I've not being able to make calls on my Nokia E63 since yesterday and i'm really confused.
my MTN goes with my E63, while my Glo with my Nokia 5320
the MTN sim works on 5320 but on the E63 calls won't go through and i see the open padlock symbol when initiating calls
the Glo works on both the E6 and 5320
so it appears for some certain reasons the MTN sim and E63 are no more compatible.
even went to MTN to complain and they pointed out it was from my handset
online research say something to do with call barring/encryption. on cross checking my call barrings are deactivated.
this is really annoying, more so considering today's my birthday! any clues, any one?

i can however receive calls, text and even browse.

press #330*0000# it works most times. You can also switch ur phone off and then put it on after a while.

so i went to settings->phone->network and changed the network mode from "dual mode" to "gsm". the other option there is UMTS. and that did the trick. you can always change back to dual as i remember on one of my old Nokia the phone wasn't detecting network and i had to do the reverse (from GSM to UMTS) to get it all good.
