The Police boss evidently felt insulted at my cousin’s audacity. (Who una dey give this palansa money) he yelled which means who are you giving this cheap money to. You have no respect. In fact, I will lock you up. He instructed another officer to enter our car while another to jack the cousin who handed over the N700 to him into their police car and clearly said. (since una no wan pay for here jeje, una go pay over double for station) which means since you don’t want to comply in good faith, then you must as well get ready to dance to the pie…

As my cousins were not having it anymore as one of them came down from the car and handed N700 to them which is 2US dollars because in this part of the world literally everything boils down to money.

As the driver of the vehicle, I came out from it and began to low key negotiate with the officers while my cousins remained in the car. Them coming out especially the one from the U.S won’t help our situation because he has a foreign accent and by implication these officers might think we have lots of money and raise their demands, something I clearly didn’t want.
When I look back at that experience, I think I said sorry over a million times, much more than what the most dreaded criminal on earth would have said but these children of darkness were undeterred. Instead they went straight to the point “you young men broke the law but because you are my children just pay us what is due and you can as well leave, a win win.” All these were said in pidgin English anyway which a lot of readers might not understand so better the translated version although I must admit in pidgin English it’s more fun ha-ha.
That aside, we ended up talking to their “staged” boss who with all openness said “you guys should simply give us some funds to look the other way, you are not the only client we are expecting” Client? Please am not in Harvard university or a Clinton I said aloud. The matter was way worse because we were in an expensive neighborhood and by that our bribing game must command good money which made me weak. Who sent me message I cried internally. Dear Isil, I think I could need some help now I joked. The police men laughed and said (after you don make us laugh finish you go put hand inside pocket commot money) which means after your comic relieve, you bring out money and hand it to us. These are the type of people that have special seats in hell.

Oh shit we realized that when some police men stopped right in front of us accusing us of taking one way. What? This must be a joke I said, the same guys whose vehicle just took this road moment ago are accusing me of committing a crime, accusing us of committing a crime. Wonderful. If for anything, we were encouraged to “commit a crime” by their actions. Besides not in a thousand years will I know that was a One Way route.
Anyway these folks weren’t having it so we parked at the side of the road with their close supervision of course. Then a police man who looked somewhat in his fifties or sixties but actually could be in his forties came towards us and with a very hilarious accent that got us laughing he said “Children, my children how una dey which is a native slang for how are you in Nigeria, it’s nice to meet you. You know where you passed is one way bla bla bla” Fully aware of our situation and the fact we didn’t want to waste time on them we were like okay o. We are sorry we only followed your footsteps after all “the police is my friend right” The man laughed and said ehhh (e fit be, e fit no be na you fit make am happen) which in English means perhaps, perhaps not, your compliance will determine.
Anyway because the Police man or men were very much alive with us in the conversation, we resulted to indirect begging. I observed further and realised that they were four looking evidently hungry officers in the vicinity apparently rejoicing in their mind just how big a fish they must have caught, “It must be all their community members that are fishes” I replied my thought. As I expressed my thought to my cousins using a language the police men clearly didn’t understand, we knew there was going to be need for financial retribution.

Well because I have very crazy cousins you can as well expect a lot of drama. At some point because the car was a convertible, we opened the roof so we can take as much pictures as we liked easily also to open ourselves to potential hook-ups. (well my cousins like to think Nigeria is as wild as the U.S). While driving, we saw a police vehicle headed straight so we felt damn that lane is free, we should take that too only for us to walk straight into the lion’s den.

Apparently we were on the Island then. We continued our tour from Four Point by Sheraton, into Lekki proper, which is quite a rich residential part of Lagos Nigeria, then head to Eko hotel. Apparently we had the Car, the vibe, the devices, the time and the money to throw around during our adventure like buy stuffs to make it all fun you know but Little did we know we were up for a deeper adventure.
During the course of our navigation, it was fun and mind blowing.

Politics / Things To Do During The Governorship Elections by Zubelu11: 9:09am On Mar 09, 2019
We know the Nigerian Governorship Elections are upon us. As the Elections holds today, we want to enlighten you on the things you must do during the election and also for your safety.

1. First and foremost if you have a Pvc, you should get up and vote. Its important you do that because your vote is your power and by voting you help make it difficult for the elections to be rigged.

2. Its best not to wear any party or candidate’s shirt in other to avoid violence and possible attack from people loyal to other parties and candidates outside yours.

3. It safely would be safe if you don’t inform anyone on whom you would love to vote as Governor. This is for your own safety.

4 Elections isn't the time to come and slay, nobody is sending you.

5.Try as much as you can to eat something before going because it would most probably be either a long day or a considerable wait and its best to not be fighting the sun, the headache that comes from an election and also your stomach.

Events / Women Arising As We Celebrate Women’s International Day by Zubelu11: 11:03am On Mar 08, 2019
Happy Women’s Day. Women On The World Stage.

For so long women have been told not to shine, at least not too much. They can be hard working but there’s a limit to their success. That they are not capable of pulling big strings. That they end up in the kitchen and the totality of their existence evolves around marriage, having kids and raising kids.

They have been subjected to give up their dreams and aspirations in the name of submissiveness. It’s not like women are not dexterous enough to multi task and achieve all these together, but it’s a societal phenomena that aims to make women conform.

I am excited. Women arising. Women are breathing such limitations. Women are conquering, showing the world they have just as much to offer to the world than the world knows it.

Their unbelievable zeal and determination in the future carries weight like no other. The leadership women bring to the world alongside the record shattering ceilings accomplishments across the world makes me more proud.

It is with such pride and confidence that I say it. From all of us at Zubelu.com We wish you a Happy International Women’s Day.

Thank you for constantly challenging the existing structures and limitations. Destroying hindrances to their very stem and core. We are excited because of all these, younger girls are more hopeful for the future. In their drive, their dreams, aspirations and their unbelievable determination to succeed.

Career / The Importance Of Having A Plan B by Zubelu11: 8:00am On Mar 08, 2019
https://zubelu.com/blog/is-having-a-plan-b-important-2/

As a young student back in secondary school, things were different. I used to think getting admission into the university, studying your most preferred course and getting that degree guaranteed success in life. But reality dawned on me from my Waec result. I wanted to study law but unfortunately for me, I did not have literature in Waec. That was the beginning.
Well I passed my jamb. I was offered history and strategic studies which I had no interest in. Well I still went ahead with the registration. Lucky for me, I wasn’t qualified for the course due to my lack of literature. Thank God I had connections, I was able to pull some strings. My course was changed to social work; a course I knew not till that very day I got to my registration point.

I thought to myself, it wouldn’t be the worst idea ever. Perhaps because of the fear of staying at home for a whole year to retake o’levels, I went ahead with the admission I got into 100L. I was not totally happy about it because I was far away from what I wanted. I read about the course and it was not so bad. It was something I could see myself doing but for lack of interest, I was not taking the course so seriously. Not to talk about the course was not so recognized in Nigeria. I knew I had a long way to go and amongst my colleagues I was fond of, even called LAWMA WORKER.

This continued till I got to year 2 and my GP was dropping I knew I had to buckle up, face my reality and embrace it. I started working hard academically and pulling up my grades. Finally, I got interested in the course after 300l 1st semester field work practice, I loved it so much. I wanted to put in all my best but unlucky for me, it was too late but I still tried my best to get my grades up.

Before graduation, different thoughts were running through my mind. Especially the fact that most of the agencies we were posted for our fieldwork practice in 300 and 400l did not have professional social workers. That is their workers did not study social work as their 1st degree or 2nd degree. It was too sad and painful. With that, I had a lot of hope that things would get well once we are out of school.

it has not been rosy for me. Coupled with the fact that I did not acquire any skill through my university and service year. Also especially still wanting to practice social work in a country where it is not appreciated and recognized. Before NYSC, I volunteered at the Office of the Public Defender as a social worker for 6 months where I gained a lot of 1st hand experience. After my service year, I volunteered at the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team for few months.

A lot of my colleagues that we studied social work together in University of Lagos have changed their careers not because they do not want to practice but because there is not much of an opportunity for us out there. Furthermore, these days, a lot of people study on thing in the university and end up working in another line because they just want to earn a living and be able to pay their bills.

Personally one thing I regret is not acquiring a skill and I’m not even an entrepreneur oriented person. I’m the 9-5 kind of person and several times I have asked myself if there is any problem with me. It turns out there is nothing wrong with me.

I encourage student these days that from secondary school, they should start learning one skill or the other. The world is shifting from getting a university degree or having a master’s degree. It would go a long way to earning your financial independence and having a plan B.
As long as you keep pursing, there’s always a way for you.

Culture / What Happens When Money Enters by Zubelu11: 6:53pm On Mar 07, 2019
https://zubelu.com/blog/man-narrates-what-happens-when-money-enters/

WHEN MONEY ENTERS.

You know If You really ask guys of nowadays what drives them to make money, majority will tell you Respect, To Show Off, To Get the Girls, Unlimited Partying, A Life of EXTRAVAGANT LUXURY AND FLEXING Life Like they all It. But to be honest, it’s Just Far Fetched. I’ve always fancied a life of solitude and simple comfort.

People will say NA LIE YOU WEY NO KNOW WETIN BE SUFFER. Truth Is If I Tell You My Story, You Will Weep.

Living A life of partying and absolute extravagance will attract the wrong crowd, those that’ll only be around you for the benefits, temporary people. But when you’re there for those in real need, you attract blessings. Never underestimate the prayers of a sincere person, it goes a long way.

The Heavens smile on you and your oil never runs dry. In My Own Opinion I see being well to do as an avenue for me to live a life of comfort, taking very good care of my family and helping people in serious need, because I know what it is to be bottom of the survival chain.

My Advice to Everyone That Has It;
Invest
Be Humble
Take Good Care of Your Family
Help Those in Need
And Always Put God First.

REAL MADRID’S VINICIUS JNR RULED OUT FOR TWO MONTHS

Real Madrid’s miserable week has become even worse with news that Vinicius Junior will be out for two months with a torn ligament.

The Brazilian teenage sensation was in tears on Tuesday night as he hobbled off with the injury in the first half of the 4-1 defeat to Ajax in the Champions League.

“After the tests made today to our player Vinicius Junior by the medical services of Real Madrid, the player has been diagnosed with a torn ligament of the tibiofibular joint of the right leg,” read a club statement.

18-year-old Vinicius has made 28 first-team appearances for Los Blancos since his €45m summer move from Flamengo, netting four goals.

The teenager had earned his first Brazil call-up for the upcoming friendly matches against Czech Republic and Panama, but will have to withdraw from the Seleçao.

Romance / Man Narrates How He Has Been Sleeping With His Best Friend. by Zubelu11: 12:28pm On Mar 05, 2019
Continuation of having a LovePeddler for a best friend https://zubelu.com/blog/having-a-hoe-for/ and The Hoe On The Move: https://zubelu.com/blog/the-hoe-life-on-the-move/

Oh shit, I said aloud just as I felt her warmness courtesy of being in the midst of her being. I have slept with a lot of women I won’t lie but there was something different about this sex with Linda that made it rank highly among my best sexual encounters. In other to avoid turning you on by this and risk making a lot of you masturbate, I will skip the whole details about the sexual encounter. Especially for those who can’t lay their hands on a girl or a boy. If you must know however, it was mind blowing. Like “what in the world” so sex can be even better? I thought I had seen it all. We ended up literally using the whole house. Bedroom, the ground, the bathroom, couch, kitchen, dining and hell yeah she’s a ride hard kinda girl, the styles were on point. Oh shit I promised not to tell you guys.

After the whole sexacade, we carried on being friends. In fact good friends at that and yes bleeped a few more times. When our friendship grew even tighter unfortunately us being Bleep buddies mysteriously took a back seat.

For three years we enjoyed remarkable friendship. We literally supported and complimented each other in various ways yet there was a monster I failed to discover. Sometimes I ask myself how on earth did I fail to discover that. I mean three years isn’t three days or three months you know. She successfully hid her “Alter Ego” from me, at least in ways I knew not exist. She was both into hard drugs and in ways you might not imagine a sex addict. I mean the in Nigerian vibe (you go Bleep Bleep so tey you go taya cum like five times self-Linda go still dey request extra round. Omo you go fear sex machine. Kilodee)

Linda has an advantage I noticed. Her vagina was able to adapt to any kind of situation and by situation I meant dicks. Example if you had a small dick, her pussy would compress so much and be so tight you would think your fucking a virgin. Well or at least an amateur because her pussy was always tight. I mean the way a lot of guys would like it. Likewise, if she took a medium, big or monster dick. Her pussy would expand just enough to clip your dick so much, giving you the satisfaction you need and also giving you the “this girl doesn’t Bleep around vibe” I mean her pussy is tight yeah. This people of the internet, was part of her greatest weapon in her camouflage.

Somehow I expected she would tell me about her vices. I mean we have been tight friends for three years plus and we tell each other things, secrets, things I haven’t even told family or close friends and somehow that knowledge made me felt indifferent.

Something happened that made me move to another city for a while. Although even with my distance we maintained tight friendship. I admit we have our ups and downs but we still managed to stay together as best friends. I mean I always flew down to catch up with her and other friends of mine at times.

Although I go out at night a few times, am not a late night type of guy. In pure contradiction, when the night arrives is more like Linda’s day got fully on the way. I didn’t hang out with her often at night so most times I had no idea what her life after 9pm looks like. I call of course but more often than not she brings up this attitude of “I will call you back handsome”. I must note that at this phrase, I had no idea about her vices but you know now, I gave her space as well.

During my stay in Lagos whenever I came, I did more of the visitation than her on still the day I came to her house and saw five guys. Mehn am toned with some muscules and all that but these five guys look more like buildings than actually human beings. These guys weren’t sitting down or watching television, they were all naked, fucking Linda, my “best friend”. All happening in her master bedroom that was left wide open. What in the world I thought, five buildings on one pussy. These guys’ self should know better that too much guys and one girl doesn’t add spice I thought briefly. Anyway since no one noticed my presence, I decided to leave which was a good thing. As I gently closed the door of the sitting room, I made my way to the car, then I saw a guy. This guy who was right outside the window where the whole action was taking place was masturbating in broad day light in a compound that only him didn’t share. Then I realized even her moans work wonders on people….

TO BE CONTINUED….

Written for Linda.

Career / Benefits Of A Great Saving Culture. by Zubelu11: 8:37pm On Mar 02, 2019
First things first, having a great saving culture has benefits.
As a young boy I had so many ‘wants’ but my mom could only provide my needs. Don’t get me wrong, I never lacked anything but I wanted so many things like games, big phones, expensive shoes etc but then my mom being a single parent was not bothered about all that as long as I had clothing, shelter, food and going to school that was all for her.
How am I going to get all these luxury things I wanted? Ask my uncles and aunties? My grandma? Well, my uncles always promised to buy things I believed because I knew they could but you know what they never did and they kept on promising and I kept on believing, stupid me right?
My grandma always did her best for me and I am forever grateful but still not the things I wanted. When I entered secondary school, the wants grow the more. I kept managing myself till I realized I should stop expecting things from people. Then developed a saving culture. Out of my little allowance I was collecting daily from my mom, I was putting about 75% of it away. It started as a joke till I got so serious but the bad idea is I was saving the money with my mom and you know how that would go, when it was time for me to collect my money I started hearing stories and I couldn’t collect my complete money but I still continued to save but this time I saved it by myself.
Before she says “I carried you for nine months, did you pay me back”.
When I entered senior secondary school, my daily allowance increased so did my daily savings. It got to a time I was addicted to saving more. It helped control my spending habits because the money was with me throughout and I didn’t spend it. Through my savings I was able to buy myself my 1st blackberry phone that was back in ss2 (2011) and you know how expensive blackberry was. Even after buying the phone I continued saving, it became a part of me and I just could not stop. Through my savings I bought myself different things and anything I liked.
On my admission into 100L things were hard for me for a while and I could not save which was killing me badly. After a while, I started again little by little but I did not have anything I wanted to buy. I was just saving for the fun of it hoping I’d want to buy something. I even paid for school stuffs before my mom would refund the money back. It got to a point my mom was so confident in me that I always have money on me so she was not bothered. All she would say is buy it or pay for it I would pay your money back later. When I got to 400L I needed a laptop to start my project but mom was not forthcoming with the money. So I started weekly contributions with my friend (1000 every 5 days and 1500 every week) it was not easy but I had to do it.
Spending money became a though thing for me to do, I have to always think it through if it’s worth it or not.
I’m not saying there are times that I didn’t spend recklessly oh yeah! I did because I can’t come and kill myself. Even during my service year as small as allawee was, I was still able to save up a lot of money initially It was not easy because I had to adjust to the life there and cutting down on a lot of excesses, at the end of the day I saved more than I expected and I got used to the new lifestyle.
After all said, one of the few habits I cultivated on my own, saving culture is one the best habit I cultivated till today they trust me at home on that. I do not spend money lavishly and even when I claim I am broke they know deep down that I am not.
Steps in cultivated a good saving culture
– Be determined
– Have self-control
– Set a target and given time.

Through my savings I was able to buy myself my 1st blackberry phone that was back in ss2 (2011) and you know how expensive blackberry was. lalasticlala and maynd44

Romance / The Stranger That Touched My Heart by Zubelu11: 1:20pm On Mar 02, 2019
Four years ago, I finished high school. I wrote SSCE that same year but my result was seized. Certainly, I was devastated. I wrote another the following year it was cancelled. I was kind of hurt and all but I never gave up. I wrote another 2016 then I came out with flying colors.

The struggle did not end there as I started battling with gaining admission…

2016 I gained admission into Lagos state university then I was jilted. I gave my school fees to someone who duped me and when I discovered it was too late. Too late for me as I had to withdraw from the school and write another jamb. This loss sank so deep in my heart I cannot explain just how devastated I was. The struggle went on, imagine not been admitted especially in a society like the Nigerian society where pressures and shame from left and right kept attacking me. I was emotionally unstable, these were experience of what misery felt and I cannot just believe I was subjected to such torture.

Then I had this boyfriend. This boyfriend I started dating when I left high school. He toyed with my emotions. As a young girl I was naïve, felt stabbed me in the back, Sabotaged by life etc. I lived with the too many pains for years. The annoying thing was I still didn’t want to leave him. I was madly in love with him and the love came with great consequences.

I was stupid right?? Yes, I was!!! lalasticlala and maynd44

Family / Benefits Of Having A Great Saving Culture by Zubelu11: 3:30pm On Mar 01, 2019

Politics / What The Nigerian Elections Teaches Us All by Zubelu11: 6:20am On Feb 27, 2019
LESSONS TO BE LEARNT FROM THE NIGERIAN ELECTIONS.

The Nigerian Presidential Elections has just been announced and it saw President Buhari the candidate of the All Progressive Party consolidate his grip on power. No matter what happened especially if the results didn’t swing your way, there are lessons to be learnt.

1. Security was clearly not the best. In fact, at some polling units there were no security officials. Also in some units, police officers eventually fled once violence or ballot snatchers came on board.

2. Nigerians are getting more involved as they realise their future and to an extent their ability to prosper depends on a good government that’s about to work and deliver for the people.

3. Nigerians are realizing more than ever before the power of the ballot box. You need to understand that only your vote counts not your rants on social media or getting massive engagements on twitter. This things work only by voting, that’s what INEC recognizes. Nothing more nothing less.

4. The Nigerian spirit can’t be killed no matter the tyrant or violence we face. We have an unwavering determination to succeed. Although it is sickening that such determination were not reflected in voter turn out in ways that were evident on social media.

More importantly, if you feel the system is failing you, gather yourself together and run for an electoral office.

Politics / Buhari Wins Presidential Elections by Zubelu11: 4:45am On Feb 27, 2019
President Buhari of the All Progressive Party has won the Nigerian presidential elections with over 15million votes against his closest and main opponent Atiku Abubakar, candidates of the PDP who got over 11million votes. That leaves a margin win of at least over 3million votes.

The Presidential elections which was scheduled for the 16th of Feburary was later moved to the 23th of February due to some technical issues. Although the elections as expected was characterized with some violence and irregularities, it wasn’t enough to stop the victory of the incumbent.
It would be recalled that four years ago president Buhari defeated the then incumbent Nigerian President Goodluck jonathan to become the Nigeria President.

This has heavy consequences for the Nigerian people as it leave way more than expected anxious over what happens in a country which has seen tremendous changes only negatively mostly.

Sports / Chelsea Fine Kepa Arrizabalaga For Carabao Cup Final Meltdown by Zubelu11: 8:06pm On Feb 26, 2019
Chelsea keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been fined one week’s wages for his refusal to be substituted during the club’s Carabao Cup final loss to Manchester City, Chelsea have confirmed.

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri was left enraged on the Wembley touchline when the goalkeeper, having received treatment twice on the pitch during extra time, angrily waved away the Italian’s attempt to substitute him with Willy Caballero.

Both men played down the incident as a big “misunderstanding” after the match, but in a follow-up statement on the club’s website Kepa admitted he made “a big mistake” by going against Sarri’s wishes and added that he will accept every punishment he’s given.

“I was very happy to play in my first cup final for Chelsea yesterday and very proud of the team performance,” the Spaniard said. “I have thought a lot more about yesterday’s events. Although there was a misunderstanding, on reflection, I made a big mistake with how I handled the situation.

“I wanted to take the time today to apologise fully and in person to the coach, to Willy, my teammates and to the club. I have done this and now I want to offer the same apology to the fans. I will learn from this episode and will accept any punishment or discipline the club decides is appropriate.”

Kepa is expected to keep his place in Chelsea’s starting XI for the visit of Tottenham to Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Wednesday according to sources, and Sarri was keen to draw a line under the episode.

Politics / How Politics Changed Us All. by Zubelu11: 11:54am On Feb 24, 2019
HOW POLITICS CHANGE THE PEOPLE WE KNOW.

Politics as indeed changed the way we think, feel and present ourselves to a large extent as Nigerians.

Am not really clear on how politics in other countries work, but the Focus is on Nigeria in this write up. I hated politics while growing up certainly not because of the conventional wisdom widely propagated by many Christians on how genuine Christians shouldn’t go into politics♂. The reason I disliked it was the reality that a very large proportion of politicians are in for their pockets irrespective of whatever silly promises they would have made to the electorates and all (like theft and greed was their thing before they even ventured into politics). However, I feel ashamed to say I realized late how it even changes people we believed were upholders of good morals and mindset. Let’s look at the following people

1. Adams Oshomole was one I read about his time as the chairman of Nigeria Labor Congress and how it was said that he fought the government for the interest of workers or generally the people thereby winning their hearts (notice how I use the words “read” and “said” because I was a little boy uninterested in National affairs during the period Oshomole held the post so I couldn’t write knew/witnessed him to be that person)

2. Buhari. Full article here https://zubelu.com/blog/how-politics-changed-us-all/

Education / Student Cries Out After Encountering A Lecturer And Her Frustration by Zubelu11: 9:15am On Feb 24, 2019
Oh that day. That day started very early. I woke up, played music for a while then I went to bath. I got dressed and left the house for today’s Hustle. On getting to school, I ran into my Head of Department, a woman that’s all out to get me. How will someone just decide to be a witch? I don’t know why people pick on me. There and then, my mood had already changed after the whole talk. I learnt that she had fixed a compulsory lecture for the class tomorrow. Tuesday (Holy Ghost fire pursue them, wherever demons are gathered Holy Ghost fire pursue them).

I was annoyed and wondering why she’d do something like this knowing well the situation of things between ASUU and the Federal government since there was an ongoing strike in Nigeria. Little did I know that my problems were just starting

School is a bitch sometimes. I had (Phonetics and Phonology) class for 2 hours after that I was pained. Imagine the nonsense, I even left before the class ended that was how angry I was. Waste of resources, time etc. The class was a bore. This lecturer has always been looking at me with this sexy face, the i don't mind if we sleep together look and for a while my guys have been gingering me to get the motion kicking. I won't lie she got a great body not all those elderly women, this lecturer is young and attractive.

Sports / Messi Hat-trick Saves The Day For Barcelona. "The Best"? by Zubelu11: 8:21am On Feb 24, 2019
MESSI HAT-TRICK SAVES THE DAY FOR BARCELONA.

Lionel Messi scored what was the 50th hat-trick of his career as the Catalan side came from behind to beat Sevilla and go 10 points clear at the top of La Liga.

In an exceptional display from the Catalans’ captain, he first equalized with a beautiful volley from 16 yards after Jesus Navas had given Sevilla the lead.

He leveled for a second time with a superb curling shot from the edge of the box.

Messi then chipped Sevilla keeper Tomas Vaclik for his third, his 36th goal in 35 games against Sevilla, before setting up Luis Suarez for an injury-time fourth.
