I have read the bible and still read it these days not as a holy book but another piece of fiction literature in the mould of "Things fall apart, James hardley chase novels or the harry potter chronicles. They all share one thing in common. Historical fiction and if you get too engrossed in it, it might sound very real and true to you.

2. I probably know the bible better than you and if you quote this, i might just look up the passage or verse and quote other wise to contradict what you just said.

3.Yes your right, i stopped going to church when i realised that it was turning into a micro-finance bank filled with circus performers and wannabe conference speakers. I go once in a while when i am bored to catch up on the latest entertainment that i could have missed 6 months ago but i end up sleeping off when the pastor gets into his windy, long and boring fire branding message of the day. Anyway, the churches have a use to me whenever i go. Those pews are very comfortable when you want to sleep and they are really designed well. I ought to get one in my house someday.

4. I dont believe in the biblical god as the god that made heaven or earth or what so ever due to the inherent contradictions and half truths and uncompleted stories that can be best described as a fable. What i know is that how we are created is a mystery that hasnt been rationally explained and not because it hasnt been rationally explained by someone or a group, that doesnt mean we should now accept the stories of another group when it has no conclusive evidence.

There are so many gods ranging from allah to zeus, osiris, buddah, oduduwa etc with all different stories about how the world was created. If i cant believe the god zeus because it doesnt sound and feel right, what makes the god of the bible better than them? Theu all share the same characteristics of not been ever seen and their stories were written by the so called inspired men of these gods.

Until there is a rational and conclusive evidence that the biblical god made the heavens and earth, i will not rely on such fables as a source of belief. The most hilarious of the genesis story is the story that god removed a rib from adam and created eve. So god was involved in cloning way before dolly the sheep 5,000 years later? If he just created adam from dust just like that, why go through the stress of stealing a rib from adam and causing a deep sleep to create eve? at least when he made the male and female orangutans, he didnt remove the male tonsils of the orangutan to create the female orangutan neither did he do the same for the female kangaroos, male elephants and what so ever animals. Its even absurd to think of god just created over 100 million species of animals and insects male and female just in a day?

Besides when god said lets make man in our own image, werent there any women in heaven or wherever he was just floating around from?, Jeez gimme a break!

5. Finally how can i believe the bible is a word of a holy god? A book filled with monsterous atrocities of the highest proportion, slavery, murders, debauchery,immorality, misnognmy,curses, homosexuality, drunkeness and the like and you want me to accept that as a book inspired by a holy and good god?, Abeg bros, forget that side.

understand your position. Blame those false teachers who distort the meaning of the word hell. The word hell is translated from different words each having their own meaning.

In the Old testament we find: 31 times from "sheol" which means grave.

In the New testament we find the use of hades 10 times which means the grave, we also find the use of gehenna 12 times which means "the place of burning" , we also find the use of tartarus being used once to mean "a place of darkness"

54 times in all.

Hell is both a place and an event. This earth will become a ball of fire but only after God has finished judging all men and showing them their deeds, and why He must put an end to their miserable lives. Both will experience a resurrection, except that the righteous would have been given an immortal body, while the bodies of the wicked will be as before they died. The spirit is one's life force. Its the same thing as the breath that was placed in Adam's lifeless body. It is God who places this spirit in us and only He can remove it, and incidentally Solomon says it goes back to God after death. Firstly, there is no problem with atheists. The truth is atheists are way too far intelligent and rational than theists who believe in imaginary faith and dumb belief. If there were no theists there will be no atheists. Now most theists that love to harass atheists are mostly from the christian sect or organized cult who get aggrevated when ever they hear that not everybody is a zombie and doesnt follow some dumb stupid book that is filled with fallacies and contradictions enough to make the harry potter books green with envy.

The greatest enemy of the bible isnt an atheist but science, archeology, geology and history. For every nonsense written in the bible, it takes a rational mind to check it out whether it is true or false and so far so good, almost all the events and happenings in the bible has been dismissed by intelligent people as mere fabrications or widely unbelievable stories or plain plagiarism from old pagan religions.

How then should a christian apologist like someone that discovers that biblical stories are mere inventions written by illiterates hiding under the guise of prophets?

How can you say an intelligent holy prophet of God could write this:

Does this statement make sense in a book that is supposed to be holy? Can you read this kind of story to your children at night before they sleep?

Imagine a kind loving God who profess to have created man in his own image and kindness order the death of his own creation. This doesnt inspire any confidence of omniscence to me. If he knew they were going to be killed, why create them in the first place? If he knew they were going to be killed and he still went ahead to create them, doesnt that show he is a sick dude who creates and enjoys the bloody scenes of blood flying around like some 14th century roman gladiator match?

Since it is said that whoever prays to the lord his prayers will be answered. Well i have some fantastic prayers for God to answer ASAP:

1. My neighbour was shot by armed robbers and his 2 legs and arms were amputated. Dear god, i hear your so powerful and merciful and very miraculous in your dealings. Is it ever going to be possible that during my neighbours life time, his legs and arms would grow back together? This is an urgent request because he was such a good footballer and he still has plans to play as a striker for Nigeria at the next world cup in south africa 2010. He hopes to score a hattrick against brazil in the final with his new found feet from you.

2. Also dear lord, you told me to read the bible and i read 2 Kings, 2:23-24. which says

23: And he (Elisha) went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head.
24: And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and ATE forty and two children of them."

Just as Elisha cursed little children in your name for just merely calling him a bald headed freak and told 2 bears to eat up 42 children due to your powers, Can you lord give me such powers to call out 2 snakes and 3 wild tigers to eat up 19 children who have been calling me "big head" for the past one week. I really need your power through prayers to make sure wild animals eat up these foolish children. If Elisha can do it, surely you can give me such powers. Elisha has been one of my heroes in the bible and this singular act through your power lord makes me adore him more and more. Those little children must learn to respect their elders. Lord i know you dont believe in canes or scolding, all i need from you is just the power to send those wild animals to eat and tear those little children to pieces. I know my prayers will be answered o kind and loving God!

3. O! Lord, i also have a special prayer request. I intend to go into the slavery business very soon. I hear there is a lot of money to be made by buying and selling slaves world wide especially through the border. Most people say slavery business is not godly and wicked lord, but lord, i know they are very ignorant about your words in the bible. They havent read their bibles enough to know that you the almighty God in the bible supports slavery with so much passion and intensity.

Just as it was written in , Ephesians 6:5 "Slaves, be obedient to those who are your earthly masters, with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as to Christ, ."

My God, i want my slaves to be obedient to me and not run away. I need them to make cool cash because you recognize the existence of slaves in the scheme of your creation.

Lord as , 1 Timothy 6:1 said:

"Let all who are under the yoke slavery regard their masters as worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and the teaching may not be defamed. How dare her lord disobey you. Since your words are holy and they are enshrined in the holy bible, i want you lord to send the holy ghost fire to burn that chick for attempting to contradict what you thought us in the bible. How dare she speak and preach in a church? Who is she to defile your holy and sensible words. Is She saying she is better than you or bigger than you? Lord i want you to deal with her seriously and all other women that speak or preach in churches. Only unintelligent and people with pea sized brains can believe such crock that a hell exists. The very notion of this concept poses a million questions that christian apologists cannot remotely answer talkless of defend in any rational or sensible manner whatsoever. A sampler of these questions goes thus:

1. Ok what is hell? Ans: A place where bad people or unbelievers go to if they dont believe the word of god, hmm, Well this might sound reasonable okay for a child under 7 to believe but as an adult, pssf, it poses some challenges e.g:

Where is that place located? After the clouds or under the seas? because  after 1000s of years of geological discoveries, nobody seems to have discovered hell.

Also, how do people go to hell? Do they take a bus, plane, float, okada

Also, its just plain biology or logic to know that after the human body dies, the body decomposses and the skeletons dry up and wither. Now what goes to hell? The decomposed body or what?

Most christians will argue here foolishly that it is your soul that goes to hell or heaven, but you still fall back to that question of what is a soul? What form or shape is it? Diametre, size, height and a host of questions. Does the soul float or what? Does it have human hair, eyes, teeth, buttocks, private parts etc or what? Does the soul wear clothes and what kind of clothes? 4,000 year old jewish swaddles and sandals or Gucci jeans and fendi tops? Is the soul naked or looks like an alien with 33 fingers and 4 heads with one huge eye ball?

Then wise christians would quickly jump to the aid of their drowning fellows and say, "It is your spirit that goes to hell"? and we go back to the age old question. What is a spirit? How does a spirit look like? Is it an obama reincarnation or hitler look alike? does a spirit piss or shit? How does the spirit function without its vital organs like a heart, kidney, liver and blood running through its veins? How can something that doesnt have biological tissues speak, touch or move?

Ok if you can remotely wiggle yourself from this embarassing dilema, then explain how does a spirit or soul that neither has any biological feature get burned especially for eternity and feel pain? It just like saying, the stone that is burning is actually crying out loud for it not to get burned?

3. Ok talking about burning, where does the fire come from? How does fire burn eternally without it quenching at some point. Thats why when i ever i hear such daft and moronic prayers like "Holy ghost fire burn him," i just sigh and wonder how an educated person could repeat such bulls**t over and over again. Is the holy spirit a fire spitting dragon or a member of the X-MEN named Pyro? Where does the fire emanate from? does he use charcoal, kerosine or fuel to burn or how else do you create fire and induce it to burn continously?

4. Talking about the so called fire, is there an NNPC mega station located in Hell that spews out fuel and kerosene continously to fan the embers of the spiritual fire or is that fuel also made for only spirits or souls?

5. How do you burn eternally? Is there a calendar of sort that says if you enter hell on the 23 of August 2008, you can check back in 2038 if the fire is still burning that single soul or spirit and proably check back in year 2674 to top the kerosene that has been added by the devil to burn you forever? I guess the rising cost of fuel world wide doesnt affect Hell

6. How does something or a soul or spirit burn forever and wail and gnash? When does hell start and when does it end for xtians to assume it would burn forever?

The only way to wiggle out of this log jam is to assume that it is human beings that get burned in hell since no rational explanation can be given to support the metaphors of souls or spirits getting burned.

Using human beings also provides more problems for a xtian apologist because the human body is filled with all kinds of micro organisms that make the human body survive both good and bad. Does that mean there would be millions of bacterias floating around hell for eternity?

Ok lets talk about the master of ceremony, the devil. Since he is the host of this great party, we have to know more about the guy or chick or transgendered or whatever. Does he just recieve your soul and throw you into hell and check on you every 350 years to see if the fire is still warm enough to carry that damned soul for another 400 years?

From the above, you can see how stupid such a concept called hell is. Apart from the fire branding pastors who will do anything to whip their congregation into line by threatening them with this hell crock so as to promote an emotional response and fear instead of pure reasoning, most xtians dont even know what hell is and if this seems true.

Another analogy to this sheer stupidity comes from this angle. If god rewards its people and followers by granting them all the goodness of heaven because the followers did his bidding, why shouldnt the devil reward his own followers by giving them the choiciest parts of his own kingdom. At least christians call satan the prince of darkness. Once a prince, ever a prince. That means he is rich and wealthy and he will definately reward his loyal subjects. If the devil actually inspires someone to embezzle and that person embezzles with such finesse and style, isnt he supposed to recieve a reward from the prince of darkness instead of punishment. Which good deeds go unrewarded? In fact christians should be more scared of hell than the people you have condemned as evil people.

How such arrant nonsense began to spread for centuries and intelligent people began to lose their senses over this nonsense called hell is extremely baffling.

For those looking for a real hell, you dont have to look much further than bagdad, afghanistan or back home Oshodi. Thats the real hell, not some imaginary dark cave with fire burning non living things for centuries?

One more thing, how does a spirit or soul feel pain when it no longer has the characteristics of a living thing to feel?
