Read through some post, seems it's a nice place to be. I however noticed not much stories from after study. Non at all. Mostly people stop posting when the get there newly and settle down.
Anyways, I will like to ask an important question. What are the chances of remaining there in Germany after your education? What are the chances of getting a job.
After the studies, do you just come back home straight?
Thanks in anticipation.

beebee5000 suxes2005 HARTZIV and other veterans please help with answers.

after u have ur german degree u are allowed to stay for 18 month for jobsearching

if u will be able to find a job depends on many things
- grades of ur degree
- language skills
- course u studdied
- study time
- self-confident appearance
- reputation of ur university
- internships
- economic trend

but generally i thinks its easier to get a job in germany than in most other eu states

TV01:
Actually, I think koning got it right.

The OP asks if marriage is a measure of success - and yes, it is one amongst many and a successfull marriage can enhance all the others and does not necessarily impair them.

Success is an abstract value, so if marital success has little or no meaning to certain Germans", it matters not, it may to others.

Which proves the point and also answers dasparrow wrong inference about marriage not moving a nation forward.

The replacement birthrate is about 2.2. Germany - even with the immigrations - is below that. It will affect their national success, as they will have to rely on immigrants, who in all liklihood will come from contries with values different to theirs.

And those immigrant can not come from other European countries "like them", because they are all in the same boat - below replacement birthrates. So yes, good marriages are a measure of individual and national success and achievement. Germany will soon come to that realisation and correct their abstract grin!

im not sying this is good or bad; i just wanted to point out that there is a huge diffentce betwen the "the yardstick of sucess" of the nigerian society and "the yardstick of sucess" of the europe coutrys relating to the status of marrige

koning:

Nothing to do with "Nigerian mentality" . What the Op said is applicable to almost everywhere in the world. Including the US, UK and Europe. The whole of Asia and South America.

Try getting a visitors Visa in any embassy in Nigeria as a single man or woman. It's 10x more difficult.
Being married gives you an edge every where in the world. Being married with children tripples your credibilty.

You die hard feminists should stop blaming Nigeria for all your short commings.

no i think there is a huge difference betwenn nigeria and europe
in germany the yardstick for success is the car u drive, the house u live in the job u do
the peope to associate having a familiy (espcially with 2+ childin) with a boring life without the freedom to do what they want to do and they dont acknowledge the hard work of raising chidren

if u ask a young german guy how he wants his live to be like he will say: be succesfull in the job, earning much money, having as less commitments as possible, travel a lot , having a nice girlfriend, and go out with her at the weekend

the society there looks down on big familys thats why the birth per woman rate in germany is 1.4
Family / Re: Is Marriage A Measure Of Success In Life? by ZERKNICHTER(m): 12:02pm On Oct 01, 2014
i think the marriage thing is overrated
my parents are living togather since 40 years without being married and some people divorce after a year
Marriage is just signing a piece of paper
Politics / Re: Who are The Problem Of Nigeria? The Leaders Or The Followers by ZERKNICHTER(m): 1:42am On Oct 01, 2014
in a democracy the people should control their leaders but to do so people need to invest money for a free investigativ press and they need to invest time to deal with te polictical problems of the country
in every country in the world big complanys are trying to influnce the political decisions to there own advantage but its the job of a society to defend their democracy against those influences
but that doesn't works very well in nigeria...

so i would say its the lack of responsebility of the people...

there are no deformities especially caused by incest
there is just a higher risk the child will get any genetic disorder if there is any genetic disorder potential in the family

like the risk of having a child with down syndrome is 83 times higher if the mother is older than 49 compared to a mother under 30

The whole world just woke up on the morning of the predestined day for the realisation of the shape of the world? That's some progress, I tell ya.

there values evolved ober the time form the medieval age, were they were burnig redheaded people alive, to todays modern society were the right of everyone are respected as longe they dont affect the rights of somebody else

they just came to the conclusion there is no reason so they allowed it like they came to the conclusion that the world is not flat what they were thinking for more than 1000 years

it became legale because there is just no reason to forbid it

@bold

But if two 14 year olds have s.ex, nothing will happen so if a 14-year-old brother abuses his younger sister, it will be ok too if in.cest is legal.
It is illegal for now.

Besides, children have to have the security that a family is a place where they are AT LEAST protected by the law.

what u are describing is the extremly rate
in at least 99% of the cases adult abusing children
and even if if the offender is 14 years old, they would put him in a child psychiatry instead of charging him

carefreewannabe:
I am not saying that abuse doesn't take place in families. It does but it is punishable and I think it should remain like that.
If we allow in.cest then it will be easier for offenders to get away with it.

just no!
se.x with children is a much more servere crime than ince.st in germany
relatives having sex with childen will be sentenced for child molestation and not for ince.st so making in.cest legal will not change anything
in germany its even illegal for adult to have s.ex with below 16 year old person
this argument is invalid

to everyone who wants to take part on this dicussion but dont know how to write a proper post; this is how u do it:

a good post consists of 3 parts

1. the insult
- pick a random gut with a diffenrent opinion and insult him
- in this part your own creativity is needed but it is importend to to deny him any kind of responsibility and success
- in case u have no idear what to call him go with the standard: asylum seeker or just stupid loser

2. the argument
- this is the easest part; u just have to copy a random argument mentioned in the 25 pages before because everything has been said
- maybe change some words to make it more individual

3. the proof
- now add a story of a random guy u have heard of to proof your argument
- if your story is not convincing engough, change or add something
- in exceptional cases u can tell your own story instead

experienced poster might try to mix the 3 parts but thats not recommended for a beginner!!!

happy debating to everyone grin
Education / Re: Why Do We Go To School? by ZERKNICHTER(m): 1:42pm On Sep 30, 2014
beeing good in schoold dont means someone will have what it takes to be sucessfull in live but to get a good job on a job market with strong oversupply, its necessary to have a good looking curriculum vitae

good marks in school or university are no prove for good woking skills but how else emplovers sould decide who to hire when the school/university degree is everything they know about job candidates?

we are not living in small viliges anymore where everybody knows everybody

beeing a sucessfluss buinessman is a differnt story because you dont need to proof your skills to somebody bevor getting the chance to prove yourself

Superstar007:

Right here is your answer. In simple terms, the woman robbed him of 800naira and 200naira worth of goods. Then he dashed 1000 to his friend so total money lost is #1800. Loss incured is #2,000. If you no still understand, e mean say one mama for villa dey use your pic do handfan.

if he has lost 1800 who has gaind that money during the process?
the scammer gaind 1000 and john gaind nothing

-------------

and in case the 1000 naira note would be ok, he would have lost nothing till the moment he destroyed it
how can u lose 1800 by destroying a 1000 note?
Nairaland / General / Re: No One Can Get This Question Correctly, Have A Look. by ZERKNICHTER(m): 10:28pm On Sep 28, 2014
he lost between 800 and 1000 depends on how much he has paid for the goods

1. he gave 1000 (200 goods and 800 change) for nothing
2. he exchanges nothing with 1000
3. he exchanges 1000 for nothing

-1000 but i guess he has not paid 200 for the goods he sells for 200 so it might be less

I am dead seriuos about the security issue. The girls and Boko Haram is a one off incident. Besides, how many people died at the World Trade Center( 9/11). Not to mention the School shootings in the US and Knife stabbings in S.E. London. I'm guessing you live in Lagos, which is supposedly our most insecure city. Have you noticed how dead Lagos is after 10pm. The only places you will find people roaming around are the busy market centres like Ikeja under bridge, Ojota, Obalende etc. Most residential areas in Lagos are virtually empty after 09.30pm. Nigerians value life. There is still that sanctity for human life.
In the West someone can just waste your life for something that does not concern you. Lots of random, senseless killings. Sorry, i consider Nigeria safer. I am talking out of experience.

in 2011 nigeria hab 12.2 murders per 100,000 people; usa had 4.2 und most eu countries below 1

here in germany its very hard to achiev social status and to work your was up the charrer ladder if u havent viseted a german school or a german univertiy

here we have two differnent typs of education:
1. job training
to get a job training contract you need a german school graduation and u have to be young
if ur older than 23 its very hard to get a job training contact even for nativ germans

2. universitys and fhs
with a german university degree (in a wanted subject) u have the requirements to get a good job and worke your way up the charrer ladder but if your older then 30 (without any working experience) its getting hard to find a job

as a unskilled worker in germany u will have enough to eat and enjoy a good health care but its very hard (nearly impossible) achieve social status or work your way up - things have changed the "rags to riches" storys wont happen anymore

to summarise up: its hard to get acress to the "first" working market if u have a late start and i guess thats not much different in the rest of the western wold

...everyone should be clear aout that before migrating but dont get me wrong this should not be a statment against migration in general

Only VIOLENT resistance can change Nigeria. Our politicians understand no other BUT violence. The citizens are the only ones who can change Nigeria. Either you rise up and demand PROPER and lasting reforms or you continue to get duped. I watched the Arab Spring revolutions and though to myself if only these protesters can come to Nigeria and see the situation of the citizens, maybe they might appreciate their situation a bit more. If ANY country needed a revolution the most, it is NIGERIA.

RANT OVER.

in my opinion violence wont change anything
even if they would manage to overthrow the government in lass than 3 years the situation would be worse than now

what main question ist: what is needed to run a good working democracy?
in a democracy the people should control their leaders but if the people dont know how to feed their familiy tomorrow they wont care for politics
a democracy needs people who are willing to invest money for a free investigativ press und to invest time to deal with te polictical problems of the country... a poor man wont do that
in every country in the world big complays are trying to influnce the political leaders to exploit the people but its the job of a counrty to defend themselfs against those companys
if it gets public a german, swedish or uk politican took money from a company, his political charrer would be over, he wouldnt even be allowed to clean the toilet of the parlament and there are a lot a journalists around who are doing everything to expose things like that

a democracy has to defend themselfs otherwise they will be exploted by corrupt leaders influenced by companys and there lobbyists

nigeria has a long way to go to become that kind of democracy but violence cant fix it

ps sry for bad english grin
