THE AILING STATE OF THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM AND SUGGESTED RECOVERY DOSE.

By: AYUBA QUADRI

The importance of education cannot be overlook in our societies it's a required recipe and instrument for the growth and development of human race. Globally, education is consider as fundamental human right and equally enshrined in various international bodies laws.

There is no gain saying that the aforementioned "Education system" has been undergoing series of sickness which has subjected its values and nitty-gritty into long years of comatose.

The problem of educational development in the world not only in Nigeria is that of responsibility and control, the conflict between the Federal, State and Local Government in the management of education at various level is one of the prominent problem of educational development in Nigeria. Take for example, the control of primary education is neither fully in the hand of federal government, nor state or local government this a great barrier for effective educational development at basic level.

Education sector that ought to be the superstructure on which prosperity and massive developmental changes be built has been accord little or no political attentions by the leadership hitherto. The status quo of decadence and maladjustment still inhabit the educational sector. Our leaders have failed to realised that the gigantic progress of this country is attached to the development of minds through good and sound learning of the students who are going to be the leader of tomorrow and more so contributed the large numerical strength to the country. Now, if such students are not adequately furnished with sound and effective learning in school; the consequences would escalated to the would be generation and the progeny.

The underfunding of educational system is another cankerworm that has consistently marred the progress and accomplishment in the educational system. Despite, the recommendation of 26% of the budget of every countries to be allotted to education system as admonished by the UNESCO; the Nigeria govt has never yielded to such recommendation but has actually price down the importance of educational system. As a result of non alacrity and sincerity of the govt to fully promote the progress and development of Education sector:

Teeming number of youths have been thwarted to achieve their lofty aims through acquiring sound formal learning that will go a long way as a recipe in actualising such beautiful aims;

In the same token, there is widespread of laggard and subservient students who are deprived of educational facilities to equip themselves to be in per with their contemporaries in other climes of the world.

And again, As a result of impoverishment of Education sector this has led to " brain drain"; premised on the fact that the academia are not given emolument that commensurate with the service they are rendering. This also would be adverse effect on the students would will lack proper teaching from good academia.

Politicization of Education system; this is amongst the major problems that has been submerging the sustainability of good education system in Nigeria . This problem is characterized with cronyism"I know you" or "Padi Padi" which is unhealthy dose given to the system. The Political dictators in the system can give appointment to their cronies who are devoid of the capacity and knowledge required to run the affairs of the system; chain of events can give credence to the uneducated educator in the system that are manning various school systems. We have teachers in the primary schools and secondary school who cannot construct a simple sentence, how do will expect such teachers should shape the educational life's of those student under their tutelage. The foul play in the education system is gross. The politicization of education is done in order to avail some mischievous elements in the system to accord themselves unholy loyalty and political considerations.

It's a known fact that if the teachers are not well treated in terms salaries and allowances; they will not perform better in their areas. And this will bring sabotage to the students. Its quite saddened and disheartening that large amount of monies from the national pecuniary are accord to the Public office holders and the politicians vis-a-vis outrageous salaries, humongous allowances and uncalled for Estacada (travelling allowances). But the political elites has failed to realize the importance of adequate funding of the education system which proceed is mass based oriented and a monumental blessings for the nation.

In view of the Hitlerian type of administration coupled with neo fascism of school management which pervades virtually all tertiary institutions. The school management has become the tools of oppression to clampdown the right of their students; in all attempt to cow them into "political dummies".
They don't want their students to challenged the status quo which is corrupt ridden which has short changed the the Nigerian students.

The height of corruption in the system of tertiary institutions is another area of concern. Despite the underfunding of universities, the school authorities has continue to diverted the insufficient monies accrued to them through federal allocation and IGR to suit their own selfish interests while jeopardizing the futures of their students.

The highlighted problems mentioned are just few of the numerous problem that has been affecting the development of education system.

SUGGESTED RECOVERY DOSE:
* Adequate Teacher Education Training with adequate provision of resources with re-introducing of Teacher Colleges.
* Quality assurance in terms of class size, number of teachers and instructional materials.
* Proper governance of schools and implementation of Schools Management Committees (SMCs).
* Adequate budgetary provision (funding of educational sector).
* Employment of professional (qualified teaching staff)
* Empowerment approach to education.
* Provision of child friendly and teacher friendly school environment.
Review of school curricula for promoting relevant learning and extra curricula activities.
* Admission of students to schools base on merit not political ground.
* Special salary for teachers should be provided.
*Removal of undue influences from the govt.
*Provision of innovation and technological mechanism that will drive in immense growth

Politics / Sale Of National Assets: A Routine To Economic Havoc by zlatan10(m): 3:15pm On Sep 28, 2016
The purported motive of the Buhari Led government to dispose the national asset to industrialist and financier is nothing but a lucid betrayal of Sheer democracy and a sharp mockery on mass oriented governance. This is an attempt to economically decimate the populace.

Sale of assets should not be catholicon and panacea in restoring and revamping the deteriorated state of the economy. It can be duly pointed out that this sinister development would plague sinister socio- economy effects on the over 150millions Nigerians and equally subjected them to perpetual and untold hardship whilst enriching and consolidating the cashflow of the few elites who invariably shortchanged the workers of the capital who are the owner of the capital through expropriation of capitals and surplus value.

It's an overt fact that the capitalists have no good motives than to augment their own profits and equally snowball their wealth capacity against the erroneous political and socio -economy stance of them driving in growth and development into the nation's economy.
It should not be something of surprise and astonishment that the unrepentant rogues in the government clamouring for the sales of nations assets are those who will be the bidder and prospective buyers using spurious names to clandestinely purchase our collective national assets.

The today's regiment has clearly shown to all and Sundry that it lacks the political savvy to sail this nation to its glorious destination. Ranging from The charlatans "ministers" who are not politically fit; the frivolous spending on globetrotting of Mr.President which has no accomplishment but clear wastage of National patrimony.

The purported sinister sale of national assets will make nonense of small scale enterprise in Nigeria and stripped them off economy relevance; by giving the "Economy Mightiers" and "financier" (large scale enterprise) to take full fledge economy advantage to determine and dictate the fate and destiny of over 150millions Nigerians.

Reckoning and beckoning on the past disposal of nation assets like PHCN, NITEL and some notable national asset one is left with no other choice that to come to term with the fact that it has only been bane and derivation of misery to the populace. Economic saboteurs enriched themselves at the detriment of the financially battered citizens through the mischievous sales of the nations assets.
I see no reason why a responsible government will wake up one day and believe the right path to economic liberation is to pursue neo-liberal policies and sheer racket policies. Which are the economic advices of the IMF to African governments in other to intelligently impose their economy hegemony and imperialism on Africans.

With great alacrity and intense feelings of patriotism couple with vehement nationhood all Nigerians must revolt and defiant any attempt by the Federal Government to sell the nation asset which will all know that the past sales of some of our National Asset is nothing to show for but a mere rogue attempt to enrich the few elites who have succeeded using satanic and sinister capitalistic ventures to stripped off financially battered citizens of their economic right and equally stripped off their social welfare.

PANACEA; the humongous and "pocket tearing" salaries and outrageous allowances of the top echelon of the executives should be downwardly reviewed; democratic governance is about self service and nations loyalty not to drain the nation pecuniary to the state of comatose.

The unjustified gigantic salaries and outrageous emolument of the legislature arm also should be review and slash down.

The money GMB restituted from the stolen loot of our national patrimony should equally be pumped in gearing tangible progress that will cut across facets of the state.

Moreso, the overcentralized power of the central government should be decentralized in other to give ample chances and sheer autonomy to the component regions in other to pursue meaningful development.

I believe, we need home grown solution and intrinsically controlled economy by the govt; what we need is political will and alacrity from the government to metamorphose the deteriorated state of economy into mass oriented economy rather than leaving it in the hands of economy predators who are opportunists.

God bless Nigeria!

Credit must go to Ibrahimovic for his perfoemance today,he was the main player creating chances in the midfield in the 2nd half.
In my opinion he is helping Rashford alot by dropping deep organising play taking the ball forward and creating great chances for the team, even if he didn't score Zlatan is my man of the match

BAKAYOKO: MONACO CAN CHALLENGE PSG... THEY DON'T HAVE ZLATAN NOW!

The 22-year-old midfielder believes Ibrahimovic's exit to Man Utd makes the Ligue 1 holders a less formidable force, while he is also hoping to shine in the Champions League
Young Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko has set his sights on toppling Paris Saint-Germain in the current season, and sees no reason why his side cannot fight for the title.
PSG have won four consecutive Ligue 1 crowns since Qatar Sports Investments' takeover in 2012 made the capital club one of the richest teams in the world.
Stars like Zlatan Ibrahimovic have helped them to the most successful spell in their history, but Bakayoko believes the exit of the striker makes PSG more vulnerable.
"This season, I hope we finish in the top two. There is the duel with Lyon, but I think this year we can get closer to PSG," he explained to Goal.
"Without Ibra, perhaps this is not the same team. While Cavani is one of the best strikers in the world, I think rivals are more confident and are convinced they can win.
"When Ibra is there, you know that it will be difficult, that you must not leave a single centimetre."
The 22-year-old midfielder enjoyed a fine season with Monaco in 2015-16, helping the principality club reach the Champions League.
Bakayoko hopes his team go far in the European competition, and cannot help but dream of fighting in the final stages.
"It would be nice to qualify for the first stage. After that, it would be good to go to at least the quarter-finals," he said.
"I'm 22 and it's time to show what I can do. I really aim to bring big performances in this competition as Bernardo [Silva], Yannick [Ferreira Carrasco], Geoffrey [Kondogbia] or others were able to do two years ago."
The youngster is also thinking ahead to a possible France call-up, although he is determined to keep working hard to earn a place with Les Bleus.
"I'm a player that does not get talked about much, although that could change this time. I do not think the gap is so big to get there," he affirmed.
"I must continue to work, to play well and there is no reason that one day I won't receive the call."
