new in here, and its kind of ok. Just wanted to draw your attention to the fact that no Nigerian university was listed among the top 60 in Africa in the July 2008 university ranking by Webometrics. (an initiative of Cybermetric Lab, a research goup belonging to Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas CSIC, the largest public research body in Spain) OAU 68 in Africa: 7,703 in the world and UI 85 in Africa: 8,619 in the world. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY GUYS??

i believe there will be another ranking this december. even universities in
countries like mauritius, senegal dakar, etc were rated above universities in
naija. where is our great UI, unstoppable IFE, unbeatable Uniben, greatest
Akokites,, nobody wan respond?? well maybe una don tire for the matter
like many people. i believe say dry bones,, sorry dry universities fit rise again.
God will make us matter when it matters most.

This is wierd. Uniben ranked so low? Wow, we need divine attention in the education sector of naija cos the government is doing more or less nothing 2 step education up.

when you go through the site thoroughly you will see a portion where it is written that the rankings are based on web popularity hits and not educational standard. the real educational rankings are done by newyork times magazine. based on their last analysis your rankings dont even fit close to what you listed. i know because i have been searching for the best school in my field abroad to do my masters degree

the name alone webometrics gives you a hint that their analysis is web based. meaning based on the amount of times people browse the school website. anyone including those seeking admission can cause a school ranking to go high based on their own standard of judgement
