And AliExpress is very fast now

I'll give you 2 examples
1. My brother bought 3 iPhone X pouches and 1 umidigi a7pro pouch and all of them arrived in a month
I know someone that ordered a phone Blackview a80 pro from AliExpress and changed his mind and cancelled the purchase I don't know how long it must have taken because he ordered during the lockdown
But despite cancelling the order and being refunded the phone was still delivered

You can go ahead to order from AliExpress now I think it's pretty safe

The most important thing to ever consider when buying a phone is the processor.

That why iPhone are on a league of there own. There processors are 50% faster than Qualcomm's snapdragon

Well yes IPhone processors are pretty cool but it depends on which you're comparing to which on a site I saw 2 iPhone processors were at the top of the list in terms of performance
But some Snapdragon and mediatek processors are still better than some iPhone processors not to mention Samsung exynos processors, it seems like a sort of race for performance between all of them.

I updated my redmi recently, I noticed that the internet speed suddenly increase however my battery was draining fast, however, this has been corrected by updating. What I found strange is why most commenters and posters rarely discuss the processor of a phone as it relates to the internet speed all I see is gaming. They haven't been able to relate browsing speed and gaming with phone processor. What they fail to acknowledge especially those xiaomite is the fact that many persons aren't interested in gaming.

I think most Xiaomi fans on Nairaland are slowly coming to realise that sha, I've seen someone say something similar to this that Xiaomi users can recommend a phone with good processor for gaming to a grandma who only needs to call and receive calls

But not all Xiaomi users are like that actually
But hopefully Nairaland Phones section will become a better place where tech savvy people will be able to communicate politely without any bias whatsoever

I'll advise you to go for redmi 9
Yes the tecno's battery is enticing and all but think about it man. Battery isn't all that makes a phone although it depends on how you plan to use it

If you are someone that will push a phone to its limits with multitasking or gaming or you like to customise your phone system to suit your personality then the Tecno isn't the right phone for you

I'll state other reasons now

Tecno poivoir 4pro has Helio p23 processor (weak)
Redmi 9 has Helio G90 processor (much stronger)

Tecno screen has 720p resolution (basic)
Redmi 9 screen is 1080p resolution (better)

Tecno has 16mp main camera(could be slightly better)
Redmi has 13mp main camera (moderate)

Redmi has gorilla glass 3 protection for the screen
The Tecno has no protection

The Tecno has 6000mah (bigger)
The redmi has 5000mah (big)
[however the tecno's processor is the downfall of such a huge battery, the processor isn't very energy efficient hence it might drain a bit faster than you'd expect]

Ultimately it's your choice but the redmi is better in every other way except battery and camera

Do you play Call of Duty Mobile?

It happens when I play CODM and I can play for hours as long as my battery will last
It also happens when I use Pinterest (another app which I can keep using for hours)

Personally I think the battery is great
The only issue I think it has is screen retention issues

When you use an app for very long time and switch to another app or home screen you can still see the layout and colours of that app you just switched from although very very faintly, but it goes away after a few minutes.

To me this isn't a problem because it doesn't affect performance in anyway and it's not obvious or opaque enough to be distracting

Moreso I saw briefly on a YouTube channel talking about how MIUI12 will fix that (didn't view the video and I don't know if it's true but I hope it is sha fingers crossed)

But even with that flaw it's a great device
The screen resolution is great
The cameras are great in good lighting conditions
And the processor is quite powerful as well

But if the phone has a big lens and is currently at the top of the list at dxomark then it's safe to admit it's not big for nothing

48mp lenses are quite bigger that 16mp lenses
And the implication is the level of detail that both can capture

If you zoom a 48mp image to 2x it still look quite clear so imagine what a lens as large as the mi10ultra would be like

And another thing is that when you said "most Xiaomi midrangers have average camera" this really caught my attention so I have 2 questions

1. What qualifies as "average" to you?
2. How many Xiaomi midrange cameras have you seen to make that conclusion?

Based on my own experience

I've compared my Redmi note 8 against Nokia 6.1+, Tecno Camon 15, infinix s5, Umidigi a7pro, iPhone 6s and iPhone 11

Only 4 are worthy of mention

My redmi note 8 performed better in good lighting conditions than most of the phones on this list even the iPhone 6s user admitted that it's clearer than her phone and she's a lady so I'm sure she knows what she's saying

In terms of colour I think the iPhone 11 or Nokia 6.1+ would be the winner but the iPhone 11 user claimed my phone's camera displays true colour and it's not "oversaturated or cartoonish" like the iPhone 11 but the portrait mode and low light conditions smashed my redmi note 8 back to back cheesy

I was humbled that day.

In terms of low light oooo even the umidigi a7pro is slightly better than my redmi but ultimately the iPhone was king

So if I were to rank it it'll be

iPhone 11
[iPhone 6s/redmi note 8] don't know which is truly better than which here
Nokia
Umidigi
And others

Mi 10 ultra earned its place on that list have you seen the size of the lens on that phone? It's f***ing massive!

Secondly, people use gcam to boost their camera performance this doesn't meant it wasn't performing well before you know most people like the best

I use a Redmi note 8 and anytime I remove the phone to snap people always say it's very clear and that the colours are true I'm not even using gcam because I fear it may have side effects

Mehn Tecno is not it all . I'm using a Tecno F1 to write this so I'm not against Tecno. You have to be extremely careful when buying any phone brand. The Tecno camon 16 premier back camera is either a Scam or they have serious technical problems, I have seen better cameras on 45k phones.. My take is only buy phones you have seen people use to get enough time to test the phone out. Alot of Brands from Infinix, xiaomi, Huawei, Lenovo have camera quality issues. It may be accidental, technical or software problems. My take is take your time to buy a phone and don't be fooled by the name of the brand.
