***. She does not need an appointment before coming to Nigeria . Applying before coming to Nigeria is against the rule of most visa application especially for principal applicant because that will amount to impersonation or misrepresentation of fact. She must have landed in Nigeria before she make the moves.

Every IW (renewal) visa applicant has the tendency of post verification of physical residency which can be done by only inserting the applicant 's passport number in the data base , therefore i am against applying before arriving.

She doesn't have to rush. When she arrives her application can be fast track based on the information in her Form- I20. US embassy understands international student's resumption deadlines through their I 20s and DS- 160 information. This is why it is of utmost importance that your ds-160 is completely filled and submitted prior to any US visa appointment application. 👍

Hello.
All things being equal the first payment was temporarily successful and was later declined or retracted. The major cause can be the fact that it was discovered that she is not physically present in Nigeria which is against the rule of IW qualification and she also must have secured the first (expired or about to expire ) visa in Nigeria .

Even with that , she did not have any OIS drop off appointment letter(she did not create the profile) so she would have eventually forfeited the appointment.

In this whole scenario, the applicant or the person who started the application process from ds 160 to processing payment teller is not experienced enough. Therefore ,it is better you handle it or seek more knowledgeable person to initial the new application.

Note She has to open a new profile 👍

This payment have been void. The payment was temporarily successful that was why you were able to schedule that appointment. The card transaction was later declined.

** By the way why are you stressing about it again ? I thought the main applicant is still over in the US and could not meet up with the appointment you scheduled?

** Chidi allow the applicant to open another profile and pay another MRV when she lands in Nigeria. Or is this a new payment issue ? 👍

I logged on today to see that this issue has been resolved.

Mine is no longer showing the "No active receipt found for applicant/application"

I also saw couple of available dates for March 2025.

**. Even if it's not a good idea it is now a must-do idea 😊 She does not even have OIS for drop off appointment and if she has where is the physical passport that you want to go and drop ?

** Her I 20 is still valid, they cannot cancel it until after the school's resumption date. 👍 Why can't she even stay over and finish her study ? She does not have to come and renew ... Except if she really really want or needs to visit Nigeria.

I have answered this question once and asked you few questions which you refused to answer. I will tell you my true opinion again.

The first arrow (downward) indicated that she has a payment issue or was that not her avits profile screnshoted by you ?

The 2nd arrow (pointing to reschedule upward) indicated that she has a complicated appointment because any reschedule prompt must tell (display) you how many time you can reschedule but time grace is not displaying under the reschedule.

I am asking the question again ...1. How did she make payment ? 2. Is she physically in Nigeria ?

** My best permutation is that she has payment error. This can be detected by the embassy even after she must have picked a date and the date is now suspended (just my reasoning based on the display of her profile).

NOTE:. Do not cancel the appointment because if you do you have officially rejected the appointment and ready to pay another MRV (visa fee).

** Allow tomorrow to go naturally. You need to email the embassy and copy avits amentum with all the error screenshots.

Note2. Abandon that profile entirely and start afresh from a new AVITS profile if you are ready to pay a new MRV. Good LucK 👍

Hello all.

Please this is the situation of someone.

She is a PhD student in the USA and she applied for an interview waiver (Dropbox) for Abuja to to renew her visa. But no dates in Abuja again for that option, and when she tries to use emergency, it says she is not eligible. She has also tried rescheduling but that calendar page is blank. What can be done please. She really needs May date for Abuja.

Your attachment showed a successful booking of April 28th for the said applicant and the next step for her should be OIS drop off appointment. Despite this she is supposed to have at least 3x reschedule options on her dashboard but that also seems to have disappeared?

Anyone under F1 visa appointment (fresh or renewal) is supposed to also qualify for Expedite appointment but if the option is also not displaying well that means she is not qualified.

I want to summarise that her MRV payment confirmation has issue based on the inscription in her profile .

* Is she physically in Nigeria ?
*How did she pay the visa fee ?
*Was her initial visa issued in Nigeria ?

May be she should write to the embassy on profile issue .

Yes when I click on print appointment date. The 28 April date shows. But April is too early. She needs May. When she was booking there were no May dates in Abuja, just Lagos. So she picked the April date hoping to be able to reschedule. That is now looking impossible and this April is unlikely cos she has exams. The whole thing is stressful

Hallo Missidy.
Nothing wrong in choosing free delivery. Free delivery is default (natural) so you will have your passport waiting for you at your choosing location. But waiting issue or confusion of delivery may occur as described below ;

@zinachidi,
If Abuja is your interview post you cannot chose free delivery to Lagos. Your free delivery can only be to Abuja DHL or OIS and same rule applies to Lagos. You may however changed from Free delivery (to Abuja or Lagos) to premium (paid) delivery to anywhere.

NOTE. Waiting or delay or communication issues arises when you suddenly (after visa issuance) changed from free delivery to premium delivery because systems have to be updated for your passport to be able to change route and if the system update is slow, US embassy will send your passport to your default (your first preference) location and that is when the issue of misplaced passport arise.
