In the music biz, you have to have a good reputation or things can get difficult very quickly. I hope Terry G can resolve all the controversy surrounding him these days before its too late.

If Terry G has already spent his time and effort to do the beat then Shakka has to take it. He cant just say ' Give me my money back' , like we are in Tesco supermarket or something!!, the best Shakka should hope for is that Terry G inserts the vocals, mixes and masters the track.

I watched the apology vid and didnt believe it was terryg Unfortunately for him, ppl r seein all dis bad press and no one will want to do business with him in d nearest future 1.he need to check his attitude and wat ever he's smokin cus it will do him no good 2.he'll need to spend enough time in d studio and create some dope beats good attitude+dope beats = more money |

A simple statement of account will not show WHAT the N100K was for. Shakka needs a written contract containing the terms signed by both parties. If he doesnt have one, then it is will be difficult for him to prove his case. |

I don't understand how you can pay someone in advance and then not like the product afterwards. By paying 100% in advance, you're basically saying "anything you give me is fine" because you've already paid.
Nobody does that in the music biz. Even i know that. Normally, the producer will do the beat and mix it and send you a 40sec to a minute sample. If you like it, you pay up and get the whole thing. If you don't like it, you specify your changes. When they are implemented, then you pay up. No wahala.
Paying everything up front doesn't make sense. Frankly, if i was capable of doing a beat and did one for someone where he paid upfront, he better be in the studio when i'm making it, cause time is money and i'm not going to spend hours and hours trying to satisfy every little whim.
@ seemama. you're obviously the artist. Don't give yourself a bad name in this industry before you start. Terry G may be wounded, but he's by no means defeated. He can be a powerful enemy

A verbal agreement is a contract. It is only more difficult to prove.
Think of it. Why would one pay 100k for beat alone so he'll spend again on mixing and mastering.
There is a reason why the beat was rejected. And its cuz the terms of the agreement where not met.
Terry g is not being professional.
Shaka shud seek the completion of the job not a refund. Court will not help, they'll only spend on lawyers.
artist and producers just call their friends and say u're my manager. What they need are real business managers who will guide them professionally.
In my opinion, terry g is talented but very irresponsible. I think he is less than 25. I might be wrong. But all the fame and the money at that age is messing him up. They guy smoke skunk, really. No be just weed.
