In the 15th century, there would have been as much American Indians as the Chinese. They had advanced civilizations there too, that rivalled and even surpassed in many respects the ones on this side of the Atlantic. Aztec, Maya and etc. There are aqueducts built in South America that supplied drought prone areas with fresh water for drinking bathing, irrigation and etc. A challenge yet to be overcome in many places on Earth nowadays. Access to water is still a problem for many nowadays. Brazil for instance had a minimum of 5 million Indians in the 15th century. Nigeria may have had thesame population back then too but nowadays, American Indians in Brazil are probably not up to a million. The predominant gene in the Americas is European followed by African then native American. The majority of American Indians were wiped off by the diseases like small pox brought by immigrants. Many non Europeans use this fact to advance their argument that Europeans are inhuman or are beasts who prey on non Europeans, wiping them off to take their lands. This position is a very appealing one to a basic mind like the minds of Nigerians who believe the woes of Nigeria are caused by Europeans using their Bretton woods institutions of the IMF and World bank. To those with such a mindset, the fate of the American Indians becomes a validation of their conclusion. Those Nigerians and other Africans see white people as villains and non whites especially Africans who trust them do so at their own peril. They live in dread of white people. I know many of them like that.


However, such a conclusion or reasoning can be easily faulted. It is a result of totally unwarranted fears because only one question demolishes the argument. That question is 'Why did the Europeans not do thesame in South Africa, China, India and Japan? Why? The only answer is that Europeans are afterall human beings like us. They are not a gang of villains. They have bad eggs just like all human groups but they are not villains. If they wiped off the American Indians intentionally, they would have done thesame in South Africa at least, if not India, East Africa, Japan and even China.


All Earthlings should appreciate that contact with aliens from outer space is dangerous! They carry pathogens which they are immune to but that can decimate a city of 25 million Earthlings like Lagos to remain only 200 people and that was what happened to the American Indians after they came into contact with people from across the Atlantic whom they have been disconnected from for thousands of years. Over 40 million died in Peru alone in the 16th century. There are pathogens somewhere in this universe that can wipe off 99 percent of the Earth's population within a few months.


Smallpox had eradicated whole Yoruba cities in the past and it is for no less than this that Sanponna is deified among the Yoruba. There is modern evidence that Lassa fever decimated the population of Yoruba in the past also. A scientific paper was published showing the present Yoruba population is resistant to Lassa fever which is an indication that the present population are descendants of Lassa fever survivors.


Those pathogens periodically descend on Earth as if they are biological attacks from outer space. Black death, plague, small pox and etc had decimated cities in the past all over this side of the Atlantic. Research them.


However, during wars, after American Indian massacres of Europeans and etc there might have been occasions when small pox was intentionally passed to American Indians either by the Spanish, Portuguese, Africans, even later entrants like the English and French but such is to be expected in wars. However, the causal factor was the exposure of American Indians to alien humans from across the ocean. Outer space aliens can do same to us nowadays or us to them.


Africans, Japanese, Chinese, Indians and etc could not be affected by such despite also encountering Europeans for the first time in the 15th century because Europeans were no aliens to us. We were linked by trade. So, whatever pathogen ravaged Europe also ravaged Africa, China, India, Japan and etc at around thesame time. Europeans knew Africa, India, China existed but they had no access to those places. The Ijesa knew the Oyo and Nupe who knew the Malians and Arabs who knew the Andalusians who knew the Germans and the Celts. Europeans knew the Russians and Arabs who knew the Indians and etc. The globe on this side of the Atlantic was thus linked. Columbus headed West to get to India in order to partake of the trade without passing through the 'hawks' on the Eastern route. That led to the discovery of what was named the West Indies. So any disease, innovation and etc got around to all in the past along the trade routes and all benefitted or suffered equally and recovered in due course of time. It happened to the Americas when it was not possibl to restock with Indians. The place was restocked with Africans and Europeans.
