Everywhere you go the Urhobos are always laying claims of owning Warri as their land whereas the name Warri was coined from the word Iwere which is actually an Itsekiri word they also claim majority in Warri as well.

Also we have Olu of Warri as the king who is an Itsekiri man. An Urhobo man or any other tribe can never be king in the same Warri they are laying claim to.

Please where is the entitlement of ownership from the Urhobos coming from?
aswear i don tire, only urhobo get about 5 local govt for delta yet dem want still claim warri south, i just tire.

Well...

Maybe some of them, because the bulk of a community can't have the same provenance

The earliest settlers of Warri, the itsekiris are from Ijebu

Itsekiri in Yoruba is Isekiri

Meaning Wandering....

The itsekiris were ijebu wanderers

Just so you know, the name Warri is an Urhobo name, names after the great Chief Sam Warri Essi. So don’t argue what you don’t know. Urhobo is the most dominant tribe in Delta state and even big enough to become a state of its own. Warri belongs to Urhobos. Check well Itsekiri are riverine people. And the Urhobos migrated from Benin kingdom, formally slaves who rebelled against their masters and migrated down to present day Delta state. If you are an Itsekiri ask your palace historians to verify all I said. Thank you.

Tales by moonlight. Go ask the meaning of Iwere where the name Warri was coined from? How can the Urhobos own warri and another tribe the itsekiris ruling over them? I'm not an Itsekiri but we are the mother of the present king of Warri Tsola Emiko whose mother is our very own.

My bad. Apologies. Just confirmed now, Warri was mispronounced by the whites and d name was kept. Itsekiri and Ijaws were both riverine communities. And it was formally the Olu of Itsekiri until it was renamed by Edjoor the boyfriend of Numa under Numa persuasion to Olu of Warri. To keep him in check other Kingdoms were created in Warri by the Urhobos, Agbassa, Okumagba etc.

You are very ignorant of Warri issues. Possibly you have never stayed in Warri City or have never even been to Warri city before. Majority of the lands in Warri City are owned and controlled by the Urhobos. The Itsekiris only occupy small parts of the city (i.e Ugbuwangwe, Ajamogha, Ekurede-Itsekiri, Pessu, GRA), while the Urhobos occupy the larger parts (i.e Agbassa, Okurode-Urhobo, Edjeba, Ogunu, Essi Layout, Eboh, Okumagba, Avenue, Okumagba layout, Okumagba Estate, Iyara, Otor Okere, etc). Forget the title "Olu of Warri", the Olu does not have control or jurisdiction over the Urhobo areas of Warri. Them no born na well to enter the Urhobo areas to carry out procession or proclaim royal orders like he does in itsekiri areas. The itsekiri king has no say or influence in the Urhobo parts of Warri. "The Olu of Warri" is a mere title crafted by the itsekiris to mislead outsiders into thinking that he rules over the entire Warri City, but that is never true grin grin grin. It's just like the title "Oba of Lagos" does that make the Oba control or have jurisdiction over the whole of Lagos? The answer is "no". The Oba of Lagos only have control over Lagos Island and not the whole of Lagos, there are other kings in Lagos controlling different parts of Lagos and are not under the Oba of Lagos. But going by the title "Oba of Lagos" a stranger, visitor or novice will easily think or conclude that the Oba's leadership/jurisdiction is all over the whole of Lagos. The indigenous Urhobo people of Warri have their own Kings properly recognize by the government (Ovie of Agbassa Warri Kingdom and Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom) and are the Kings practically incharge of all the Urhobo areas of Warri.

Bro nice one. If u can remember properly there was a certain time the Itsekiri people would drive around Warri beating one spiritual drum on a truck, don’t know wat they meant by that, but Olu was cautioned by premier Urhobo kings and that tradition was quickly abolished by the Itsekiri, like u rightly said na outsider go tink say Warri belongs to Itsekiri. But we know our history and even witnessed some. Itsekiri are riverine people and their influence in the state can be attributed to Itsekiri women, from supplying the whites with enough women from Itsekiri land even giving birth for white men down to their women dating or marrying past governors and military controller. Ibori married Nkoyo an Itsekiri woman, Uduaghan too same thing Roli also Itsekiri, David Edjoor had Numa an Itsekiri woman and a serious concubine all through his time as military governor of d old Midwest.

But Itsekiris are richer and more influencial than the Urhobos. Stop attributing the success of itsekiris to their women who married whites and wealthy women. Uduaghan is an Itsekiri man, so edit your writeup

But I didn’t lie in my write up,it can be attributed to their women indeed, and what gives you the impression that the Itsekiri are more richer and influential than the Urhobos? The tribes with the most military officers (rtd generals) in Delta state? Urhobo. Urhobos have produced so many prominent families Ibru (one of the richest families in Nigeria) family and Dafinone (amongst the first CBN governor), Okotie-Eboh, David Edjoor. The list is endless but I’ll stop here. Mention just one influential Itsekiri family.

During the Oputa panel, Obj was tried and sentenced to death but for world intervention he was pardoned. This committee was led by prominent Urhobo sons General Mujakpero (current Orodje of Okpe kingdom) and late General Aziza. Since then Obj has been biased towards the Urhobos. We are not a tribes of cowards and certainly don’t believe in our women hoeing around for influence.

So in essence the itsekiri women hoe around for influence, like seriously? Or maybe the itsekiri women are more beautiful and learned than urhobo women and as such they tend to attract men of influence

Men of influence? I don’t think you understand how influential Maj Gen Felix Mujakpero is that Ibori had to kneel down with some elders to beg him, also Late Micheal Ibru was a stupendously rich man. Hope you gud?

Well I didn't see nobody come to knock on my door or stop me on the way .. they were just empty threats ...

I'm pretty sure she didn't step foot in Ibadan too ..Even if she did, she wouldn't know where I stay so it will be basically a waste of time . .

She got what she deserved. All I needed her to do what was tell the truth about she paying my school fees then we'd be cool cause I cared less about the other things she was saying as they have no affiliation to me. If she had just come out to say the whole school fees thing was a lie then shiit wouldn't have escalated that much but still on still, she git6what she deserved...

she sef too bully....
