13 Year Old Nigerian Stowaway: What To Do With Him? by abysirius(m): 10:37pm On Aug 28, 2013
It's no longer a news that a 13 year old Nigerian stowed away on 1 of Arik Airline aircrafts from Benin to Lagos. While many have criticised the roles of FAAN on this subject matter, Some believe it is the economic hardship in the country that we need to blame it on. Yet I think the parents also have a lot of questions to answer.

All that said, the whole world is watching to see how this whole drama is handled. This is a very sensitive matter as we will not only be sending message to other children within this boy's age group, but to the rest of d world as a whole. IATA I believe should have a standard procedure for dealing with stowaways even when they are minors.

Should the stowaway be rebuked or forgiven?

He should be awarded a scholarship to study free to university level and fulfil his dream of flying to the United States of America..

Don't you think that other children especially the less privilege ones might also want to exploit the same opportunity with the hope of equally landing a scholarship? Or organizaations like IATA & IMO... do you think this will be okay with them if handled this way? The boy can not be prosecuted of course. He's a minor!
