Gamers and football fans can expect a raft of new features from the new release


Football Manager 2017 is here- and addicted gamers are gearing up for many a lost evening playing the simulation favourite.

Aston Villa, Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion fans will be looking to spearhead their club to glory after the game drops on November 4.

The game's makers Sports Interactive have announced a whole host of new features for this year's version, which include a social media feed, customised manager avatar and enhanced match graphics.




Football Manager supremo Miles Jacobson released a video last month detailing a comprehensive rundown of the game's new features.


But what can we expect?

New camera angle
The behind goal low camera angle gets you up-close and personal to all the goalmouth action.

You can see the trajectory of the ball as it flies into the back of the net, and get a good view of how your team is maintaining its shape.

1500 new motion-captured elements

Goalkeepers are now capable of pulling off spectacular saves, and players head and shoot in a much more intuitive manner, taking into account the flight of the ball better than ever before.

Magic spray

Whenever there is a free-kick in a dangerous position, the referee will mark out where the ball - and wall - must be placed. Just like across all of Europe's most prevalent leagues.

Pre-match presentation


Players will emerge from the tunnel and line up for the pre-match handshakes before going through their final warm-ups before kick-off.

Law changes implemented

The new kick-off, where one player can start the game by himself, is one of a host of rule changes which have been implemented for FM17.

A player injured by a carded offence can be treated on the pitch, and a foul by the last man denying a goalscoring opportunity will not bring an automatic red card.

AI enhancements


Artificial intelligence enhancements include the number of decisions a player makes per second almost doubling.

Players are more aware of the situation they are in which leads to more split-second decisions, particularly in goal-scoring opportunities.

A fight between rival gangs in a Brazilian prison has left 56 people dead and officials hunting an unknown number of inmates that escaped during the bloody confrontation.
Authorities said the riot grew out of a fight between two of the country's biggest crime gangs over control of prisons and drug routes in northern Brazil.

Amazonas authorities initially reported 60 dead in the Anisio Jobim Penitentiary Complex in Manaus, but later the state public security secretary's office reduced that figure to 56.

Officials also said 112 inmates escaped during the riot.
There were 1,224 inmates in the prison, which was built to hold 592, Amazonas state public security's office said.

The prison is run by a private company that is paid according to the number of inmates.
Twelve prison guards were held hostage by the inmates, though none was wounded during the riot that began on Sunday afternoon and ended on Monday morning.

A minivan and a pickup truck both packed with passengers collided in eastern Thailand Monday, killing 25 people in a harrowing reminder of the country's notoriously dangerous roads.

Police said the minivan driver lost control and ploughed through a central reservation into oncoming traffic in the eastern province of Chonburi. Both vehicles burst into flames.

"Twenty-five people were killed in the road accident," Police Lieutenant Colonel Wiroj Jamjamras at Ban Bueng provincial police station told AFP, adding two toddlers were among the dead.

"The victims were killed by fire or the impact," he added.

Wiroj said 15 people were inside the minivan while 12 passengers were packed into the pickup truck.

Two were injured but are expected to survive, he added.

Footage broadcast on Channel 3 showed firefighters tackling the burning, twisted wreckage of the two vehicles.

Despite relatively good infrastructure, Thailand has the world's second most dangerous roads in terms of per capita deaths, according to data collected by the World Health Organization in a 2015 report.

Fatalities tend to rise in the New Year week and during Songkran, a religious festival in April, when millions of low-paid workers return to the countryside from their city jobs to see family.

Both weeks are dubbed the "Seven Deadly Days" in Thai media, with the government keeping a daily death tally during those two periods to try to encourage better road safety.
