The Management of Shoprite Mall in Owerri, the Imo State capital, has shut the Mall to forestall possible attack by aggrieved Nigerians in repraisal to the killing of Nigerians in South Africa.

Armed Policemen have also cordoned off the premises to forestall possible breakdown of law and order.

Also heavily police were in the state capital were MTN, DSTV and GoTV offices, as well as other businesses with South African interests.

When out our Correspondent visited the Shoprite Mall, stern looking Policemen barricaded the entry gate and turned back all vehicles.

When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Orlando Ikeokwu, a Superintendent of Police, said that the Police took the deployed officers to businesses with South African interests to prevent breakdown of law and order in the state.

He said that the condoning off was the offshoot of the protest by Nigerians following the xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

Reports filtering in has it that Alhaji RB Tinubu, former Lagos Head of Sevrice, is dead.

He died in Abuja this morning and his remains will be buried today in Lagos.

This is coming following the violence against foreign nationals, including Nigerians, in South Africa which has sparked a nationwide outrage.

Parents and their wards have been left puzzled and totally stranded at the ongoing 4th Induction/Oath Taking Ceremony organized by the *Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Ilorin (Unilorin)* in conjunction with the Pharmacist Council of Nigeria (PCN) as the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem ordered the sudden cancellation of the 32-man list of graduating students earlier issued by the faculty.

According to the video, the graduands were stripped off their gowns at the entrance of the venue because they didn’t pass a course which was waived by the immediate past Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Late Prof. Abdulkareem Aguna.

The student added that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Age Abdulkareem, who’s opposed to the waiver was quoted as saying he was indisposed to honoring the opinion of the late dean since he is no more.

The event, which was scheduled to commence at exactly 10:00 am today at the University Auditorium, was delayed until noon *because the VC was reportedly reluctant to attend because he wasn’t adequately carried along*. Parents and affected students couldn’t hold back their tears, having been told to prepare for today’s ceremony.

Surprisingly the department’s best graduating student, Lawal Azeemat Adeola, who’s number 20 on the graduation list wasn’t also qualified to graduate.

After the serious beating, Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku, chairman Imo state recovery team tells his story.

Hon. Jasper Ndubuaku who led his team to invade Rochas Okorocha's property, received the beating of his life at Spibat, Owerri.

It was gathered that the youths of Owerri gathered and gave him a thorough beating after they protested that the government of Emeka Ihedioha has failed them after 3 months.

Ndubuaku while addressing journalists, he narrated how Rochas has declared war on Imo people by attacking him and how he was rescued by men of the Nigerian police force.

Three suspected car snatchers have been arrested with over 150 handsets reasonably suspected to have been stolen from different victims.

The Anambra State Police spokesperson, Haruna Mohammed, said the suspects were part of the gang allegedly involved in series of armed robbery/carjacking in Anambra and Asaba axis.

Mohammed gave their names as Anyingor Arinze of Otueke, Asaba Delta State; Chinedu Nweke of Mbekwe Estate, Ogidi and Ebuka Christian Eziamaka of Ire village, Obosi, both of Idemili North LGA of Anambra State.

He also listed the stolen vehicles to include one Toyota Corolla 2004 and Lexus 300 car in Aguata.

Two sisters, the eldest having a set of twins aged 3-years all died in the ship wreck which occurred recently in the high sea carrying passengers from Nigeria to Cameroon.

They are all inhabitants of Buea, located in the South West Region of Cameroon precisely Sampit and Buea town. The bodies of the two women have been brought to the mortuary at the Buea Regional Hospital, while those of the two little boys are still missing.

The total number of passengers was 200, so far, 107 people were rescued while 90 bodies were retrieved, 3 bodies still lost in the sea. It is alerted that the ship wreck was caused as a result of the high tides and over load, many speculate.
