How Would You Like Your Dream Wedding To Be?

Just tell us how would you like your dream wedding to be?

And to those whom are already married, how was your wedding and was it the dream wedding which you have ever hoped for?

Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!  grin
Re: Describe Your Dream Wedding by Seun(m): 12:24pm On Aug 21, 2009
It will be a small wedding: just me, my wife, her parents and siblings,
my parents and siblings, and our 2 or 3 closest friends.  And registry officials.

We'll go to the registry, sign the papers (prenuptial and marriage certificate),
then go to the nearest eatery for cake and ice cream after which I will drive
the bride to a peaceful hotel/resort far away so we can minister to each other.

Oh, Wedding, wedding and wedding when will it ever come to pass. I think is all about to marry the right person that truely loves you not necessaryly about how big and entertaining it is. Sincerely, i will really prefer a very simple and small wedding with some of my family members and love ones.
Re: Describe Your Dream Wedding by posakosa(m): 1:10pm On Aug 21, 2009
Simplicity is Key.

Nothing big or too big.
Re: Describe Your Dream Wedding by naijafan(m): 1:16pm On Aug 21, 2009
I'm with Seun on this. Altho I was thinking along the lines of 20-30 people for mine. We'll eat more than cake and ice cream, maybe add some pizza. Not decided on the venue yet, but likely my house so I wont hav trouble transporting whatever gifts i get back home. wink
Re: Describe Your Dream Wedding by DrLorenz1(m): 1:23pm On Aug 21, 2009
Wow. Just yesterday, i was walking along the road when i thought about this same thing,

First of all, y am i not surprised that its a female asking the question lol. Secondly, having a fantasy doesn't always mean getting reality, shit happens but we pray that it's the good ones  grin.

Personally, i believe it's not about how big or small a wedding is, but how big the marriage is. Not everyone who has a big wedding end up having an big marriage with love, happiness and the rest of the perks that is neccessary. But of course, these days it seems like love = money for most people whether the wedding is big or small.  grin

Now u expect us to believe that? And u're a female?  grin

@topic, it depends on what she wants, i don't really care whether the wedding is big or small, as long as i can provide the necessary ingredients that'll make the marriage better with each day.

I think my dream wedding would be on a beach in a tropical setting with traditional island clothing, just before sunset on the west coast of the island. There would be traditional drumming in the background. The reception immediately after on the beach.

I want a moderate wedding. Not big, not small

Then after maybe ten years, i would love to renew my wedding vow with a big bang!

If you guys are thinking of small wedding, you should think of doing your wedding outside of Nigeria because people will come whether they are invited or not. That is one thing I experience about that country. Before I went home last year to do my traditional marriage, I was thinking of small thing but oh boy, was I wrong. uninvited people are tripled the people I invited but thank God, I was ready and my father that came with me was financially ready because he knows Nigerian mentally. Despite all the money we spend, on planning to return back to USA, everyone was still expecting us to give them money including my belongings. We came back to USA broke and my nothing left in my suitcase but it was fun sha. Good luck guys.

I will keep it as simple as possible but UNIQUE. Society wedding does not guarantee lasting union and it doesn't trick me anyway. I will prefer to use my money to expand my business.

That is why I am thinking of (not concluded) registry to reception cos if it happens to be church wedding, it will be bigger than my expectation cos of our (I and my partner) church audiences, family members and friends.

Small, Very small (Thinkin bout 50-70 guests, but wondering the workability of that considering all my mum's friends she would wanna invite etc), elegant, classy. The few thousands of naira i would save by inviting fewer guests would go into bringing out the classy elegant details i fantasize about.

Would wanna share them with u but i dont trust all dese NL chics (esp GABRY)that may steal my ideas.  grin
Re: Describe Your Dream Wedding by shesi(m): 3:19pm On Aug 21, 2009
Seun, you're in for a big suprise if you think your wedding will have anything to do with what you want it to be. Your only say in the matter will be who the bride is. dazit. lol. better start getting used to that.

simple wedding seem to be the toast of all

same goes for me.
just not sure if money is a factor for the chooice of simplicity of Nls, but its a choice for me

the kind that will take place in an open field. enuff to eat for those invited.good attires and timeliness in arrival and departure

there is a long way to go
Re: Describe Your Dream Wedding by impish: 4:04pm On Aug 21, 2009
wow, seems like evry1s thinkin like me. I want a small wedding. 20-30 guests is not feasible in my clan as just my siblings n their other halves n kids = 30guests. lol. But Id say 80 guests, in a really nice location in lagos. Very elegant and classy. Simple but sophisticated. Enuf food to go round. I dunno how n y, but ppl often neglect the small thins like makin sure theres enuf to eat, drink etc and that ur guests r comfy. thats wot i want at mine.

my dress, hmmmm, kinda no where to buy it already and itl b just like my weddin - simple but sophisticated. but ive always wanted sumthin unconventional for my dress, or mayb to change into a simple cocktail dress at the reception. somethin i can dance in and walk freely in. I dont want all that naija party serenren where the bride and groom just sit on their high chairs without participating. I want one where thruout the reception, we r both goin round, chatting and dancing with our guests while sipping champagne.

im constantly changin my mind but every other day, i decide i want a destination weddin. if thats it, then probably 50 guests in dubai or sumwhere else just as picturesque!
Re: Describe Your Dream Wedding by Appearance(m): 4:35pm On Aug 21, 2009
Mine comes up in four months. Initially wanted it big but just changed my mind last week.

My church wedding and trad is gonna be the same day! You know finish church wedding on time and use my trad as wedding reception

It will sure save me a lot of stress and money.

Thank God my girl and I are on the same page on this.
