Why Nigerians Love Celebrating Christmas: Top 10 Reasons by Nobody: 10:15am On Dec 17, 2014 |
1) Birth of Christ- This is the main reason while december 25th was culled to celebrate Christ birth, but some people are using it as a medium for other things. Christians should use it to celebrate Christ not worldly things that would add nothing to use. If you want to do worldly things, fix another date for it. 2) Inflating of market price- Lol! Most people that sell commodities in petty trading, retail and wholesale sees it as a medium to inflate their price and gain money during the yuletide. This is annoying even when the commodity weren't increased by producers. 3) Getting a gift from friends- This is mostly applicable to girls and little kids. Girls sieze every opportunity of it to get a new gift as if they're the one celebrating Christmas. kids would be expecting a christmas gift from their relatives. 4) Visiting an exquisite places- What shall it profit you to be celebrating the birth of Jesus as if it's yours? They use it for doing all sorts of thing which doesn't profit but disgust the celebrant. 5) Eating delicacies- On that day, gluttons would be showing off what they are made of. Can you imagine? I thought it's written in the bible that we shouldn't over do everything(over-feeding ourselves). 6) Carrying out heinous acts- Guys would be engaging in sex as it pleases them. Young ladies loose their virginity not forgetting it was a virgin that bore Jesus. Hian! Armed robbers prey on their innocent victims. 7) Getting close to God- This is what Christmas should be. Few christians, visit motherless home, less privileged shelter, church to pray, and do some things that honours God. To celebrate Carnivals- I don't see how Calabar Carnival, street and an estate own correlate with birth of Jesus. 9) To learn new things- Some people seek to learn new things on the day of christmas-- The origin of Santa Claus, Is christmas biblical? Etc 10 To play with knockout- This is annoying even though it's fun. After new year eve, knockout/banger would be flying around. Add yours Inspiration gotten from Tosyne2much and Kachisbarbie. 5 Likes 3 Shares |

The one that annoys me most is number 2. You go to the market to purchase some items most especially clothing items and you begin to hear some outrageous prices. If not for anything, isn't christmas a time for one to buy things at cheaper prices? It is only GOD that will judge us all. 1 Like 1 Share |
