those who mistreat us. Mark 7: Living in Harmony (Romans 12:16) "Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited." (Romans 12:16) A transformed life is marked by a desire to live in harmony with others. We must be willing to humble ourselves and associate with people of low position, rather than being proud and conceited. Conclusion: These marks of a transformed life are not just suggestions, but essential characteristics of a Christian who is living out their faith in obedience to God. As we seek to live out our faith, let us remember to love sincerely, abhor evil, be devoted to one another, and live in harmony with others. May God transform our lives and make us into the image of Christ. Reflection Questions: - Which of these marks of a transformed life do you struggle with the most? - How can you apply these marks to your life this week? - What are some ways you can demonstrate sincere love and devotion to others? |

10-03-2025 Romans 6:14-15 For sin shall have no Dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. He that finds Christ has found Grace. And he that finds Grace is covered from sin. But what do we do after we find Christ? Go back to sin? GOD FORBID. When you find righteousness, you must be intentional about avoiding sin. For darkness has no place where there is light, sin must not be found where Grace abounds. 1 Peter 1:16 says “because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy” After you receive Jesus, there comes a new battle to fight. The battle to always be holy. Prayer Point: Father, today I accept you into my life as my personal Lord and Saviour. I give you full control over my Life. Let your Grace cover me and lead me to that place you have prepared for me. And Father, give me the strength to resist the sins of the flesh. Let the devil and his instruments have no power over me for your Light is in me. Thank you, My Kind in Heaven. Amen. |

09-03-2025 Mark 10:48 And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me. Let's learn about blind Bartimæus, the son of Timæus today. He was a blind beggar. Let's briefly imagine the life of a blind beggar confined to one spot waiting for alms before he can eat. I imagine he must have hated that life. So as soon as he heard of One that can change his life, what did he do? He began to shout so he could be noticed. Now this is the interesting part, the people around him tried to shut him up but he didn't let them. Imagine if he had let them do that to him. An opportunity of a lifetime would have passed him by and he would have remained a beggar. Today, I have a funny request to ask of you. When you see an opportunity from God that can change your life for good, be shameless about it. Bartimus moved from a blind man to being whole because of his unshakeable sense of purpose. Remember Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established. Pursue your goals relentlessly and keep your eyes to God and your faith will make you a new person like it did to Bartimus. Prayer Point: Father, I thank you for today. It's a wonderful day you have made. I thank you for life and I thank you for your ending love over my life. Lord, today, I call on you for Mercy. Have Mercy over my life, have Mercy over the life of my family, have Mercy over my business, have Mercy over my health, have Mercy over all areas of my Mercy. Your Mercy causes men to find favour and be healed. Heal me, O Lord. Make me a new person today. Thank you God for my prayer has been answered. Amen. |
