Insider loaning, or is it lending, in this part of the world is the definition of conflict of interest.
I don't know why the regulators should need to be told this.
Nigeria ranks 142 out of 182 countries in global corruption index. This is not too bad, but by common sense, insider loaning smells to me like insider looting that should stop.
Let the insiders borrow from other institutions where they will be held properly accountable.

So I asked Claude AI what we can expect from Taiwo in contrast to Wale and this is the interesting answer I got. Is this also bullish for the stock market?

“This is a great question. Based on both men’s backgrounds and track records, here’s a reasoned contrast:
Wale Edun’s approach
Edun is an investment banker and close Tinubu ally with deep ties to financial markets. His tenure leaned toward macroeconomic stabilisation — exchange rate reform, courting foreign investors, and signalling orthodox monetary discipline to multilateral institutions like the IMF and World Bank.

What to expect from Oyedele
Given his background, a few shifts seem likely:
1. Fiscal activism over financial markets focus
Oyedele’s entire career has been about domestic revenue — widening the tax base, reducing leakages, and making the system fairer. Expect him to prioritise getting more Nigerians and businesses into the tax net rather than primarily managing Nigeria’s relationship with external creditors and investors.

2. Tax reform implementation
He architected Nigeria’s four new tax laws. As the full minister, he now controls the machinery to actually implement them. Expect aggressive enforcement and defence of those reforms, which he clearly believes in deeply.

3. Simplified, transparent fiscal governance
His public communications have always been plain-language and reform-oriented. He’s likely to push for clearer budget transparency and reduced off-budget spending.

4. Possible tension with the CBN
Edun and CBN Governor Cardoso had a relatively aligned relationship. Oyedele may push harder on fiscal-monetary coordination, particularly on revenue sharing and subsidy management.

5. Less investor relations focus, more domestic mobilisation
Edun spoke the language of Wall Street. Oyedele speaks the language of tax compliance and public finance. Foreign investors may find him less familiar, but domestic reformers will likely cheer.

The big question is whether he’ll have the political capital and bandwidth to execute, given that his reforms have already attracted significant resistance from powerful interests.“

As a result, Cameroun has top notch governance, advancement and everything according to the Edueco theory of sit-tight presidency.

But let me ask you something.

The people selling yams in the open market, do they talk only yams, yams, stocks, yams all day long, all week long, all month long ?

The answer is no, humans are not made that way.

When they're not busy with yams dealing, yam sellers do lift up their heads sometimes to talk of weather, church, politics, football, romance etc.

All work and no play........ grin

The market is bearish. I suspect Donald Trump's illegal war in the Middle East is contributing. I am sceptical to invest in the NGX these days as we will be impacted if the world heads to a global recession, which may be imminent.

Thank God it's neither the radical leftist Obama nor the bumbling liberal Joe Biden in power.
Try not that lunacy with Donald Trump standing back of Benjamin Netanyahu.
It cannot stand.

My stance is not religious bias but sanity and common sense.
Better we have recession than that a crazy suicidal regime be allowed to develop the capacity to actualize the genocidal ideology denoted by paragraph one of this post.

Finally, the suggestion that Trump might be the cause of your bearish market can be best described as Trump Derangement Syndrome, West Africa Province.

Which rescue?

It is all propaganda from the USA! cool
(1) The Iranians got the US airman, and are holding him as a war prisoner now.

(2) He died when his plane was shot down.

(3) He is still in the mountains, waiting to be rescued or captured.

I don't know which of the above points you're making by your kpakus arguement above. grin

InvestmentRe: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by zendi:
My Google Search :
How was the missing airman located ?

Google AI Overview :
A missing U.S. airman was located in a mountainous region of Iran by the CIA using specialized, undisclosed tracking technology to pinpoint his location to a crevice after he triggered a secure emergency beacon. The airman evaded capture for over 24 hours following the shoot-down of his jet before being rescued by special operations forces.

Location Tracking: The CIA used unique, top-secret intelligence assets to track the airman’s location 24/7, providing real-time data to the Pentagon and White House.

Beacon Activation: The airman activated his survival beacon to send a signal, which was then authenticated to prevent a trap, according to the New York Times.

Evasion Efforts: The airman was injured during the ejection but was able to climb roughly 7,000 feet up a ridgeline, where he hid while Iranian forces hunted for him.

Rescue Operation: U.S. commandos used MC-130J aircraft to locate him and Navy SEALs to execute the extraction, while U.S. warplanes bombed surrounding areas to keep Iranian forces from closing in.

Quite a thriller.

cool

GeeKudi:
He is just making statements to manipulate the market. The only way to restore normalcy to the energy market is for them (US and Istael) to get out of Iran and end the war.
GeeKudi, the war cannot be ended like a football match because the war was not started wantonly, without a reason, in the first place.
The war was started for the existential purpose (for Israel) to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapon(s).

The way to end the war is for the Iran Regime to renounce in a variable way the pursuit of nuclear weapons.
Or for the Regime to be taken out and be replaced by a moderate government (regime change).
That is, Iran changes it's policies or it's policy makers gets changed.

Trump is in in a dilemma over the war.

The war is an existential imperative for the defence of Israel.
On the other hand, the war drives up fuel prices at home plus the risk of bringing home high military casualties, with costly political consequences for the President especially in an election year.

So Trump wants to continue the war and at the same wants to end it, with crude oil responding to his every cough or grunt.

Wigwe made more than $US 4 million from ACCESSCORP dividends annually.

Do you even know the power of 4 million dollars?

He could have acquired those London properties mostly from the proceeds of his annual dividends.
4 million dollars is for building his Ikoyi palace and other toys, not for acquiring chunks of London with pound sterling.

But the two companies have something in common...😄

Lesson... avoid loss making companies, the headache is not worth it.
But remember, it is the loss making status that makes them available/affordable..
When they cease loss making you pay the premium to those who bought them in loss making.

Jeff Bezos said Amazon reported losses for 11 years while he scaled up the business.

The risk-free life is not available.

The original founder (Adu) actually passed on (died) some years back—I think 2014/15.

Edited: Ayoleke Adu was not the founder but the MD/CEO who was the brain behind their online trading platform (itrade). He died in August 2016.
That was long ago, can't be the reason for their present poor services.

Ok, thanks for that info.
