Deola Sagoe - Myth Or Enigma?
« on: July 23, 2009, 11:46 AM »

This tread is extremely important for everyone who can relate to the mantra ‘Look good, Smell Good, Feel good’

Do you know Deola Sagoe?
Do you buy Deola Sagoe?
Will you buy anything by Deola Sagoe?
Do you have any opinions/experiences to share about Deola Sagoe Fashions?
What suggestions do you have for Deola Sagoe Fahions Nigeria?

I write this because it is amazing how we will go to lengths to get anything Gucci, Sean John, Hackett, TM Lewin etc…, and not think of the massive homegrown quality fashion released within our own motherland.

Ok – Let me hear you! Please keep to the thread topic. I appreciate it!

THE DESIGNER – DEOLA SAGOE

With no formal fashion training, Deola Sagoe has been able to establish herself as Nigeria's most internationally renowned designer. Daughter of Chief Michael Ade-Ojo, Chairman Toyota and Elizade Group Nigeria, she is married to Toyota Nigeria MD, Ayodele Kofi Sagoe. Deola apprenticed at her mother's tailoring studio while studying for her Masters degree in Finance at the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Ever since then she has consistently dazzled us with her designs.
Deola has shown collections at the New York Fashion Week, Rome Haute Fashion Week and the Nokia Cape Town Fashion Week. She was the chosen designer for the CatWALK The World - Fashion For Food kickoff event in Lagos and also one of the principal designers for this year's Face of Africa competition.
With a knack for combining unusual fabrics with unique embellishments, Deola delivers showstopping clothing and designs.
Deola Sagoe has definitely solidified her place as an African Fashion Icon.

Deola has been around for quite sometime. Well to 'kind' of set the record straight, her dad owns Odua group of companies, which include Elizade moters. Her Office used to be in her dad's complex on ikorodu road. As to her marrying a Toyota MD I aint quite certain. But I do know her 'estranged' husband is Ghanian.

Lol. well, its actually about the same thing to me: marrying well or up.
I just know that back in Nigeria, society peeps marry themselves, like Abacha son marrying Dangote's daughter, you know, stuffs like that.
I see it as a means of keeping the wealth amongst their circle and widening the rich-poor gap.
