Oredian Education Resources Limited was incorporated in 2010 with Cooperate Affairs Commission to carry out all educational related services among which are representation of foreign Institutions in Nigeria, processing of admission into international Universities around the world and administration of scholarships on behalf of its foreign partner Institutions. In the past 4 years, the company has primarily concentrated its efforts in the promotion of Indian education in Nigeria as a veritable alternative to the costly European and American Educations. Over this period of time, Oredian has recruited close to 1000 students to Indian both on its yearly OERL Scholarships/Direct admission process.

OERL Study in India Scholarship programme started in association with Indian Education Promotion Council (IEPC) in 2010 of which about 34 Nigerian students went for study in Saint Francis De-Sale College (University of Bangalore) India. These first sets of students have graduated in June 2013. The 2010 scholarship programme was restricted to students in Lagos state being the first edition and the publicity was done by Superscreen Television in Lagos. Due to some logistic issues, in 2011, there was a hold in OERL scholarship and by 2012, OERL scholarship came up again with 18 winners in various courses. The examination for 2012 scholarship exam was held in Lagos, Port-Harcourt and Abuja conducted by National Business and Technical Examinations Board and the publicity was handled by a known and number one Nigerian Online Student Information Company- My School.

The 2013 OERL scholarship publicity was handled by My School and more than 1000 students sat for the scholarship exam conducted in Abuja, Benin City, Awka, Port-Harcourt, Kaduna, Lagos and Jos and the exam conducted by National Business and Technical Examinations Board one of the leading examination Board in Nigeria. The 2013 OERL scholarship saw 45 winners studying presently at Saint Francis De-Sales College India, and Nitte Institute of Technology India.

Upon the success of the 2013 study in India Scholarship, Oredian Education Resources hereby announced the registration of students for 2014 OERL study in India Scholarship for 2014 academic year beginning in June 2014 in collaboration with Indian Partner Institutions.

The scholarship worth of $150,000 for tuition fee only will be available and distributed winners in various courses as provided by the approving Institutions. Scholarship to be awarded covers Tuition fee only while students are to take care of other expenses. There are two types of scholarships for 2014:
(1) Academic Based Scholarship (ABS): The scholarship will be awarded to students base on their respective performances in the OERL study in India scholarship examination. ABS are of three categories as follows:
(i) Full Scholarship: This scholarship covers the fee of 3 years or 4 years degree programme. Students are expected to score a minimum of 80% and above aggregate in the scholarship exam.
(ii) Two years Scholarship: This covers the tuition fee for two years of any 3 years degree course of study. Prospective winners in this category are expected to at least score 50% in the scholarship exam.
(iii) One Year Scholarship: This covers only one year tuition fee of a three years degree program. Students are expected to score at least 40% in the scholarship exam.

The 2014 winners of scholarship will be admitted to any of the following Institutions:
(i) Dayananda Sagar Institutions Bangalore
(ii) Saint Francis De-Sales College, Bangalore
(iii) Loyola Academic Degree College, Hydrabad
(iv) Vels University, Chainnia

To qualify for the ABS test, applicant must satisfy the following eligibility criteria:
(i) Applicant must have 5 credits in relevant subjects in WAEC, NECO OR NABTEB
(ii) Must be within 17-25 years of age.
(iii) Must be ready to undertake any of the above course fields in sponsoring Institutions.
(iv) Should be ready to represent Nigeria in India being a good student.
(v) Since the scholarship covers only tuition fee only prospective students must be financially ready to bear other cost in India.

The scholarship exam will be conducted by National Business and Examinations Board (NABTEB). The subjects are classified into three categories as follows:

1) Science Subjects (For Engineering, Natural/ Applied Sciences)
(i) Mathematics
(ii) Physics
(iii) Chemistry
(iv) Biology
(v) Use of English & Current Affairs
(vi) 10 questions relating to India.

2) Art Subjects (For Arts & Humanities Courses)
(i) Government
(ii) Economics
(iii) Literature in English
(iv) CRK/IRS
(v) Use of English & Current Affairs
(vi) 10 questions relating to India.

3) Social Sciences (For Business Management and Accounts)
(i) Mathematics
(ii) Commerce/Government
(iii) Economics
(iv) Accounts
(v) Use of English and Current Affairs
(vi) 10 questions relating to India

Upon the award of provisional scholarship, students will be required to commence admission processing with the sponsoring Institutions as award of provisional scholarship does not represent automatic admission and visa requirements.

(i) Sales of Scholarship Form: 11th November – 31st December 2013
(ii) Examination Date: 18th January 2014
(iii) Release of Result: 3rd February 2014
(iv) Interview Date: 10th February 2014
(v) Admission Processing: 3rd March – 31st March 2014
(vi) Documentation & Visa Processing: 1st April – 30th April 2014
(vii) Student Departure to India: June 2014

The scholarship examination will take place on 18th January 2014 at Lagos, Abuja, Port-Harcourt, Kaduna, Akwa, Warri, Jos and Ado Ekiti. Examination centre will be communicated to the students a week before the exam.

Candidates who successfully apply for 2014 scholarship will be provided with free 2012 and 2013 past scholarship question papers and answers to prepare for the exam.

To apply for this scholarship, interested candidates are required to follow these simple steps:

Interested Nigerian students who wish to benefit from this opportunity are to pay examination fee (which cover scholarship application, examination materials, centre, study in India Orientation Seminar) of N5,775 (Five Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy-Five Naira only).

Full scholarship has been approved by two sponsors Institutions- Saint Francis De-Sales College and Loyola Academy for 30 students in the under listed Sport & Games:
(i) Football
(ii) Basketball
(iii) Volleyball
(iv) Handball
(v) Field events
The prospective applicants must be academically qualified for any of the available courses before applying for scholarship under SBS.

Interested applicant must not be more than 25 years old and must indicate course of interest. Also while all applicants will be made to demonstrate ability and fitness, they will equally be examined by competent professional in their chosen sport.

The SBS full scholarship covers only tuition fee for the duration of the programme.

Applicants for SBS will not write the OERL Scholarship exams but bears all related costs of fitness determinations.
