Good news !! But the steep drop in polio cases doesn't amount to transformation in health sector. Did you say under GEJ ? Well the drop started in 2009 not 2011. 22 Likes 3 Shares |

Bill Gate's fund for polio help save million children in Nigeria alone, the money is "unstealable" cos there are strict measures against it. If not for the Polio Fund that came in just in time, we'd all be lamenting the level of destruction Ebola has caused. 13 Likes 1 Share |

Well...we are dealing with Polio. But our health system is still comatose in many other parts....bad hospitals, limited number of doctors, nurses, lab techies, pharmacists, etc, and most importantly a limited number of specialists....and a very unnecessary war between JOHESU and NMA. And lots of people are still being affected by Malaria, diarrheal diseases, TB, HIV .....and we have a growing Hypertension and diabetes problem And the government won't make the hard choices needed to change our health care system. Thank God Polio is on its way out....but PDP has not done well for our health care sector. They better make the hard choices needed to improve our health care system NOW.....by increasing health care spending to 20% of the budget, and by improving and increasing training of more specialists, by spending more on primary and secondary health care, and by privatizing teaching hospitals...so that we can have the funds needed to make our primary and secondary health care system better. 4 Likes 1 Share |

This is a misleading topic. He never made mention of Nigeria's healthcare which everyone well knows is deteriorating. Nigeria is one of the few countries in the world that still has polio cases and Bill Gates has committed billions of dollars to eradicate polio mainly through immunization of children. ..so he (nd we too) should be happy. But using such as a political tool to lie that our healthcare is improving is malicious, false nd very stupid. Goodluck and his social media employees are shameless. 18 Likes 2 Shares |

Bill Gates spent billions of dollars to ensure eradication of polio. The monies were nt handed over to the fed govt,he has an agency that ensures judicious use of the dollars. If the money were to b handed over to fed govt,we wil b talking of mismanagement of funds nw and nt this success. Bill Gates takes this credit and nt Jonathan. Transformation in health sector my foot, this year alone,Doctors were on strike for 2 mths and presntly other health workers are on strike. Our hospitals are nothing but mere consulting clinics. The rich travel abroad to seek medical help, the poor die daily as a result of poor medical facilities. This govt shd nt take the credit of an individual who spends his fortunes to better the lives of the masses. 12 Likes 1 Share |
