A lot of advantage over bold touch , I am using bold 4 before but I can say bold torch is better with wider screen and keyboard,screen torch and with faster browsing, d only thing is dat is a more expensive

i just discovered from a popular naija gsm site that one can now watch selected nd popular tv channels on their blackberry(likely bold 1 upward) nd other smartphones that have d funtionality.
NB> (1)This is not DSTV mobile.It is called mobile Tv as most of the stations are not DSTV stations.
(2)for now,u can only use this service if u ar in a 3G environment.for those using blackberry,d 3G sign must appear on d signal part of the phone.u may not b able to use it if what u can see as d signal is EDGE,GPRS,GSM

Bold 4 (official name Blackberry Bold 9780) is N62k is the upgrade to Bold 2 (Bold 9700) works with operation system 6, has only keyboard, does not have touchscreen, camera, flash, gps and many other features.

Blackberry Touch ( Official name Blackberry Torch 9800) this is N68k, this has touchscreen and keyboard, it is a slide, has all the features of Bold 4.

Blackberry Bold Touch (official name Blackberry Bold 9900) this is N92k, this has touchscreen and keyboard, the screen is bigger than Bold 4 but smaller than Blackberry Torch 9800, has faster processor than the other phones above (1200) and comes with operation system 7. A better phone.

Newer models are;

Blackberry Torch 2 (Blackberry torch 9810) is the same as Torch 1, but has faster processor and operating system 7 (N80k)
Blackberry Bold 9790 this is like Blackberry Bold 9900 but the screen size is a bit smaller like Bold 4, it too has touchscreen and keyboard entry, it uses operating system 7 but the processor speed is 1000 as opposed to 1200.

I suggest you go for Blackberry over any Android phone in Nigeria as the blackberry is cheaper to run than android/ iPhone because data charges are capped with most GSM providers charging N3k a month whilst other phones the Data Charges can vary from N1500 per month to over N6k depending on your usage and which bundle you chose.

A good blackberry will do all things you ever want to do with your smartphone especially for a first time user.

By the way we at www.omafones.com also sell in addition to Blackberry's androids such as Galaxy Sii, HTC phones and Motorola.

1. if you feel like being in vogue (till say mid-april 2012 when the world would all be dying to own the average in-vogue 9900/9930), you can go for a torch
2. if you sincerely want to use a blackberry, go for the 9780 (bold4).
here are my reasons why;
- they both have the same operating system
- they both have the same camera
- they both have keypads
their differences are as follows;
- torch has a wider screen display than bold 4
- torch has a touchscreen while the bold 4 doesn't
- torch is a slide phone while bold 4 is a smartphone
- when a torch drops, there is more worries of damage than when a bold 4 drops.
- when both batteries are fully charged, the torch doesn't last half as long as the bold 4

these are my views from their use. as far as i'm concerned, you won't be weeping internally if you buy the bold 4. forget the cost difference.
