His Excellency October 3, 2017 Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, GCON, SAN Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria State House Abuja. Your Excellency Sir, LETTER OF APPEAL First, please accept my heartfelt apology that I have to bother you with this letter, realising how busy you are. My name is Matthew Irheren, a Master’s degree holder (2009) in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London. I had earlier obtained a Bachelor’s degree from University of Benin, Benin-City in 2004 I was a beneficiary of the highly competitive Petroleum Trust Development Fund (PTDF) full scholarship scheme for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. On completion of my postgraduate study, I returned home immediately against the wishes of my parents, as I felt and still feel the need to contribute to the development of our dear country. It is, however, very sad that I have not been gainfully employed to put the skills I acquired to use, since 2009 when I completed my studies and returned to the country. Your Excellency Sir, the situation is indeed painful when I think of the amount of tax-payer’s money spent in sponsoring me for the Masters programme. During my study at Imperial College, I had fellow students on similar scholarship from other parts of the world, but the PTDF scholarship scheme stood out as the best in terms of financial worth. I am therefore wondering why our government spent such huge sums on scholars without integrating them into its workforce to derive some benefits from the investment. This was not the case with fellow students from other parts of the world who had jobs waiting for them on completion of their studies. Consequently, I write to respectfully request that you use your good office to look at the setup of the PTDF scholarship scheme and see how beneficiaries of the scheme like me, would be employed, even if for a fixed term. This way, resources expended on us will not be a complete waste to the country. Please accept the assurances of my highest regards, Yours faithfully, |

Where do I start from? I am a master's degree holder from one of the best schools in the world. I had a second class Upper in my first degree and got a scholarship to study abroad. I decided to go for my masters since a job was not forthcoming after my first degree. I thought studying abroad was the needed change and things would turn around. How wrong I was as no job came forth. I actually got an underemployed job in an oil and gas servicing company, worked for two years and was disengaged because of the drop in the oil price which affected a lot of oil and gas majors. I worked last in 2015 and still searching for a job. Kindly help if you have the opportunity to do so. thanks |
I run a supermarket. No light in the area and operate the generator only at night. Of what benefit will the Pos be to me without light. Also I sometimes sell at discounted prices different from the fixed price. Can the software capture that. |
