AFCON 2013 - Super Eagles Team by Jarus(m): 8:39am On Oct 17, 2012 |
On paper, after CIV, I think Nigeria has the second biggest individual talent at the moment. Ghana and Mali also have quality players. The 23 men I want to see at Nations Cup 2013 GK 1, Enyeama 2, Agbim Defenders 3, Yobo 4, Efe Ambrose 5, Echiejile 6, Taiye Taiwo 7, Oboabona ( abi wetin be the guy's name) 8, xxxxxxx Midfield 9, Mikel 10,Nosa Igiebor 11, Obiorah 12, Gabriel Reuben (if he recovers before NC) 13, Onazi 14, xxxxxx Forward 15, Musa 16, Emenike 17, IK Uche 18, Ejike 19, Martins 20, Ideye 21, Kalu Uche 22, Moses 23, Osaze (not exactlt sure we need him) |
Re: AFCON 2013 - Super Eagles Team by Jarus(m): 9:00am On Oct 17, 2012 |
I think we have surplus options up front, especially on the wings. Our centre forward (9) remain Ideye, Emenike and Martins. I have some confidence in the three of them. I believe Emenike is a good 9, we only have to be patient with him. Other forwards we have are either wingers or supporting strikers. The first 11 I want to see; 4-3-3 ---------------------Enyeama--------------------------------- Echiejine----------Yobo-------------Ambrose-------------Taiwo -------------------------Obiorah--------------------------- -------------Igiebor------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------Mikel------------------------ Uche-----------------------------------------------------Moses ----------------------------Emenike---------------------------------- Then 2nd half, Martins to come in for Emenike and Musa to replace either Moses or Uche (depending on who is having a better game). If Emenike doesn't deliver, we start Ideye next match and replace with Martins in second half as usual. If our midfield is not doing up to expectation, we switch to 4-4-2,replace the main culprit with Onazi, bring in Kalu Uche to further fortify the midfield(Mikel falls back, Uche goes to 10 position), sacrifice the wingers, and use Uche - Moses upfront. 2 Likes |

What then do you want CIV to say? Drogba, Kalou, Yaya Toure, Kolo Toure, Tiote, Gervinho etc Well, apart from Kwadoe Asamoah, Painstil, Muntari and Dede Ayew, others are less known average players. |

I'm still on the fence with our goalkeeping capability but at least the attack and defence is good enough. should get us to the semis at least @bin gbagbo one of the so-called overrated players scored two goals against senegal before crowd violence erupted. I don't think we should underrate any CIV player yet (except maybe kalou and tiote and the likes). |

bin gbagbo: compare this Charlie, please tell us, who is/are the "KILLER(S)" in the squad? You know it that Asamoah Gyan, John Mensah, Sulley Muntari and John Pensil are done. What can one expect from 45 plus years old men?! Seriously, haven't they retired? They are obviously too old to stand a chance against any good team in Africa. Ghanians are the worst culprits in age cheat followed by Cameroon in Africa. As for Kwarasey (abi na Kpalasa), Annan, Boye annd Atsu, they are just AVERAGE players. As a matter of fact, you have two GOOD players on that list viz Kwadwo Asamoah and Andre Ayew. 3 Likes |

semid4lyfe: Goal Keepers Our team is ok on paper as usual just hope we'll do well this time in South Africa. Our soft spot to me is the Goal keeping and Defense section. Enyeama now prone to silly mistakes and central defense have not really clicked in recent time. Hope and pray that Afam returns to full fitness/form. Was surprised when i heard that Ambrose is a regular in Celtic, thats good news he needs the exposure and confidence. Our right full back guy was disappointing against Liberia. Midfield is ok, i like Nosa, Joel and Nwankwo those guys are young, creative and combines it well with their defensive duties. Fengor is hard as a rock and hes also a utility player(we may use him as our right back) and lets hope that Keshi likes him. We know Mikel Obi, lets hope he'll play with his heart like he did against Liberia. Who's Raheem Lawal? Kalu Uche na striker oh...... We just dey misuse that guy for Super Eagles. Forward, I'm short of words. In fact once our midfield clicks and supplies them the ball, they'll deliver. Most times the problem has always been that the forwards are not getting the ball because of lack of quality midfielders. 1 Like |

otumfour:your Ghana was all noise like this prior to the last nations cup but what happened at the end? let me not open up all wounds cos i know ur country is still mourning that embarrasing defeat you guys suffered in the hands of eventual winners ZAMBIA (in the absence of Nigeria though). Ghana ll try their best but quote me they ll break ur heart once again, meaning they will fail. NIGERIA all the way 1 Like |

semid4lyfe: Goal Keepersbros u spoke my mind but painfully u fail to mention some notable players we might need. in no particular order Eneramo Adeleye (which in my own opinion shld pair with yobo or apam in defence) Anichebe soni Aluko good news that sidney sam is considering playing for nigeria. what a squad? the coach is in trouble for choice. |
