My pre approval didn't take more than 45 mins (Lagos) on Tuesday. I guess it's luck, cos I'm seeing people saying it took weeks. The Koko now is getting date. Earliest date I saw was 10 January 2025 by 6:45 am, but when I try to click it, it says slot is already taken. Same with other dates I saw. If the slot is already taken , so why is it green then? Same with other dates I try to take. Because I want to pick a date first then apply for expedited appointment to get date in November or maybe early December.

Has anyone experienced this? How do I go about it and know available slots

What has the surname got to do with it?

just curious really. Do you think it is? It states in my I-20 that he is my step brother as well

Donbigi2:
Same surname?

no

Please guys is it a red flag if my step brother is my sponsor for my F1? He didn't take our surname, same mom, different dads.

Hi Zinachidi,

Why would a former employer choose to sponsor you? Spend a large portion of his life savings on you? Why? To maintain a close relationship with you? What does he stands to gain? Your friendship?

I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but you should understand that VOs are trained professionals with a high intelligence quotient. They probably won't buy your story, and there's a high propensity that they won't demand your affidavit and bank statements either.

thanks you for that insight, I appreciate the frankness, really

NoseDive2Succes:
Hi zinachidi

Anyone presenting himself or herself as your sponsor is acceptable. Reasons for wanting to sponsor you can be one hundred reasons, therefore,.any sponsor you presented is welcome if the embassy can verify the genuineness and availability of the funds. His bank statement and the back up affidavit of support is sufficient.

Google.

ok thanks

Hi guys,

So my former CEO/boss has agreed to be my sponsor for my masters in the USA, is this acceptable? I left his company 2 years ago, but I still do business for him so we are quite close. Can this be a flag in the VO's mind? Since he is not family and I haven't "officially" worked for him in for the past two years. Will his affidavit of support and bank statements be okay? Or is there anything I am required to bring again.

Please anyone can respond to me. Thanks

Emails are being recalled or cancelled. You will get a feedback on this is 24 hours on your time. Respond to the mail you were sent. You will get a feedback in 24 hours. Don't bother going anywhere if you were not told to, you'll come back empty handed.

This info is legit.

thanks, I just called the lady said the same thing, so we wait. Please guys don't go anywhere

BrosMayowa:
The email I got said: “times will be allocated and sent subsequently”. They didn’t even confirm whether it was virtual or physical until I received a Team’s invite scheduling me for 7PM only for it to be canceled about 4 hours later.

It’s actually confusing because what am I supposed to do now? Head down there when I only received a virtual invite? Plus, I’m not even prepared to head down there as it stands. I’m not in Lagos. E go pain me if it turns out they were expecting physical when they didn’t say anything o. E no just make sense.

Bro your own is pretty clear, it was Cancelled, me I didn't even get a Teams Invite, I didn't get a cancellation email, nothing, just that it's today, and the time will be subsequently sent to me, talmbout I'm one the 48 people and they'd like to meet me in person, (physical or virtual, I no even know)

hebukun15:
I guess I will also have to be there as well as I didn't receive any mail to the time of mine as well.

the email was just so unprofessional, no time, no venue, I know it obviously has to be the Ikoyi office, but you have to put it there. I feel they'll tell us to go back, but I understand why we have to go, e dey pain me cos I no get that tfare to waste to go Yaba to Ikoyi, come back empty handed. Shaa, I hope they'll reply our mails maybe around 9, by then office don open, but I'll call the two numbers on their website and see if I can get a response

a1atthewheel:
I haven't received any email as to the time of mine. I intend to be there by 10 am sha. Worst case they'll send me back. Let it not be like I played myself by not going.

I sent you a mail bro, please get back, I want to call you tomorrow if you get there, if I looks like it'll get head, I'll start coming, because I dey Yaba like this, I no get tfare to waste

elijahtemitope:

I'm interested boss

Drop WhatsApp number, or telegram handle if you want more privacy

If you are very good with MS Excel/PDF and in need of some cash, I have a small gig for you.

In summary, you just have to create or edit an excel spreadsheet as complex as something like a college transcript for a project of mine. I'll give you a sample then you create new one or edit the sample to my taste.
