There's ups and downs to every single brand,

Nokia makes quality phones but are sometimes expensive
Tecno makes weaker phones (in terms of processing power) but in return their parts are very much available
Samsung phones are innovative and sleek but have steep prices even for their replacement parts
iPhones are beautiful but can't be used to even send files to an android and their phones are pretty expensive

And so on and so forth

If you paid attention to my post I didn't say anything about the African market or that their phones don't have bugs, for you to keep mentioning that strikes me as a disturbing case



First of all the ones you think "bad mouth" (which in this case is just people telling the plain truth) are not affiliated with Xiaomi in anyway, those are the fans, a company will not bad mouth another company for sales

Secondly the so-called bad mouthing has lots of valid evidence of you, you'd only miss it if you choose to be ignorant
On AliExpress Redmi note 8 is sold for about 55,000 or so
Tecno's Camon 15 costs more than that even though it's inferior to redmi note 8 almost every way. Except the front camera that's 16mp

I think you're only pushing this argument because you're not informed
Even Tecno Camon 15 premier only beats the redmi note 8 in terms of camera

If they made phones and it didn't cost as much as they made it cost I doubt people would have any reason to complain

Come to think of if the camon 16 has a very good processor (Helio G90T) so why the sudden change?
You'd never find a Xiaomi fan "badmouthing" a Samsung, Huawei or an iPhone or even a Nokia or an Umidigi simply because they realise that those phones are of good quality as well.

If you know how to manage your device well i don't see why you should be worrying about availability of spare parts. Been using my Redmi for 4 months now without any form of screen protector and not a single scratch is on it. Unless your phone came with a factory fault which rarely happens you won't be needing spare parts if you take good care of your device.

A quick look and teardown of all the brands would prove why most Xiaomi or Samsung users are bitter at transsion holdings but I don't know why most people would choose to ignore that

While you're correct about the scarcity of parts and I think that's because their presence here in Nigeria is not very strong yet,the majority are still using Tecno infinix Samsung or iPhone

However I doubt that the so called "marketers" bad mouth any phone
Each person speaks based on his experience using a phone just like you now, you think Xiaomi is bad because of their scarcity of parts but you didn't include the better performance for price that most of their phones offer which is more suitable for heavy gamers like myself,

You also didn't include the fact that unlike Tecno and infinix they pay attention to bugs on their OS and release updates to fix it and they push recent updates to much older devices which is pretty cool although the downside is that sometimes those updates themselves may come with bugs but you can trust them to fix it

Tecno and infinix only recently started making phones that have an impressive soc and honestly I hope they continue that way

Personally my experience with Tecno is I had to restore factory settings every 2 - 3 months just so my phone wouldn't lag
I thought infinix would be better so I rushed to buy infinix hot S only for me to smash it myself out of anger of constant charging issue less than 2 years after

So far my redmi hasn't given me any problems and provides a lot of cool features
Though I admit the scarcity of parts is somewhat troubling but this just means I have to treat my phone better than I would treat an egg

In this case Redmi 9 has a more powerful chipset

But because he saw big bag and 2 android phones he immediately assumed I was a yahoo boy as well I just remained calm and answered their barrage of questions politely and after seeing no evidence of foul play he let me continue my journey but I wasted like 10 minutes there that day, imagine of I was going for something very important that I must not be late to what would have happened?
I had to keep explaining that I am a student and I need the laptop for my studies I was afraid to tell them that I'm in Computer Science Department so that they won't delay me the more

The thing is that if we were to investigate well it'd be the police that escalated the situation

You know note 7 and zero 8 are the only phones that infinix has made so far that is equal to (note 7 is equal to redmi note 8 ) and better than (zero 8 is much better than redmi note 8 )
But there are other Xiaomi/Redmi devices that will definitely beat this phone but they'd cost a bit more though
