Django can be used to map out the models in the way which the tables will be created in the any preferred database, for authentication, adminstration and others things.
So, a rest framework can be employed in order to serialized the model and return it as a API/JSON.
Now Node.js comes into the equation as a CRUD for the JSON/API been created by Django because Node.js is fast.
Node.js will do the frontend work with help of tools like Vue.js, Ajax, jQuery e.t c, Http requests can now be made.
With your knowledge of both frameworks you can cook up virtually any web project for personal or commercial uses.
This will make your project to be beautiful both in the backend and frontend.
Major website like Reddit and Instagram are using this similar idea.

Yeah this is now becoming a thing, using one as a Middleware, I've seen cases where the backend is in almighty C++ and PHP handles the request. crazy right am curious for the use case for C++ as the service layer maybe crazy request load.

All this things has to do with creative. What is the essence of knowing 3 or more web development frameworks or languages etc that your can't mix it together.
