Bro, pls could you briefly explain the reasons for disparities in the price of clearing vehicles. What are the conditions that determine the amount. For instance, i sometimes see 2 different brands of Suvs of same year and which cost almost same price from US with huge price difference in clearing.I am asking cos i want to make an informed decision based on my pocket when i want to order. If i could know the determinant for the clearing fee, i would know what i should go for when selecting.

For the tariff stuff, they do not give a damn how much you bought the ride, the index they use is damn sick. For instance, you pay same amount for peugot 307, Nissan Tida, Toyota matrix, corrola and so on of same year, when their cost are wide different.

What usually constitute difference is d model. Mercedez, lexus, Hummer, Bentley, Bugatti, Cadillac, some toyota product like Avalon, Prado, and some BM and GMC products too have special duties, higher than other 'normal' vehicles. And terminal do contribute sometimes.

If this does not help, you can be more specific in your reply.

Safety: for vehicles coming with bulky or sensitive load, RO-RO is not an option for them. To have all your goods virtually intact, kindly put them in the container.

But, RORO vehicles has lower risk of getting damaged. Reason 'chasis' vehicles are ship via RO-RO service. The damage to containerised vehicles occur mostly at the point of offloading.

CAUTION: do not just place your vehicle inside the container just because you have some load, if the worth of the load cannot absorb the additional cost of the container, please do yourself a favour.

When loading container, it is advisable to contact your agent to advise you on best way of stuffing your load (if any) to ease clearing. It is important. It could save you money and sting of surprises.
