I am not asking for money from anyone.
Whoever contacts any Nairaland member individually as regards this thread should disregard such requests.
This thread is solely for educational purpose and whoever suspects my person of being of questionable character should at least endeavor to know mw first.

I expect @Justwise to digg up evidences of me collecting money from any individual before pointing fingers.
If not then @Justwise has some apologies to make.

#more to come.

Sybellah: don't u think $200 (even per person) is too small? u need more money for accommodations and unexpectations. Good luck though, this will be a fun experience for sure
The budget excludes hotel accommodation.

Where my African queen @ Sybella, will you host us at the Ivory coast grin

Otunbaworldwide: Will u sponsor me?
I would consider if you were a pretty woman. Wouldn't mind having the company of such.

Btw* The trip is just for fun and nothing more. You aso don't have to be rich to embark on such. I want to believe a budget of $200 should get each person as far as Senegal and Gambia, maybe even Cape verdes Island in two weeks. This trip is for rugged souls who don't mind awkward situations and the risk involved. More importantly the more awkward it gets the more fun it is.

Let's go!
Travel / Re: Security Measures For A White Friend Visiting Nigeria by chipmunkey(m): 8:43pm On Apr 07
Gone were the days when I used to go around the Island and other parts of Lagos with a white friend in a Taxi cab without fear of being kidnapped. He would dress regularly in knickers and shirts and would bike across the Island, hitch hiking in the hot Sun. Damn! Gone are the days when pretty AISEC'ers would throng around Yaba at night, drinking and just having fun. Gone are the days!

CAMEROONPRIDE: I am thinking about doing the same but unfortunately not soon undecided
Trust me, it's gonna be a dream come true. There's a lot about Africa and African that needs to be discovered and there's nothing like travelling to a foreign land and still have a feeling that you're still among your people. The love you get is defo different.

Nigerians should avoid 'Saint Kitts and Nevis, Turks and Caicos Islands, Fiji, Barbados, Cook Islands, Grenada and Austria'? Are you mentally unstable?

Business / Re: UBA Visa Africard Scam. by chipmunkey(m): 7:37am On Mar 01
ProGSM: Give them a call again and insist on reply. They will refund u.
I've gone to the branch where I applied for the card a logged in a complaint letter.
I have the CR officer there will do something about it fast. But I wonder why UBA will exchange a dollar for 166 Naira in the first place. That to me is a big scam.
They also charge 100 Naira over every credit/debit transaction.
That too is uncalled for. I must have lost thousands of Naira over these little scams. I'm sure same goes for every other person who uses the card. I hope to get the GT Master card.

What could the bolded mean, if todays date is 24th Febuary. Whatever it means, i dont hv any problem with Africard. Its far better than My GTBank domiciliary account Visa Card.
What the bolded means is that you may never get your money back even when you cancel an order your card has already been charged for.
The bank's CIC aren't doing their job.

Seems there are lots of us who suffers the same fate in the hands of this monstrous bank.
bukahands:

Something similar happened to me last year, a case of refund from sportingbet. I neva got my money back despite different calls/emails. The latest now is the one that happened last week thursday wen I tried to withdraw from an ATM and my account was debited with any cash coming out. I have called twice they said friday dats yesterday still no show. Anyway will be breaking d card won't use the card again.

I remember when I went to complain for the ATM case as soon as I mentioned africard the cashiers started to laff. One of them now said I should just hope it comes back. That card since its not linked to an account theu don't take it seriously
Business / UBA Visa Africard Scam. by chipmunkey(m): 1:41pm On Feb 23
I am a frequent user of the UBA Visa Africard and I usually make payments with it online and I've done several successful transactions with my Visa Africard, however on the 23rd of February, I made a payment which was processed by 2Checkout.com. 2CO effectively deducted my account with #4,800 which was exchanged for $28.00 USD. A dollar exchanged for #168.00 or there about. The said transaction was however cancelled and 2 CO effectively issued a refund order which was sent to me by mail.

After waiting a couple of days turning into weeks, the said amount was never debited into my account. I was thereby prompted to call the UBA CIC and they requested that I should forward the refund order mail I got from 2 Checkout which I promptly did with my card details. I eventually got a call from a customer representative from UBA trying to confirm the said transaction and money claims I made and the said amount and date was verified.

To my surprise, UBA or any of their representatives has neither refunded my account or contacted me as regards my refund claims. Will anybody advise on the next course of action.

Webmasters / Re: Google Adsense by chipmunkey(m): 6:55pm On Dec 30, 2012
cash22: just make sure your site get enough traffics and hits. then read googles tos and privacy very well, else bam!!! banned
I'm not new to Google Adsense and i pretty much understand their ToS.
funky medina: Also the quality of visitors is important. 200k visitors from nigeria will give far less revenue than 200k visitors from USA . Some big money advertisers are interested in visitors from certain countries so its hard to say how much you will make by looking at another persons adsence check
I agree and infact most of my traffic comes from other parts of the world...Mostly USA so that should'nt be a problem.

Google just has a way of estimating Ad revenue and most times, it tally's with the above calculation i made.

I"m not so keen on deploying Adsense because of their strict rules cuz i actually got banned before and i swore not to use them again however i'm having a rethink and that may be due to the unprecedented traffic i'm getting..Wouldn't mind making a few extra bucks on the side.

Anybody will real figures and stats in the house?

Webmasters / Google Adsense by chipmunkey(m): 3:17am On Dec 30, 2012
I like fellow Nairalanders to give me an Idea of how much Adsense revenue a website that gets approximately 200,000 hits per month will generate.
I'm contemplating putting Adsense on it and by Rough estmates I've seen, Google Adsense pays approximately 10,000 USD per 10,000,000 page views depending on so many other factors.
So I belIeve from that estimate, which amounts to 1 USD per 1000 hits, then 200,000 page views should be bringing in roughly 200 USD.
It could be way lesser than that. Just a rough estimate.

P.S
I'm making my estimates based on actual Adsense a/c figures and statistics which I've seen.
I know google Adsense is a PPC program but they usuAlly arraive at their estimates based on number HIts and some Advertisers also pay per impression.

Am I wrong or right what's your take on this based on your own experiences?
