Arsenal Vs Manchester City (2 - 2) On 13th September 2014 by Omooba77: 10:42pm On Aug 31, 2014
Arsenal faces the biggest test of EPL this season in week 4,when the Arsene Wenger men confronts the noisy neighbo our.Arsenal drew 1:1at Leicester, while Stokes beat Man City 1-0 at Ethiad on September 13,after international breaks.....It promise to be massive......

Arsenal were frustrated in a 1-1 draw at the newly promoted Leicester, while the Citizens after being backed so heavily for three points, suffered a shock 1-0 home loss against Stoke.Even though the Citizens go into this match as the favourites with the bookmakers, they do so only narrowly, but there isn’t a lot to genuinely warrant backing them here. The only thing which could be in their favour really is that defeat against Stoke. Manuel Pellegrini will be expecting a response from his side, and it could have been the rocket that they needed to get them going. They have looked a very boring and laborious side this season, not controlling possession and being slow to the ball in all of their matches so far.But the Citizens have won just one of seventeen previous visits to Arsenal in the Premier League. That lone victory from them was a 2-0 win back in the 2012/13 season, and incidentally, it has been the only occasion in those seventeen visits where they have managed to score more than one goal. So history really isn’t on their side for this one, and they could be facing their first back to back loss scenario in the top flight since October of 2010.So Arsenal do have form, even though they have won just one of their last four league games against the Citizens. The Gunners are currently on a 19 match (W14 D5) unbeaten streak at home in the Premier League, winning each of their last four. Like City, Arsenal have been missing a spark this season too, things just not clicking or flowing with any kind of urgency. There has to be better to come from them and this is a big chance for them to prove it.At least they have a striker now who should be in great spirits, as new arrival and England hero Danny Welbeck will get his debut for the Gunners. He is a 2/1 quote in the anytime goalscorer market, a long way back of even money favourite Sergio Aguero who has scored eight goals in his last ten away games in the top flight though. While there probably will be a propensity to look for goals in this one, only two of the last nine meetings have seen more than 2.5 goals in them. The timing for Arsenal could be huge in this one. They have the home form to avoid defeat here, and at even money for a Draw No Bet on the Gunners, that really can’t be passed up. Their only concern is at the back, having conceded four goals from seven shots on target against them this season.
Aaron Ramsey is running against time to be fit for this game, likewise Joevetic,Arsenal will likely welcome the last day signing from ManU,Welbeck to his first start.

Earlier at the pre season game, community shield,Arsenal were 3-0 winner at the Wimberly on August 10.

Cerci don go Atletico, whom Wenger wan sign,Sirnogoal.....smh......

Danny Welbeck could make his Arsenal debut against Manchester City fresh from scoring twice for England on Monday. But midfielder Aaron Ramsey may be absent after sustaining an ankle injury playing for Wales midweek.Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta is confident he will recover from a knock picked up on international duty.Forward Stevan Jovetic injured his hamstring while away with Montenegro and is a doubt.

MATCH PREVIEW

The country may be going mad for the return of singer Kate Bush just now, but my thoughts this week turned to the work of another sage songstress - Joni Mitchell, and in particular her classic 1970 anti-urbanisation hit Big Yellow Taxi .In it Mitchell croons:Don't it always seem to goThat you don't know what you gotTill it's gone. Two weeks ago Danny Welbeck was a Manchester United bench warmer and England sqyuad man. Now, according to some of Old Trafford's recent greats, he's a symbol of the end of an era for the club, a last Mancunian standing who was carelessly cast aside for not much more than a pittance to accommodate glitzier, more glamorous names.

There's definitely a feeling that United's loss might be Arsenal's gain. Welbeck's well-aimed parting shot that he'd always dreamt of playing for Arsenal must have been particularly painful.Certainly Welbeck enjoyed playing as a central striker for England in Basel, and he surely has that role all to himself at Arsenal, at least until Olivier Giroud returns from injury. So will it be a newly self-confident Arsenal who take on Manchester City, the club theybeat convincingly in the Community Shield so recently? I say 'the club' and not 'the team' because it's possible that only two or three of City's Wembley starters will kick off at the Emirates. No, City will not be dwelling on the loss at Wembley half as much as they will the shock against Stoke, when they were uninspiring for much of the game and seemed to be lacking both a mental sharpness and a spring in their step. Not what manager Manuel Pellegrini would have wanted going into about as tough a run of fixtures as you could engineer: Arsenal away, Bayern Munich away and Chelsea at home. Imagine the pressure on the reigning champions if their Stoke lethargy were to continue into those games? As Kate Bush  (or Chris Kamara) might say; "Wowwowwowwowwow. Unbelievable! (Jeff)."

Re: Arsenal Vs Manchester City (2 - 2) On 13th September 2014 by Omooba77: 12:33pm On Sep 12, 2014
Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta has declared that his side will be gunning for the full three points in their Premier League meeting with Arsenal tomorrow.

The English champions, who shockingly lost 1-0 to Stoke City before the international break, succumbed to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Gunners in the Community Shield last month.

But Zabaleta is not keen to read too much into the Community Shield loss as the full-back feels his side were not fully fit back then.

And the Argentina international, who believes Manchester City are much stronger now, is however aware that Arsenal are always a tough team to play at the Emirates Stadium.
